Celtic vindicated

1145

Yesterday’s decision by the SFA’s Judicial Panel, which ruled that Josh Meekings could not be subject to retrospective action as the referee saw the contentious incident on Sunday contradicted the initial official version of events, and totally vindicated Celtic asking for clarification of the incident.

I’ve not had a chance to read through all the apologies from those who used their platforms to criticise the club, but I’ll set aside an hour to do so later.  Keep an eye on the very personal attacks on Peter Lawwell.  There are people at Hampden who don’t like his influence.

It’s never good to get ahead of yourself, and it would be foolish to assume too much ahead of our visit to Tannadice tomorrow, but I hope the Highlanders take a point against Aberdeen today.  Winning the title would be a great way to start a holiday weekend.

Loving the narrative coming out of Ibox at the moment.  It appears they haven’t even applied for membership of the ISDX yet as they haven’t found an advisor yet.  I assume that’s the fault of the Easdales.  Or the BBC.  Or Celtic.  Or maybe it’s the Pope of Rome!

What a shower.  You know how this story ends….

It’s taking it’s time on this occasion. That’s 8 days already. Twice as long as usual.

Still it’s a timmish fenian back and not a contorted Hunnish humph so I still consider myself blessed!

It’s all down to the pesky height.

  10. Also Mullet is a cannychange manger

McIness, Jackie, Mcintyre will try and copy the modern Ronny way but ingrained h-ns will never move from 442,

Lastly Jack Irvine’s request (ha) to his lackeys to try n bring our players value down is both obvious and failing.

Big Virgil is the best player in Scotland by a good bit. Celtic will eventually sell for £15m.

Scouts in England call guys like VVD real players which means they can immediately play in the EPL. They could have 25 bad games in a row and they would still get the big move. Guidi ( dear oh dear big man- you used to be good) valued VVD at £6m last week, He done the same with Vic and FF ( love FF- he will be EPL shut out king this year despite being injured).

Still feel if we had to give Guidetti a big for us package then we would have a complete CF. Won’t happen tho.

  19. After our abject display last Sunday at Hampden, where ICT ran us ‘off our feet’ from first minute to last minute and bullied us all over the field, today’s game at Tannadice is without doubt our most important match of the season, to date.

Going into the final four matches eight points ahead is a much more comfortable position than five points ahead with Aberdeen still to be faced at Pittodrie.

A defeat at the hands of Dundee Utd will bring back bitter memories of 2004/5 and the capitulation at Motherwell.

The title is not won yet and Aberdeen are doggedly digging-out results – our weak displays in the two games against ICT are very worrying indeed.

The away fixtures against Dundee Utd, Aberdeen and St Johnstone could all be lost if we don’t show more steel and desire – we should beat Dundee at CP, however ICT might be a different matter.

Worse case scenario would be FOUR points from five games – that will NOT win the title!

I hope that I am being overly pessimistic, however there must be concerns – that’s why today’s game at Tannadice is without doubt our most important game of the season, to date.

  20. Mr. P

    Revisionism

“ICT ran us off our feet, from the first minute”, so much we should have been 2:0 up at half time and enjoying a one player advantage.

I’d give them dominance from the Gordon sending off through to the end of extra time, but we were the dominant team in the first half and, despite my disappointment at the outcome, I will not exaggerate ICT’s prowess.

  21. Received a phone call to let me know an old pal of mine has just died.John Rielly played in the 60s for Duntocher Hibs. Some of his team-mates were well known Celtic players Dick Beattie,Pat Crerand and John Colraine.John had a reputation for being one of the hardest men in Scottish football. He lived here in Oz for 40+ years. He was a funny-funny man and just loved The Celtic.Rest In Peace John.

    Aye, possibly.

    This:

I read this interview earlier on in the week, and read it again just there now.

It’s not the full interview that was online earlier on in the week.

One, at least, maybe two paragraphs have been omitted since then – Doctored, for definite.

Here, see the original – he mentioned Steven MacLean as being his mentor/trainer. Disappeared now it has.

Should have posted the original interview at the time, but I was too annoyed to even bother.

Be interesting if anyone could find the original interview, then post the words they have removed.

They are at it, they are up to their balls in it.

Sorry for going on about that shameful episode, see Celtic – Celtic should counter-charge that MacLean thing for it’s vitriolic and poisonous attack against our footballers.

If one of our players , or here, any player in world football – launched such a hateful and aggressive tirade towards any referee – they’d be hung out to dry, and rightly so.

That MacLean thing did the exact same to Lenny at Tynecastle a few seasons previously – vicious and spite /hate fueled it was.

Who da funk does that thing think it is?

The rage is off the scale.

I’m surprised that Lenny didn’t rip it’s head aff.

Don’t let that thing within a million miles of another Celtic game, Celtic.

Otherwise the club stands complicit with the scam.

And best of luck with the Gaelic, it’s a difficult language to get, pure all the same.

I’m lost with it at times, to the honest – how it reads is entirely different to how it’s spoken.

16 roads – everyday is a school day, I now know Gerard in Gaelic is Gearóid

On a side note I am pretty proud of my name as my mother had several miscarriages and was pregnant with me (youngest of 5) in 1970 at the age of 44 so she probably thought the worst, I was named after St Gerard Magella, she should have opted for St Jude for hopeless cases !

  29. Good morning to Celts everywhere, can’t speak for East Kilbride or anywhere else but the weather today here in Dundee is cold and gin-clear, not a cloud in the sky (ok one cloud), a perfect day to put three past Dundee Utd. Not long to wait!
