CONFIRMED: ABADA, McCARTHY START

1

LIEL ABADA and James McCarthy get starting places in Ange Postecoglou’s line-up for the Premiership meeting with Aberdeen at Parkhead this afternoon.

Both came on as second-half substitutes in the 3-2 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in Germany on Thursday night, but have been given the nod to face Scott Brown and Co on this occasion.

The Israeli winger comes in for last week’s Premier Sports League Cup semi-final goal hero James Forrest who moves to the substitutes’ bench while McCarthy is a straight swap for the injured Nir Bitton.

Postecoglou will be hoping his team continue their unbeaten domestic run that goes back to mid-September.

Filipe Jota got the winner when the teams met at Pittodrie on October 3 after Kyogo Furuhashi had opened the scoring in the 2-1 triumph.

Today’s game marks the first home match since the sad passing of Bertie Auld at the age of 83 a fortnight ago and will afford the fans the opportunity to pay their own tribute in Paradise to a club legend.

TEAM: Hart; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Welsh, Juranovic; Turnbull, McCarthy, McGregor; Abada, Kyogo, Jota. Subs: Bain, Scales, Montogomery, Soro, Ajeti, Johnston, Forrest.
