Commons should be sticking up for VVD surprised he’s not stood up for his teammate. The big man must have his red card recinded the only reason he won’t is because of Oneils ridiculous analysis.

    Agree

  2. Forrest did OK especially in 2nd half. Stokes was poor but he did set up the chance where Griff should have scored but it led to red card and penalty for us. Am I the only one who thought that Griff didn’t seem up for taking the penalty. Almost if there was some disagreement as to who should take it.

We will have to let the dust settle and see who are available for next couple of games. During the game thought Virgil was hard done by but watching replay he did appear to stamp so I reckon there is no chance of it being overturned. Really hope Nir is not seriously injured.

The same SFA Compliance Officer who decided that Elbows had no case to answer for his x-rated ‘challenges’ on Griffiths and Guidetti…?! Gies peace FFS!

Some 20 odd year’s ago my brother-in-law was a ref on the

way up,did some big games including the OF,he told me a

senior ref at the time told be careful of the stand side linesman,

these guys back in the day were the one’s on the way down,

after watching today’s stand side official was thinking the same

is true today……bitter men who never quite made it.

How does one judge the quality if a football fan from a blog ?”

Not sure if I am judging the ` quality` of a football fan from blog comments. I meant to highlight the predictability of some posters after any game which we do not win.

In that sense, I would say those posters are no different from the fans of any other team.

VVD stamped on the DU player …I’ll be astounded if his red card is rescinded

They tried everything today. Old Honest Mistakes himself, did his utmost, but no matter what, he still couldn’t knock Celtic off course !

The free kick he awarded after Ciftci obstructed Emelio on the left was a great example of his agenda. He only blew after the ball broke for Izaguirre who could have advanced into United’s undefended area.

Appeal to the SFA over Virgil’s red card hahaha…………….

bhoylo … I agree with you ..,.. I thought JF wasnt bad in the second half, and I thought JG added some presence when he came on.

Predictions from the same guy that said the game was over at half-time.

We are not talking Nostradamus here.

I agree re KC. Current players shouldn’t do punditry. They have to be careful what they say.

Also if ref saw nothing wrong with Broonie challenge, can he be cited?

  12. The Bhoys seem to have difficulty moving the ball at speed on these dodgy away pitches. Hopefully the next three games go our way.

    It`s cup final week! :-)

Standing up for wee James…I thought he did quite well second half on a poor excuse for a football pitch. Sometimes, I think there are fans (fans?) who want him to fail. Suits their ‘ told you so ‘ attitude.

VVD has to take responsibility for letting his team mates down.

Ciftci should be cited also as ref never seen his kick in the head of broonie ,

  18. Stokesy is the opposite of Samson – the more hair he has, the weaker he becomes.

  19. Broony watches tackles like his own go unpunished on Celtic players, week in and week out. Look as recently as Wednesday at Swanson of St. J.

But I’ve yet to see a Celtic player retaliate with a boot to the opponent’s head.

Ciftci should get 6 games for that. Very dangerous, and an example should be set.

  20. Ray Singh-Carr on

    STFB,

there was not a great need for tracking back today, and yes of course if he makes a successful square pass then one might conclude it is a well placed pass.

My point is that we have any number of players that can perform that role every bit as well as JF.

What he has that others do not is blistering pace, and in order for him to add an extra ingredient to the mix he needs to utilise that wherever possible.

I will concede that he can only do that when he receives passes which allow him to do so, but he seems to wander infield way too often thus removing this offensive option from the team. Granted the pitch today hardly helped matters but we were finding acres of room down the left flank.

I would love to see him doing much more of what he does best, and I appreciate that he cannot opt to go wide all the time, but for me he is left isolated from matches way too often. Whether that is all down to him or not is slightly irrelevant, the net result is that the attacking capabilities of the team are diminished as a result.

  21. Disappointed in Utd’s approach today , lots of diving ( not just the penalty) and constant moaning to the officials.

I suspect they have shot their bolt today and we will steamroller them in the next 3 matches.

Our problem is the CF position, we are not working the opposition CHs , saw a few posters indicating Cifti is the answer , slow as a week in the jail, not for me.

I thought Thomson displayed today what is wrong with Scottish refs , not that he ant off the wrong man, got conned with a dive ( despite being what 15 yards from the crime) , he allowed Utd to start the game via a series of poor challenges , and did nothing about it ; Scott and big Virgil were not for standing about and let that happen.

Plus the player who kneed VVD in the lower region

And the P,Ayer that assaulted Zaluska ( allegedly) will again get off

  25. evening fholks

after another difficult afternoon we are still in the draw and still on course for a treble.

crap pitch, some crap refereeing and we come away with a draw from what could have been a potential banana skin while this weekend our neighbours over on the dark side failed to score against a team who conceded 10 in their previous outing.

life is good right now and an odd off day (remembering we have no divine right to win every game we play) is expected considering the amount of games, dodgy pitches, injuries and mibbery we get.

roll on next week, this is what we look forward to at the start of a season

in seven days time we could be in a semi final, one trophy in the cabinet and top of the league

    hun lurkers……GIRFUY

  26. RD should NEVER have gotten into ANY discussion about a treble.

His only focus since he got here should have been about the NEXT game.

His early season failures were due to him allowing his ‘philosophy’ to get in the way of this.

He didn’t say we WOULD win the treble, but he shouldn’t have entertained any talk about a treble. It just allows folk to deflect and allow other teams to take umbrage about being disrespected.

Now, as suspensions and injuries take hold, and we have to dig further down into the squad, he will find that he will have to pick players who don’t match his identikit of a ‘Ronny player’.

I hope he understands that he may have to adapt his tactics accordingly…

  27. Izzy made a schoolboy error today that gave the Dundee Utd player the chance to dive – and after 45 minutes + 2.

  28. Ellboy - I am Neil Lennon, YNWA. on

Perhaps I’m blinded but VVD was tangled on the ground after the United player brought him down. Trying to release yourself from being tangled is in no way violent conduct. No idea where people are seeing a violent stamp? No question in my mind his red should be recinded!

  29. Jimmynotpaul on

    Weebobbycollins.

I agree. You beat me to it. There were many Celtic players who performed less well than James.

I thought Stokes was awful. Griffiths lack of movement for a up top striker is worrying. Izzy desperate at the pen which was a dive. Nice to hear Ronny calling it as a dive. Our pen definitely a pen, in my opinion, can’t accept it wasn’t deliberate. Why was his arm up high then? As for the other major incident. Can’t believe those fannies at Sky wanted four sent off. Handbags. A couple of yellows at best.

  30. Brown, VVD & Butcher should have been booked at worst. Ciftci should have been sent off. The fact that he only played because he had a two match ban for headbutting anICT player rescinded, and the only reason for that was who the games were against if the ban stood, shows the whole process up for the sham that it is. McCulloch in the semi, nothing, Boyd caught on live tv, not proven, Boerrigter because wee McCann on Sky took the huff, 3 match ban.

    VVD will miss two games

Brownie will get two games retrospectively

    Paton will be rescinded

Ciftci, nothing to see, move along

RD fine and warning for telling the truth

  31. Kris did not say he would dive.

He said he would drive at defenders just like the Dundee lad and make them commit themselves.

Also in Jackies interview he stated everything started with Broonies tackle and then mentioned Ciftis retaliation
