  1. “Former Preston and Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson

Ben Davies has done well at Preston and has let his contract run down so he was going to move on in the summer. If he’d gone to Celtic, which I’d heard had been agreed, then I was thinking he could do well there, but being honest I didn’t really see him as being good enough to be on Liverpool’s radar.”

Is jack Hendry still on our books?

  2. Remember being excited by the last day of the transfer window? Wondering why we always left it to the last minute but still expecting something good to happen . . .

    Now have zero expectations.

Would be happier to see the whole coaching team leave than 2-3 EPL bench warmers coming on loan.

  3. Today’s fare……

Celtic scrambling around for a loanee back-up CH who won’t be fit til April anyway?

The next instalment of Neil Lennon’s mental press conferences where he blames unseasonable wet weather on performances.

Enjoy. Tis only a laugh at the end of the day….

  4. I have thought about the improvement in their domestic form for quite a while since the first shutdown, maybe it is down to input from Mellwood as Gerrard was close to the sack or leaving due to 2 defeats to Hearts and beingwell behind in the league, thanks Liverpool not, it wont be forgotten by me.

  5. On-loan Celtic defender Jack Hendry has tested positive for Covid-19, Belgium club Oostende have confirmed after he was left out of Sunday’s match against Zulte Waregem

  6. 10 years on….Raemonn Gormley

I don’t think that shower are significantly better.

As has been suggested before, I genuinely think they are benefiting from playing in empty stadiums and avoiding the grief they get from their impatient support.

That Motherwell game where they went 1-0 down early and came back to win 2-1, for example. In the old days, i.e last season, that would never have happened.

  8. is set my ridiculously low KPIs for the second half of the season as :

    1. Barkas to make a couple of important saves in a game – Now dropped so this looks unlikely

    2. Watch 1 (just one ) good performance and result – still not happened ; there is time to achieve it but the trend has been the wrong way

Try again tomorrow in Killie. Makes me reminisce of my school days; nicking sweets in Woolies, chucking chips off the multi story as folks, the bouncy wooden stand at Rugby Park. Great days

My first ever game was 1-1 in 1980 at Rugby Park ; I think it will be the same tomorrow

  9. Downforsam.. Exactly my thoughts… You could write the script…. We seem to have put a lot of work into that signing… Its a bit of a sickner… Tho I don’t know how good or bad he is….

At least we got a right back….. He should be half decent…. 5ft 9…..again not the tallest….. Have to admit I like my defenders taller.

  10. Dithering Lawwell again or a player looking at the shambles at our club and saying no way.

Can anyone say they are surprised that Davies thinks he can improve his game at Liverpool under Klopp than with Lennon/Kennedy

Why are they still here ,go now .

100%. We are a disaster both on and off the park. Liverpool or Celtic? No contest.

  12. Re Davies – pay attention it’s all about the money – agent will get a cut of the transfer fee and Davies will get a higher wage.

  13. Fanadpatriot…. So you don’t think it’s anything to do with getting 40 – 50 k a week

Let’s put it another way… Celtic offered him 50k a week and Liverpool 25….. I think lennon and Kennedy would all of a sudden be better than klopp in Davies eyes…… To suggest otherwise is pure nonsense!!

  14. Liverpool also in talks to sign a CH from Schalke today. Ozan Kabak was bought for 15 milion in 2019, he’s 20 years oñd and seen as a top prospect by Klopp.

  15. Had a wee look at our defence last night and saw a pretty interesting pattern

If Jullien plays we get 2.56 points per game and concede 0.3 goals.

Put Duffy on and it drops to 1.83 points per game and we concede roughly 1 goal every game

Playing Bitton at the back is worse 1.6 points per game and 1 goal concede per game.

So in effect playing Bitton or Duffy at the back instead of Jullien costs a point every game.

Jullien has missed 15 games and both games against deadco.

So take 15 points plus 2 games in hand and the league is much closer.

Ajer is interesting. At CB we gain 2.2 points per game conceding 0.6 goals.

Anywhere else i.e. RB and we get 1.8 points conceding 1 goal.

So playing Ajer at RB is seriously weakening the defence if Jullien is not available.

Possibly quite a simplistic view but the numbers don’t lie.

  16. The players need to get a grip as well – too many not performing to an acceptable level.

Leave your gripes at the training ground and get your game head on.

We know Lenny isn’t up to it but too many are using that as an excuse.

You don’t appreciate what wearing the hoops means.

  17. Bada

If he can’t get a game for Spurs at the back I don’t want him.

Assuming he is a defender and we are not trying to sign another

    midfielder LOL

    …………….

its only a matter of time before the Scot Press go running after Barton for HIS Views on Celtic at this time, they do it with other ex Hun” players” every day, and other so called ex ” Celtic players” also.

The press drag them out of their gutters, to get their ” EXPERT” opinions ?

Its always funny to read the Scottish Press describe “Fat Sally” McCoist as a ” Rangers Legend ?

Soon after he signed from Sunderland, the Hun Hordes were chanting…” Ally, Ally GTF”….Likewise when he was Assistant Manager to Wattie Smith…and as a Hun Manager. I remember the chants and the banners AGAINST Smith and McCoist telling them to GTF.

The Press and the Hun support who now hang on every word from Fat Sallys mouth in relation to all things Celtic…have very short memories…..that Hun support have ALWAYS suffered from memory loss when it suits them.

  19. if we bought Gallacher and sent Duffy back now we would probably break even and have a half decent CH
