Celtic vindicated

1145

Yesterday’s decision by the SFA’s Judicial Panel, which ruled that Josh Meekings could not be subject to retrospective action as the referee saw the contentious incident on Sunday contradicted the initial official version of events, and totally vindicated Celtic asking for clarification of the incident.

I’ve not had a chance to read through all the apologies from those who used their platforms to criticise the club, but I’ll set aside an hour to do so later.  Keep an eye on the very personal attacks on Peter Lawwell.  There are people at Hampden who don’t like his influence.

It’s never good to get ahead of yourself, and it would be foolish to assume too much ahead of our visit to Tannadice tomorrow, but I hope the Highlanders take a point against Aberdeen today.  Winning the title would be a great way to start a holiday weekend.

Loving the narrative coming out of Ibox at the moment.  It appears they haven’t even applied for membership of the ISDX yet as they haven’t found an advisor yet.  I assume that’s the fault of the Easdales.  Or the BBC.  Or Celtic.  Or maybe it’s the Pope of Rome!

What a shower.  You know how this story ends….

Lovely sunny Sunday in Glasgow … Safe trip to all the bhoys and ghirls heading to tannadice today .. Just a few days after making the same journey to Dundee .

Sure they and the team will come back down the road with 3 points and a few goals to end the weekend better off than they started .

I notice Gregg Stewart was sent off yesterday so think he misses the match at Celtic park on Friday . In a way I’m disappointed that we can’t win the league on Friday but a win today and Friday will have the engraver getting his tool out ;)

This election has left me hopelessly conflicted on the basis that I cannot vote for any of them.

100% agreement. In the past week I have told SNP and LIB dem canvassers to GTF from my door. Sadly not had the opportunity to tell the New Tories, sorry I mean Labour, the same. All a bunch of lying self severing scoundrels.

TB Thursday is probably my favourite memory of watching Celtic. The game, atmosphere, emotion and the journey back, passing the hun buses returning from Pittodrie, made it so enjoyable.

According to Paddy on the Railway the injury time allotted in sevco’s was 5 minutes but they in fact played 11.

I was watching the results on Sky & hearts scored in the 93rd minute.

About a minute later it came up FT I looked at the time & sure enough it was another 6mins before FT came up for the Sevco game so unless there was a delay in the that game it sounds about right.

    Quote.

” It seems to be practically every time Bisto FC are getting beaten that extra time is added on; and not just one or two minutes either. Yesterday’s official added time was 5 minutes but most observers are saying that it was more than twice that. At full time Falkirk had won 2-1 but the man from Specsavers decided to keep the game going until Bisto FC had equalised. He was probably hoping they might get a third before he had to call a halt. There was probably a limit to how much time he could give them but the 11 minutes that were added on would make even Alex Ferguson blush. Falkirk were cheated, pure and simple.”

  9. My friends in Celtic,

    Just reading Paul 67’s article.

I am slightly confused by this closing statement “What a shower. You know how this story ends”

    ————————————

Unfortunately I know how I would wish the story to end, but I have been wishing for this since liquidation.

Reading back I have one open question to all :-

Why was there a £444 underspend by the Scottish Government last year when we have foodbanks and 4000 less teachers than when this admistration came to power.

Or is it just another inconvvenient truth.

HH to all and 3 pts today.

Thought last Wednesday nights game was the biggie but 3points today and it’s in the bag.Who do the sheep play next weekend? Got a wee feeling if we win today we’ll win the league next weekend by us winning on the Friday and the sheep dropping points on the Saturday.

Glad the bakers’ strike is over!

4 points from 5 games will win us the title, as long as 3 of those points are won at Pittodrie.

Rather not risk it though, so 3 would be welcome, though a draw is not a disaster, today.

It’s our 3rd game in 8 days, probably on a very poor pitch.

That’s what having a ‘cushion’ in points terms is all about in the run-in.

On this date 46 years ago we clinched the treble by beating Rangers 4-0 in a brilliant Scottish Cup final display.

  20. bournesouprecipe on

A week is a long time in football but the pallor left by cheating refused to dissipate and Celtic head for Dundee again to play one of two sides, to have beaten them on their own ground.

We’ve mauled this club up quite heavily this season, between taking their best players and drubbing them at soccer, a win will be very hard to come by. Our club has been dealt, a psychological blow that not only set up Inverness last week, but allowed the haters in SMSM to have a feast of frenzy, and our own internet uber fans to blame it all on ourselves.

    Plus ca change. CSC

Celtic’s frailties are generally well hidden inside the same system that has taken us to within an ace of the title, and despite a good shut out record in certain games, RD’s system (cheated aside) will come a cropper. It stands to reason with inadequate defensive cover and pushing up, someone, somewhere, half decent enough, will catch you on the break.

The better the opposition ( see Europe ) the more chance there is, that Celtic will concede goals. We don’t have sides who go on all out attack on the Celtic resource in Scotland, they’d be ripped apart, but today’s game will be another battle officiated on by someone who see’s things with Hamdump eyes, and Celtic need to take him out of the equation.

The goals spread for Celtic this season is the other major talking point, with RD certain to stick rigidly to his system of one of two recognized, in our case strictly gossamer strikers. The goals are as usual expected to come from everywhere bar Craig Gordon.

Of course, Stuart Armstrong and Gary MacKay Steven are both certain to feature, Stefan Johansen will return and in defence Efe Ambrose will replace the other bantamweight Adam Matthews.

A week isn’t a long time in mibbery.

Enjoy Tannadice bhoys & ghirls, I might be showing my age but I loved the terracing when we used to get the side facing the dugouts, those were pretty steep steps, Uptown Funk has been replaced by the Blarney Pilgrims, would be even better if Father Kane walked out to “Let The People Sing”
