I’m hoping suggestions Stefan Scepovic and Kris Commons are struggling for fitness for Thursday is a classic attempt at European football disinformation.
Back in July I wrote about Commons “dependence on one creative talent feels like an unnecessary vulnerability”. We remain (unnecessarily) dependent on our only creative talent, as subsequent games without him have established. If he’s not in the starting line-up, we’ll need a radical change of system.
Bringing a second creative talent to the club should be a priority. On this subject, I hear Bosnian fulcrum, Semir Stilic, who we were reportedly interested in a few years ago, before he detoured for a indifferent spell in Turkey, is now back in Poland with Wisla Krakow and eclipsing his earlier form for Lech Poznan. We could do worse.
Shocked and stunned at the news Rangers International’s nomad, Daniel Stewart Securities PLC, have had trading in their shares suspended by the Stock Exchange as they were unable to file their accounts to year-end 31 March 2014 on time. The Ibrox club’s board will be incredulous that the diligence they carried out to ensure they were dealing with an advisor of standing overlooked some fundamentals.
Four days out from the Great Scottish Run, which I’m doing for the Foundation’s work for Health, Equality, Learning and Poverty. This is our Foundation, established and run by Celtic fans for 19 years. It’s an important part of the story of where our club came from and what’s important to our mission. Any donations here, from £1 up, are welcome.
Thanks to everyone who has helped.

Despite being one of the grumblers, that outburst makes me warm to Ronny. He is putting himself up there to be shot down, which some might regard as naive, but at least it shows strong inner belief.
The advantage of these Rangersless times is Celtic have room for manoeuvre with Ronny’s plan. Fast forward a year, and I’ll be happy to say I was one of the grumblers who got it wrong.
(Still think he should go 4-3-1-2, mind)

Rocket Ronny showing he’s stressed in latest press conference.
Worried about tonight. (Me).

lions roar.
Nae baar m8… thought thats what you meant! ;-))
HH.
If Scepovic and Commons are not fit to start tonight I would go with the following.
Gordon
Izzy
VVD
Denayer
Fisher
Ambrose
Johanssen
Brown
Berget
Griffiths
Stokes
Ambrose is not a full back. Play a full back there. Fisher played in our shut out record last season and is able. Get him in.
Play Ambrose in the sitting role and get Johanssen further up the pitch because he is murder in the holding role and he is a goal threat. I would play Berget for his height (If he is fit) and his ability to play the flanks. He reminds me a bit of Samaras. You never know quite what he will do but is also a goal threat. McGregor should be benched and brought on as an impact player. Once Berget has run himself into the ground unleash McGregor with his pace to cause problems.
Griffiths and Stokes can play together and have goals in them. 2 up front with Griffiths grafting as usual working back and tackling which is his nature.
Obviously pending fitness of certain players notably Scepovic and Commons this is the team I would go for.
I’m not the gaffer though. Come on Ronny get us a result.

Don’t have long to spend on the blog this morning but hoping to see a few familiar faces before the game tonight.
Interesting article I think links well to Celtic’s problems in defence recently:

Enjoy!
Hail Hail!
Just touchd down in Free Glasgow and looking forward to the game. Having read Ronny’s press conference, I’m reminded a bit of Guarduola’s ‘break down’ pre match agianst Mourinho’s Madrid in CL semi – Barca won. So will we. A bit of fire and a kick up the arse now and again is a good thing.

We will be waiting a very long time for any criticism of Sir Dave of the Dodges in the media.
Between the debt absorbed by LLOYD’STSB, the red figure left by MIH ,the creditors left in the lurch prior to him being duped, his ego has caused so much pain & loss to so many people.
The media should be all over the Charlotte Square charlatan for his greed and abuse of power.
Him and the deid club deserved each other.
Our only hope is someone in the English media can get their teeth into this story but I’m not holding my breath.
A poster earler posted Zagreb’s euro away record, I hope it’s not tempting fate for tonight.
We have to be brave, focused, disciplined & determined tonight and don’t give Zagreb players an invitation to get fouls in around or box.

