Got to feel for those in the safe-standing area – looks like it may be closed for all three games in case there are more demonstrations – let’s face you can’t expect people to donate to another THREE ‘Just Give’ pages, in between matches – can you?

Dusseldorf area is really good, friendly people, lots of choice of where to stay in surrounding districts. Fly to Dusseldorf, Koln/bonn, even eindhoven, very close,
amsterdam and down by train reasonably easy.

My first reaction to the draw was that we had better spend the 30 mil, but after a minute I got to thinking that there is no way we can buy ourselves third place as there is no time for new players to gel with what we have. Games are going to be coming hard and fast.
Better to get a couple of players that will ensure we are top of the SPL by New Year and then buy players in the January window that will ensure we win the SPL and will be of the quality we need to win the qualifiers and perhaps get us at least 3rd place in the groups.
We are always going to be up against it.
I just hope we don’t break the record for most goals lost in the groups……….HH
Gladbach is 45 mins by train from Cologne or Dusseldorf.
I might be biased but cologne is better.

Could anyone tell me if Celtic will simply deduct the money for those on the Home Ticket scheme, like myself, for the CL, as they do for the other Cup competitions, and so I can continue to use my season ticket for the CL games too?
If it’s just the one we’re bringing in, can it be messi, Neymar, Suarez or wanyamma?

Hoops face a trip to Barcelona in opening group-stage game

CELTIC will kick off their UEFA Champions League Group C campaign with an away trip to face Barcelona in the Nou Camp on Tuesday, September 13.
It’s a tough game for Brendan Rodgers’ side against the Catalan giants, but it’s one that the Hoops squad are eagerly anticipating.
Celtic then have two home games in a row – against Manchester City (September 28) and Borussia Monchengladbach (October 19) – before they travel to Germany for the return fixture against the Bundesliga side on November 1.
The Hoops play host to Barcelona on November 23 before they complete their Group C fixtures with a game against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, December 6.

Just like to be sure of the dates, I looked on the Celtic site and they come up with match dates later.Or something to that effect.
A couple of points:
1. Paddy Roberts IS AVAILABLE AGANST MAN CITY. His father negotiated the arrangement BEFORE he signed that he could turn out against City if we met them in Europe. Job done.
2. Peter Lawwell is hardly likely to come out and say we are tracking 2 or 3 players before next week. Setting expectations if we only get 1 in. If we get more, it’s a bonus.
3. No one really expected Champions League football this season I reckon; it’s a bonus and we will have at least one unexpected result against Barca or Man City. If we get 3rd place, it’s a massive bonus!
