I’m older than Virgil van Dijk and I’ve seen more football scenarios than he has, so in this respect it is forgivable for him to be talking about Celtic going through the entire league programme undefeated, but Virgil was in the Celtic team who lost at home to Morton less than two months ago, so he really should know the only place to do your talking is on the football field.
Celtic have a rather important game on Tuesday, which the manager will quite rightly be preparing for, making tomorrow’s game against Aberdeen an open race. If Virgil’s (reported) mind-set is shared by many in the dressing room the 7/1 odds against Aberdeen look generous.
Better all-round if we knock any ‘undefeated all season’ talk on the head. It’s fine fare for fans but not for players.
Feeling gutted for the five Celtic fans who failed to get justice in Amsterdam yesterday. The rest of us can busy ourselves campaigning on their behalf but verdict will be a blow to the five and their families.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the current edition of CQN Magazine, not that I want to divert you away, but… The Football Pink magazine is well worth a read. We don’t get to read about Hugo Meisl and the Winderteam enough. Hugo’s in the current issue, along with an excellent article on The history of Irish centre backs, the player loan system, and an article on Gunter Netzer, the midfield general who brought West German football into the modern era.

Statement from Ogilvie
Statement from Campbell Ogilvie
Friday, 22 November 2013
Campbell Ogilvie, Scottish FA President: “This week, the Scottish FA’s Compliance Officer has reviewed comments made by the Celtic Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell, at the club’s Annual General Meeting, after receiving an official letter of complaint from Rangers Football Club.
“The Compliance Officer has informed both clubs that there is no actionable breach of the rules. None the less, I am compelled to convey my disappointment that we find ourselves in this position, as a result of an apparent erosion of mutual respect between two of our oldest rivals.
“At a time when Scottish football faces challenges on many fronts, it is incumbent on our biggest clubs to set the highest standards. In this regard both the comments made, and the subsequent time, effort and resource imposed on our Compliance Officer to deal with the complaint, were wholly unnecessary.”
What are the “two oldest rivals”?
When syntax goes bad – two of our oldest rivals…
As far as the SFA is concerned SurnameSurname, only one of those clubs is your oldest rival. And you’ve wasted a century trying to do us wrong.
Your grandchildren will be dull and decidedly ordinary. With a hint of deliverance…

KevJungle :
Sorry mate… yer either a hun, or a thousand times worse, a green hun.
But see me, not being a betting man, I just think yer a hun. Count your blessings mate, it is a million times better an affliction than being a green hun.
You’ve never been in the Jungle in your sad life, have you?
Have you ever thought about a girlfriend, or marbles, or if the worst comes to the worst – minecraft?
Weeman67 – I am about to go and work in the Netherlands (thankfully not Amsterdam) – your threat to ban dutch beer has my hyperventalating!!!
Celtic statement is…..acceptable……..still want to see action and not words and if they try and ban these supporters then they have a major problem.
On Ogilvie – excellent – I am thrilled he has been stupid enough to rebuke Celtic. Now Peter – its your time to go to war. Ex hun discredited chairman of the SFA takes sides – what a surprise. Lets go to war.
A long shot guys, but just wondering if anyone knows of a ticket going for tues?
Long story short, my pal has been in Oz the past year and a half, but has kept his ST going. I take up the CL packages for another pal on it, but he couldn’t make the game so sold the ticket. Just heard from my pal that’s he’s gonna be in Germany for work next week and was looking to fly over for the game, so as you can imagine I’m feeling like a bit of a clown now!
Asking more in hope than expectation, but if by some miracle anyone knows of a ticket going spare would bite your hand off for it!
Cheers bhoys

Breaking news from Celtic FC regarding Campbell “SFA” Ogilvie:
“Mike Yarwood can pretend to be Ted Heath.
Such a Silly Billy!”
Sorry, wed obviously!
I still cannot believe there were no arrests. Police Scotland having another cup of tea and debriefing at the time.
UEFA have fined Ajax €20,000 (£16,690) for
the misconduct of their supporters during
their Champions League game in Glasgow.
The Dutch club were accused of breaching the
governing body’s disciplinary regulations for
“crowd disturbances and throwing of objects”
by their travelling fans.
According to Ajax, the club will also be made
to pay for the damage caused when fans
ripped out seats at Celtic Park during their
game on October 22.
The club say this amount is “similar” to that
the governing body have ordered them to pay.
A statement from Ajax read: “In recent years,
Ajax have been punished regularly, mostly for
the lighting of fireworks. Besides the financial
damage that causes the club, such
misconduct also harms the image of Ajax and
football in general.
“This applies to unlawful conduct in the
stadium, but especially when it occurs in the
inner city. Ajax will continue to act in order to
prevent this misbehavior and punish [those
responsible].”
They were also fined €25,000 (£20,872) by
UEFA this month because of their supporters,
after it was ruled an “offensive banner” was
shown during their match at the Amsterdam
ArenA on November 6.

We should have spent money on a decent striker in Finbogasson .
AGMs every year full of happy clappers. About time we had folk asking the board real questions instead of listening to the usual shite every year.
Lennons net spend in the transfer market is zero. It’s a disgrace
Was this meant for me, I haven’t commented on football or transfers..?? HH

It certainly is time to flush them out, and then ……
….down the loo
UEFA fining Ajax peanuts.
Ajax soft-soap statement “… will continue to act in order to prevent this misbehavior and punish those responsible.” is pitiful.
Sometimes you just despair … the game is corrupt.
:o(
Twisty.
Spoke to him last night. He said he wasn’t coming through as keeping himself good for tomorrow.
He meantioned his black card protest to me last night..

Young pup in his early 20s but too pashed to remember much of it.
Straight from the Old Barns or the Sara Heed to the gemme in those days.
Didn’t feel in any personal danger but probably due to a combination of booze and that feeling of invincibility one has in his late teens and early twenties.Brains are in our pants at that age.
Distinctly remember one chant from that day at the cops for the whole duration of the charge.