I watched this team play a European Cup Winners Cup tie on the 4th of December 1963 when we won 3-0 at home against our opponents that night, lets hope we can get a similar result tonight, the opposition that night in 1963 was Dinamo Zagreb.
Was there that night.People forget how well this team did in Europe that year.We were novices in Europe at that time. The previous season was our first attempt at it,and we went out 4-2 on aggregate to,I think,Valencia. The 1963 season we were 3-0 up at Celtic Park against MTK Budapest, and lost 4-0 in the away leg.Someone correct me if I am wrong, long time ago,but this could have been the semi final,if not defo the quarters.
Can remember as a kid being heartbroken at that score.
LIONROARS67 0605
Absolute rubbish.
The article concerns an exhibition by Shelter, the homeless charity. It mentions politics once-‘
He met one woman – Mrs Chichockjy – in Liverpool in July 1971, who had been visited at their home by then Housing Minister, Peter Walker. She told the photographer that Mr Walker had said it ‘wasn’t fit for human habitation’ – before adding ‘and I’m still here’.
The comment about playstations is simply a comparison of relative poverty, then and now.
If you think the Mail could blame Labour for the state of housing in the country at a time when those councils were largely Labour-controlled,it would be easily countered by pointing out who controlled those cities when the slums were built. And which administrations embarked on slum clearance programmes.
Not everything is party politics. Not even in the Mail. Sometimes it’s simply about human suffering. Steps taken to improve the lot of the less well-off. And how far we still have to go to finish that job.
Political posturing goes a long way to explains why we haven’t.
A new fitness regime for Lennoxtown
I’m loving Ronny Deila more every day!
Did anyone see the Arsenal match last night?
They looked like super fit athletes and they played with terrific pace.
Do you think we will ever see a Celtic team looking that good?
We will if Ronny gets his way and I hope he does.
Time for these Celtic “superstars” earning thousands a week to shape up or ship out!!
Maybe the guys who are not getting a game are the one’s who are not adhering to the new fitness and diet regime.
Sitting in the stand with a long face won’t get them picked for the side.
If I was 20 and just signing for Celtic I’d gladly live in a monastery to be a success at Celtic.
Too many prima donna’s at Celtic Park just now, taking your hard earned cash for doing hee haw apart from standing in the bar at the Corinthian ’til 3 in the morning.
Weed them out Ronny!!!
Your the Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Popped in to say good luck to the buoys tonight and hope for more progress under Ronny.
So Ronny gets it in the neck for not looking animated and now gets it in the neck for looking animated. I’m thinking some bhoys just want the guy to fail to prove they’re right.
Believe me. This is a cross roads for the club. We have more to lose as a club from the Ronny experiment than he has, Fail and we return to some Neil Lennon mk 11 downgrade in Paul Hartley or Jackie MacNamara. Tattoos will grow as will waistlines.
24 hour athletes is the least we can ask for in people paid a small ransom in this country.
4-3-3
Gordon
Fisher VVD Denayer Izzy
Brown Bitton Johannsson
Commons Scepovic Wakuso
Turkeybhoy the MTK game was indeed the semi final.
While Mo Farah, Wilson Kipsang and Tsegaye Kebede sip their isotonic drinks and feast on pasta on Saturday night, a certain working-class hero from the north of England will be gulping down his fish ‘n chips and finishing off a spot of welding before getting an early-morning train down to the capital to take them on in the London Marathon.
Chips never did this man any harm.Alf Tupper is back!!!
Although Ronnies selections puzzle me at times,I really liked his interview .He is right about the Van Gaal thing. The English press fawn over him,his every utterance is revered, and so far he has been an unmitigated flop.Cue the difference in our MSM.
All I know is,I played at a pretty good level in the Middle East, and the fitter I was,the better I felt and played.
