Defoe blowing out his shabby sateen shorts

Gary McAllister looks like a dalek wae his helmet aff

Gary McAllister looks like a helmet

    and finally

WATP – We are Third place

Great stuff Celtic & the HT Bayou centre circle reveal was grand.

  2. Well pleased with tonight’s results. Killie may turn out to be a bigger danger but I still want the Huns beaten every single game.

They won’t fancy going there for the Cup either.

Thought Celtic were superb tonight, I know St.Mirren were not top class opposition but we often struggled against this type of opponent in the past.

Sincy has his mojo back & super to see the new Bhoys getting on the scoresheet.

Think we have a good one in Weah, hopefully he will be here for 18 months.

  3. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

All we need is another three strikers and two wingers and we’ll have a full team

  4. Good performance. No slackers and plenty of positives. That Burke, has the look of a natural centre forward. Good to score and good to lay of the ball.

I think we may have come through the dark days up front. With Griffith and Odsuane to return and young Johnston looking more like a real prospect every week, things are looking good. Add to that a return to form of Sinclair and the incisive moves of young Weah, and of course, Forest tormenting the defences again, the future is bright, but it certainly isn’t Orange.

Defence weren’t troubled and Bain is certainly upping the ante for the No.1 spot.

A good night for the good guys.

  5. MADRARUA,

The only thing Jamesie was tormenting tonight was me.Love him,but poor tonight.By his standards.

Dont know what Broony has to do to get MOTM.I thought he was majestic tonight.Makes the game look so easy.

  6. Alasdair MacLean on

Woke up from my couch sleep after work, switched the telly on – sevco game – switched a stream onto the phone. Just caught the Killie winner … and 3-0 at Parkhead. Ahh, this is good.

Best bit was near the end and clear as a bell over the telly as the huns must’ve been departing the ground, a few thousand Millie fans singing, “Walking away, the Rangers way.”

  7. Brendan Rodgers says Celtic have been in contact with Maryan Shved’s reps but if he signs for Celtic it’ll be one for the future: “We’ve got about a million wingers, we don’t need another one”

    So who’s signing the players….?

  8. Health update on the old over the hill brigade.

    ML’s legs. Still going strong.

    Brown: Still strolling supremely.

    SS: Mojo has been restrung.

    Izzy: still turning defenders.

Must be the sun in the Emirates.

  9. Just back from CP and thawed out.

It was well worth going tonight. We were on our game from the start and put St. Mirren into a defensive shell where they could pose little threat.

Some good touches from Burke along with two goals. Bravery from Sincy to take the pen after the weekend miss. More evidence of Scott Bain’s assuredness, a lively 2nd half from POTY-in-waiting James Forrest, and two really solid and energetic performances from our 2 past-its, Lustig and Brown. I know it will all be dismissed as “just St. Mirren” but we WERE good tonight, regardless of opposition.

Nice to hear Brendan single out Ewan Henderson for praise. He and Mikey are the stars in the development squad and there had been noises of Ewan following his brother’s example and leaving on a Bosman (cheap Development fee) this summer. In the absence of Tom Rogic, Ewan is more than good enough to get game time and spell for the overworked Callum McGregor. It would be a great result to see Ewan extend his contract with us; he has a real chance of making it. He can and did play some great slip passes.

Finally, I would like some guidance from the tactics guys on our formation. It looked to me like a 3:3:3 (Lustig, Ajer & Benkovic fonted by McGregor, Brown and Izzy, fronted by Forrest, Burke and Sinclair) with Ryan Christie floating between the front 2 sets of 3, almost exclusively on the left, making us a bit lopsided. What did Brendan see in the St. Mirren approach that resulted in this approach?

We are still in a title race. Aberdeen and Killie have not gone away, you know.

  10. ………belter of a drop opened and being enjoyed.

Tombacco ( Aglianico) 2015………Italian Red, thick enough to spread on a piece – Magic.

Can’t risk finishing it tho’ Gards here are ferocious.

  11. SFTB- Good summary,i thought Ajer looked a bit more physical, and better in the air, you’re right, guys will say ‘aye it’s only St Mirren, A N other….blah blah blah, we played well, kept the tempo high

  12. Just back home, in all honesty St Mirren were one of the worst teams I’ve ever seen at CP. They were so bad i was embarrassed for them. From our point of view, i thought we did what was required without leaving second gear. Burke looked decent and i was super impressed with Weah again who looks razor sharp, his movement was world class and could easily have scored 3. He will score goals for us that is for sure. Much bigger tests lie ahead but a good night all round. MotM – Sinclair

  13. Who would win in a fight between Burke & Weah and Torvill & Dean.

Dicey footprint in Parkhead, RIP Andrew Fairlie super fan ( nice one Peter Lawwell CEO ) and happy birthday to Hamilton Tim ( a true home & away Celt )

I thought Celtic looked fitter tonight than Saturday?, in another routine win for Celtic that was widely predicted on these pages despite the slump. Another marker in man management from the best manager we’re likely to have anytime this side of Paradise

and it was ineveitable Tim would Weah in.

Brendan Rodgers is screaming TEN in a ROW at the support every time he get’s up in the morning, consumate professionalism disappear to Dubai and get on with the job of being Celtic manager on £60K A WEEK regardless of whether he can sign Benteke or Bangura.

    M.O.M Stripped back Oliver Burke

    p.s. The Rainjurz are coming.

  14. On the way home i was listening to Shortbread, the lack of awareness, rationality and sheer hurt from Billy Dodds was breathtaking. ‘Rangers need a defender to win the League, Worral was exposed, McCauley is too old and Gerrard doesn’t trust Katic. Go and get another centre half and push for the Title’. Of course it must have completely skipped Billy’s attention that Gerrard signed all 3 of those players. It really is all a fantasy.

  15. Still at the tap, still got a game in hand, goal diff getting better……….

    Il Ultimo CSC

    Cheers!

  16. Few reports saying Slippy and Jones had a bust up in the tunnel after the game. Slippy G not happy with his celebrations

    Oot.

Ewan Henderson could definitely be a big player for us……he just needs to become a bigger player. (Bulk up a bit like Ryan Christie has)

  19. Win our next 2 home games both of which are well within our capabilities, Killie & Sheep meeting will mean one or both will lose ground, Huns are back on plastic again and are by no means a Banker, we have a great opportunity to open a decisive gap. Happy days are here again.

  20. Hunny G was ignorant and arrogant, to think he could start Davis and Defoe on that pitch, when they have hardly kicked a ball between them this season.

  21. Listened to the first half of the hun game on shortbread on my way home from work.

Apart from Defoe scoring I don’t think he touched the ball. Never mentioned his name. Soneone megged Davis. Once killie equalised it appears Sevco soiled the bed.

Pundits saying they need to sign more centre backs. Has slippy not signed 4 already and a couple of full backs? But yeah, sign some more. That’ll work.

  22. Absolutely Bada. Must have learned his tactics from Roy of the Rovers. Recorded it and had a quick peek back, watched about 20 minutes overall but from I watched neither of them did a bloody thing.

P.S. McShagger should have saved the Jones effort. We would have pilloried Gordon had he conceded it.

If you have a few moments tomorrow, email the blessed Martin at Nottingham Forest and ask him to extend Joe Worrells loan deal at the monkeys.

I’m sure he will understand !
