I’m older than Virgil van Dijk and I’ve seen more football scenarios than he has, so in this respect it is forgivable for him to be talking about Celtic going through the entire league programme undefeated, but Virgil was in the Celtic team who lost at home to Morton less than two months ago, so he really should know the only place to do your talking is on the football field.
Celtic have a rather important game on Tuesday, which the manager will quite rightly be preparing for, making tomorrow’s game against Aberdeen an open race. If Virgil’s (reported) mind-set is shared by many in the dressing room the 7/1 odds against Aberdeen look generous.
Better all-round if we knock any ‘undefeated all season’ talk on the head. It’s fine fare for fans but not for players.
Feeling gutted for the five Celtic fans who failed to get justice in Amsterdam yesterday. The rest of us can busy ourselves campaigning on their behalf but verdict will be a blow to the five and their families.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the current edition of CQN Magazine, not that I want to divert you away, but… The Football Pink magazine is well worth a read. We don’t get to read about Hugo Meisl and the Winderteam enough. Hugo’s in the current issue, along with an excellent article on The history of Irish centre backs, the player loan system, and an article on Gunter Netzer, the midfield general who brought West German football into the modern era.

Last night I posted late that I would no longer drink Dutch beer, if we could get 50,000 Celtic fans around the world to stop drinking Dutch beer say at an average of 2 bottles a day, that would work out at 36 million bottles a year, got hurt somewhere, and if we could get 100,000 to stop how good would that be. My local liquor store has 2500 beers mostly microbrews and they are damn good, so I for one don’t need Dutch beer. Off for a Sierra Nevada and a Sam Adams………..HH
FREE THE 5………..
I was at that match and saw the Police horses in the distance (Janefield St)…..I was way back and remember saying to myself at the time “wee bit of bother wae the other boys on blue” …… only realised just how serious it all was when I read the LL the next morning…..
I’m a demographic of one
By the way, I think KevJ is Kojo
KevJungle:
Tell me mate,
Which direction did the cops charge, East to west or West to east?
If you know horses you’ll easy define a gallop and a cantor, and tell me, did the mounted police have their batons drawn and winging, if you were there and you saw it it’s an easy question to answer.
And mate I reiterate, nobody, nobody, tried to pull the police from their horses, there is not a Celtic Supporter alive, or dead, that stupid.
Hollywood aside.
Unless we’re discussing Embrocation Fanclub membership…
Then I’m a demographic of 6.

Statement from Campbell Ogilvie
Friday, 22 November 2013
Campbell Ogilvie, Scottish FA President: “This week, the Scottish FA’s Compliance Officer has reviewed comments made by the Celtic Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell, at the club’s Annual General Meeting, after receiving an official letter of complaint from Rangers Football Club.
“The Compliance Officer has informed both clubs that there is no actionable breach of the rules. None the less, I am compelled to convey my disappointment that we find ourselves in this position, as a result of an apparent erosion of mutual respect between two of our oldest rivals.
“At a time when Scottish football faces challenges on many fronts, it is incumbent on our biggest clubs to set the highest standards. In this regard both the comments made, and the subsequent time, effort and resource imposed on our Compliance Officer to deal with the complaint, were wholly unnecessary.”
In the aftermath of Janefield Street I was visited by an Inspector William Dorrian who contradicted every word of my witness statement and who spent an hour giving me a multiple choice definition of the speeds at which horses can travel, walk, trot, gallop etc. An exercise in futility. He tried to make me look foolish in front of my dad which I had already made a good job of in the previous 20 years. Scum.
Still feel drawn to the new Sandra Bullock movie.

Answer the question
Did it happen at the Rangers end or the Celtic end OR IN THE MIDDLE?
“If you know horses you’ll easy define a gallop and a cantor”
Horses can sing?

Don’t try tae tell me what I seen didny happen.
Not one fan stood and chinned Lawwelll at this years AGM regarding our miserable transfer policy during the summer especially over the Finnbogasson signing. I find that incredible. We’re they all spending too much time laughing at the Zombies to be bothered.
Another year where the Board get off scot free. Probably went home laughing there heads off at us again.

KevJungle:
You said you were there, I was there, so how far down the Janefield St. did the horses charge?
What happened when the turned around?
How many times di they charge?
(you only need one hand to count)
And only an absolute fool would stand in front of a horse and try to pull its rider off.
So write your story.
so friday night quiz is from australia this week.
Just seen that long list of CQNers, and could’nt find my name on it.

Not sure if anyone heard talksport today, but when they mentioned the game v Aberdeen, they relayed a fact about the 1984 SC Final between the teams that I’d never noticed nor heard mentioned until today. Now obviously a quick google will tell you the answer, so just for fun, if I tell you that the fact was , that from both squads that day, including the subs and coaches, there was only 1 non Scot involved. Quite surprising really. As I say, without googling, who was it?

We should have spent money on a decent striker in Finbogasson .
AGMs every year full of happy clappers. About time we had folk asking the board real questions instead of listening to the usual shite every year.
Lennons net spend in the transfer market is zero. It’s a disgrace
