Demonising liquidation carries risk

990

I didn’t hear the scores of other games this weekend until today when I read a red card protest (remember the day Celtic fans gave birth to this concept?) occurred at Ibrox to demonstrate disapproval to any potential new owner who plans to liquidate Rangers.

It would be preferable to everyone if Rangers paid their bills, restoring a degree of dignity, although apparently no one is offering to do this.  Publicly bidders for the club will all confirm their preference is to exit administration via a Creditors Voluntary Arrangement (CVA).  Offering pennies in the pound for a company is unquestionably a great deal, for the buyer, but whoever is nominated as preferred bidder this week is likely to have a serious option to liquidate the club.

Demonising the liquidation option carries risks for Rangers fans.  Short of raising considerably more money than they have thus far and paying their bills, there is little fan power can do right now.  If liquidation is the best option for creditors it will happen, better to accept the reality of the situation.  Whatever the resulting phoenix club is called, if the new owners inherit animosity from the start it will only diminish the potential of their new club.

  1. Evening all

Going to do my March monthly report tomorrow, know its a bit late but can I have a player of the month for March (remember the games were Dundee United away, Aberdeen away, Kilmarnock cup final and the huns). Only four games in March and only one win so potentially a tough choice! But don’t worry, the April report should make good reading in the following mag ;)

Sadly. Abe Lincoln was spot on.

With regards to POTY. Can’t beleive that the greek ghod that is Sammy isn’t being touted. I honestly believe that Sammy has dragged us through quite a few games in recent weeks that we would otherwise have stuttered and dropped points.

aye…up until the last call. Didn’t catch the guys name but he was eloquent and to be honest, it would be worth anyone downloading the podcast just to listen to what he had to say.

Keevins’ response was nothing short of disgraceful.

    Hi Ed

I remember your posts in the early days. It’s amazing how CQN has grown but I hope you can hang around in spite of the negativity (which is way in the minority).

Too much black and white with some comments. If you genuinely haven’t met, or are friends with rankers supporters then fair enough. But don’t come on here and tell me what kind of people the ones I know are.

Thanks for that, looks like we will won’t get the Romanian or the Belgian Champions, only second qualifier winners that are Champions of smaller leagues, and similarly in play offs we should be seeded as either 1st or 2nd seed, no excuses tbh!

A similar sentiment from a fictional character, looking through the other end of that telescope

“Moments snap together like magnets forged in a chain of shackles. Why? I can trace them, I can even with time pull them apart again. But why at the start were they ever magnetized at all. Why those particular moments of experience and no others, I do not know! And nor does ANY BODY ELSE! “

Firmly agree. Sammy has been immense this season, he’s certainly in my top 3 along with Ledley and Mulgrew, not sure who’s No.1 for me yet though…..

  16. POTY is so close between Charlie and Sammi.

I think Sammi has always had it and everyone else is catching up whereas Charlie has improved game on game.

Maybe Charlie simply down to his versatility?

    Thanks for posting that.

Can anyone confirm that the 2nd CL place for Scotland is LOST because RFC(IA) are ineligible? The vacant place being taken up by the next European team in the rankings?

I saw somewhere that this means that Motherwell (or any team that finishes 3rd in the SPL) will NOT qualify “by default” in the CL. The 3rd and 4th SPL teams will qualify for the UEFA cup.

    Any truth in that?
