CELTIC’S frozen-out defender Efe Ambrose has dismissed reports he is about to rejoin former Hoops boss Neil Lennon at Hibs.
The 28-year-old Nigerian international is in the final five months of his Hoops contract and has been linked with teams in Germany, France and Turkey.
But Ambrose insisted one club he will not be signing for is the Easter Road Championship pacesetters.
He said emphatically: “It’s not true, I am not joining Hibernian, but I know where I am going soon.”
The erratic back-four performer wouldn’t hint at his next move, but Parkhead gaffer Brendan Rodgers, who has snubbed the player since the Champions League qualifier against Astana in July, believes he will see out his contract at the champions.
French outfit Bastia appear to be the frontrunners for Ambrose when he becomes a free agent in the summer but a January move to Blackburn Rovers is also on the cards.
Efe has indicated that he prefers to remain in the UK and a four year contract at Blackburn could be agreed later today before the English window closes at 11pm.
