Back in July I wrote about Commons “dependence on one creative talent feels like an unnecessary vulnerability”. We remain (unnecessarily) dependent on our only creative talent, as subsequent games without him have established. If he’s not in the starting line-up, we’ll need a radical change of system.
Bringing a second creative talent to the club should be a priority. On this subject, I hear Bosnian fulcrum, Semir Stilic, who we were reportedly interested in a few years ago, before he detoured for a indifferent spell in Turkey, is now back in Poland with Wisla Krakow and eclipsing his earlier form for Lech Poznan. We could do worse.

Great wee place, There’s a tiny beach bar at the north end of the beach, had my breakfast of Mojitos every morning, only 3 euros!. Plenty of quality restaurants, find them in the old town.Irish bar on the front shows the games. A must is the narrow gauge railway. South to Benidorm, avoid the “English quarter”, terrible . A “Must do” is the train to Denia. Find Deniabhoy, I failed miserably, but Denia is a wee gem . Sat in the old square there and discovered Hendriks, not been the same since! ! ! The Calpe railway station has a great wee bar, so it does not matter what time you turn up, just enjoy the beer and tapas in the station for 2 minutes or two hours. Nice friendly couple run the place.

Haven’t even booked flights yet. POssibly escaping from 11th October, flying to Alicante and then to an apartment. best deal by far was a huuuuuuuge villa in Calpe but as I’d never heard of the place I was (and remain) a little wary.
