Commons and football intelligence

1244

Kris Commons return to the Celtic team on Sunday was enormously welcome, even if it didn’t produce his first goal of the season.  Kris has had a wretched season after arriving with a bang from Derby County in January last year.

He is not the most athletic or skilful player in the team but he has an abundance of football intelligence, well in excess of his contemporaries.  The cross-field pass for the second goal against St Johnstone was a perfect example.  Celtic players were rushing forward on a break, while defenders were flooding back.  To the annoyance of many sitting around me, Kris slowed things down, surveyed the field and switched play to Ki on the opposite wing.

This has been a great and memorable season for Celtic but there remains plenty to do.  An hour or so watching Kris Commons is enough to demonstrate the way forward.

On Radio Scotland last night C Young was saying the ‘wee tax bill’ has been ‘settled’. When pushed by Jim Spence, who did seem to be enjoying himself, he didn’t say if this meant paid. He seemed to allude that some agreement was in place to ‘settle’ it. I took from he meant they’d pay the bill without the penalties. Could that be correct? or has he recieved more ‘duff’ info?

This also got me thinking of the PAYE which so far we have not heard anything about and is non-negotiable.

Heard it too and couldnt believe my ears. The hun was not for listening though and clearly wasnt the sharpest tool in the box. Anyone who knows whats going on here can still make Keevins and co. squirm on this issue despite the fact they are finally getting the message. Many a caller in the last week alone have been cut short for confusing the panelists(not hard) with the full detail of the case.

It seems to me that certain journos have finally succumbed to new media, not that they’ll ever admit it;)

  5. Anybody seen the Youtube footage of THAT Souness tackle on the Steaua player at Ibrox? McPhersons first reaction is to say “That’s a booking!” and then Sneaky Sally’s reaction to the Rumanian player holding his own leg is to point and tell the ref “he got the ball”.

I see Tax Credits are being cut to families that cant do another 8 hours work a week tomorrow. Some lossing up too £3000.00 a year .Only the Torys!! Dont they realise that folks are lossing their jobs by the thousands out there?

But I suppose sumdaes got to pay for the tax cuts for the BILLIONAIRES!!

    Only the TORYS!!

Are you listening Murdo?? You should more concerned for these families than your stinking debt ridden, tax evading, masonic minded football club!!

    Mort,

Had they administered the EBT scheme properly, there would be no tax bill.

The fact that a tax bill was issued identifies that HMRC have information which proves the scheme was not administered properly.

The hun owe the tax man hence the penalties. the tribunal is the Hun challenging the evidence.

    No ?

  23. Never liked Rutherglen. You go into most of the pubs and all the heads turn Wild West style. Its has a bit of a “You’re no wanni uz yer wanni rame, intyae?” kind of atmospheres about it. It is still fiercely proud of its burgh status and its “independent identity” from Glesga. Bullshhhhhhhhhhh…always had the impression it was a real Masonic stronghold- the Union Flag the only one above the Toon Hall? Never liked Cambuslang for the same reason…feck…never liked anywhere in Lanarkshire, including EK where I now, unfortunately, reside.

Apologies to anyone who lives in any of the above, if I offended.

    A wee repeat

Super Sammy an avid Rangers fan came home from the pub late on good Friday evening stinking drunk, as he often did especially on Good Fridays but this time he was laden with woe and anxieties due to his clubs circumstances he almost wished he was dead, ruefully he crept into bed beside his wife who was already asleep.

He gave her a peck on the cheek and fell asleep.

When he awoke he found a strange man standing at the end of his bed wearing a long flowing white robe.

“Who the hell are you?” Demanded Sammy, “and what are you doing in my bedroom?”.

The mysterious Man answered, “This isn’t your bedroom and I’m St Peter”.

Sammy was stunned “You mean I’m dead!!! That can’t be, The Newco will happen with a Russian Oligarch in charge throwing millions at the club Keith Jackson and James Traynor said so and I haven’t said good-bye to my family…. you’ve got to send me back straight away”.

St Peter replied “Yes, you can be reincarnated but there is a catch. We can only send you back as a Catholic or a hen.”

Sammy was devastated by his choices, but knowing there was a farm not far from his house, he asked to be sent back as a hen. A flash of light later he was covered in feathers and clucking around pecking the ground.

“This ain’t so bad” he thought until he felt this strange feeling welling up inside him.

Neil the farmyard rooster strolled over and said, “So you’re the new hen, how are you enjoying your first day here?”

“It’s not so bad” replies Sammy, “but I have this strange feeling inside like I’m about to explode”.

“You’re ovulating.” explained Neil, “Don’t tell me you’ve never laid an egg before”.

“Never” replies Sammy “Well just relax and let it happen”.

And so he did and after a few uncomfortable seconds later, an egg pops out from under his tail. An immense feeling of relief swept over him and his emotions got the better of him as he experienced motherhood for the first time. When he laid his second egg, the feeling of happiness was overwhelming and he knew that being reincarnated as a hen was the best thing that ever ever happened to him…ever!!!

The joy kept coming and as he was just about to lay his third egg when he felt an enormous smack on the back of his head and heard his wife shouting:

“Samuel, wake up you drunken bas*ard , you’re sh*tting in the bed!”
