If McGregor loses form or starts showing his age they’re in real trouble
Burnley78 on
In my world Celtic won 4-0 and played pretty well to go further clear at the top of the league.
We appear to have strengthened our squad with a few signings and loan engagement.
Funny how somet till prefer to imagine our manager is not anything to do with signings and prefer to wallow in their own anti board misery rather than celebrate one of those special nights when we win and our nearest rival loses !
Bada- he’s indoctrinated with EPL best league in the world bull plop. They will argue that the two veterans need match fitness to get up to speed – I suspect there’s more chance of them getting injured if that’s the plan. Slippy has benefited from our dismal away form. That is the height of his achievements.
On an other note – Our signing splurge in Mowbrays January window met the buffers of reality in Kilmarnock too.
“We’ve got about a million wingers and don’t need another one … (It’s) not one that will help us now”.
That was the manager who said that. The manager. Not a blogger, not a conspiracy theorist, not a malcotent. In a window where we need to get the right back situation sorted, where there are actual priorities and when the man himself has talked about not knowing what the club can afford to spend, tonight he’s quite clearly and unequivocally distanced himself from the spending of near on £2 million.
Nobody made that up. Nobody invented that story. That actually happened tonight, and you can pretend that it didn’t, and ignore the implications of it, have a go at whoever writes it and focuses on it, but nothing you do or say will change it, nor the doubts it MUST surely raise in your own mind.
It is a fact. And the sooner we face it and deal with it the better.

I don’t expect Weahto start tonight. If Ralston is not fit that would be the only change. Except we know Gordon has the number 1 jersey for league games.
Every other position will be as you were.
Bringing Weah on against tiring legs and more space seems like the ideal way to continuing his integration with his team mates.
——
Told ye so.
Well, except for Bain keeping the keeper jersey. And Boyata having a groin strain.
I was remarkably accurate about Weah.
Despite two goals, Oliver Burke is not a striker. His first touch is appalling at times. Weah isn’t a number 9 either but geezo he certainly times his runs and makes it easy for the defence splitting pass. Tonight is was young Henderson with the nicely weighted through ball.
Not unreasonably, Sinclair and Forrest had trouble getting past a defence that double and triple marked them at times. But from 70 minutes on I thought both were on top form (except for Jamesie’s finishing).

Brendan Rodgers, you must be excited about new signing Maryan Shved?
“I can’t say I know a great deal about him. We have got about a million wingers, we don’t need another one.”
Aye, true to be fair to the cynics like James Forrest ( he disnae go because he hates the board, any board ) Brendan ( the millionaire on 60K per week ) and his petted lip appear to be posturing again.
Lord knows what’ll happen if we keep up this slump and how the uber Celts will fill their time.

In fairness you generally make some very good points.
Honest points.
You dont have to resort to ” how many games have you been to”
Everyones circumstances are different, health, travel, finance etc.

We’ve at least two cynics round midnight
for Brendan ro say a guy he has never seen,is going out on loan says it all
Weah oh Weah looked absolutely immense in his warm up. He did not disappoint when he came on.
This guy has potential, and some.
After a slow 15 minutes, this game proved very enjoyable and fruitful in Baltic conditions.
HH and Brrrrrrrrrrrr.
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
A line from the play Hamlet , by William Shakespeare.

Much obliged , David.
The quotation taken completely out of context.
And perhaps ;
Not one that will help us NOW .
ie at the moment.
In no way does Brendan say that he had no involvement or input in the decision which is what has been implied.
Although there are grounds to see why that suggestion has been made.
Gerard: Eeeeeeee ye can’t pass across yer own box (eng v uru)
Eeeeeeeee. Terrible pitch (Celtic lost there as well)
