Back in July I wrote about Commons “dependence on one creative talent feels like an unnecessary vulnerability”. We remain (unnecessarily) dependent on our only creative talent, as subsequent games without him have established. If he’s not in the starting line-up, we’ll need a radical change of system.

We could do worse.

You just got a snapshot of a training session. It gives you no idea of the intensity of the whole experience.
Nobody trains flat out over a complete session in any sport.

Have to say I wasn’t happy at getting knocked out by Maribor but I am happy to be in Europa League.
It was much more enjoyable watching Celtic compete in Salzburg to earn a deserved draw rather than being out of their depth in a CL match.
This is a good level for us so hopefully a win tomorrow/later today will set us up for European football after Christmas that would be great.

Can’t say for sure but it might be worth trying the Ace Club in Maadi.
