NEW Bhoy Liel Abada will make his competitive debut for Celtic against FC Midtjylland in the Champions League second round first leg qualifier at Parkhead this evening.

The £3.5million Israeli international winger will take his place in Ange Postecoglou’s first competitive encounter for the Hoops.

The 19-year-old made his debut as a second-half substitute in the 1-0 weekend loss to Preston, but showed enough to earn a start against the Danes in the crucial confrontation in front of 9,000 fans. Two other summer signings, Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide, are among the substitutes.

Ryan Christie and Nir Bitton also get a chance to impress the new boss.

Callum McGregor, as Scott Brown’s naturall successor, will kick off his career as the club captain as the team look for a good performance and result before the return in Denmark in eight days’ time.

TEAM: Barkas; Ralston, Welsh, Bitton, Taylor; Christie, Soro, Turnbull, McGregor; Abada, Edouard. Subs: Bain, Hazard, Griffiths, Ajeti, Rogic, Bolingoli, Urhoghide, Shaw, Murray, Forrest, Henderson, Montgomery.
