Evidence mounts as Celtic look set to further improve

930

I’d a look at the fixture list preseason and didn’t expect we’d be top of the table so early, having played only three games with 10 teams having played four, and two of those games coming against our nearest challengers from last season.

But we stepped up to the task. The earlier win at Tynecastle and beating Aberdeen 4-1 on Saturday has issued a warning to all. Bookmakers are offering Celtic’s title odds of between 2/9 and 1/7, and have created a separate ‘Betting without Celtic’ competition. One of Brendan’s jobs will be to remind players that they need to earn the points every time the whistle goes. Defeats come quickly to teams operating at 95%.

Not that we had it all our own way on Saturday. Aberdeen disrupted our rhythm and passing in the middle part of the game. You can see how Brendan has changed the way we use the ball in possession, but there’s still a bit of work to do for it to become more natural looking.

The goals were outstanding. Leigh Griffiths’ effort would be immortalised in song, if one of the Barcelona players due to visit Celtic Park soon had managed it. Tom Rogic’s technique is of particular importance.

Celtic face a lot of packed defences; having someone able to reliably hit an unstoppable shot from around 22 yards changes how a defence will shape up to play us. This is a player Leeds United thought they could buy for £1m recently.

I was pleased to see Dorus de Vries make his debut. He had little to do, and could do nothing about the Aberdeen goal, but if he’s to be relied upon in any of the important games ahead he needed an outing as a Celtic player.

It was equally important Erik Sviatchenko came through 90 minutes with Kolo Toure. The defence is set for some almighty challenges ahead, and will need to face them with little common game-time to allow partnerships to be cemented.

There’s a degree of trepidation for the Champions League task ahead, but pretenders to our domestic dominance beware: evidence mounts that this is a good Celtic team – one which will continue to improve for some time to come.

Defo Ibrox one. Must have just been my dads favourite song then. We were 2-0 down at half time. I watched it back on Sportscene with him that night. I wasn’t allowed near derby matches then. :-)))

The Johnny Doyle/10 men game 4-2 game was at Celtic Park on a midweek; there was no TV coverage because of industrial action so it wisnae on Sportscene. That was in 1979.

The game you refer to was in 1983 and was the last game Charlie Nicholas played before he went to Arsenal.

Memories are easily confused form childhood. Still, both were brilliant games!

    1. Aulldheid photo has been widely shared on zombie sites.

    2. BRTH has been accused of being a CelticPLC plant.

    3. Paul67 has been accused of failing to account to a Res12 signaturor who also claims BRTH is a plant.

    4. The matter has apparently been reported to the Police.

    5. The Res12 boys have taken a payment from CelticPLC to kick Res12 into the long grass.

    6. The letter from UEFA – not leaked by Res12 guys of by CQN – is a fake.

    7. The invoice for the Same Club myth ad with Winning Captains’ personal details was given by the Herald newspaper to vile bigots.

    8. This vile bigot seems to have a relationship with a poster on here who claims to have on his laptop all the evidence to prove that the Res12 guys are nasty villains.

    9. The poster when he comes on here is immediately followed by the good cop – neither of them have met anyone from CQN.

    10. Winning captains is a muppet who doesn’t know that French isn’t the language spoken in England.

So in conclusion Paul is a crook, the Res12 guys have been bought off, UEFA never said they are a new club, Winning Captains is a muppet but they know where he lives and everyone on CQN has been taken in by these characters.

Every time you come out with something stupid the desire is to put you straight.

The risk in doing so in public is that what is said to correct you is picked up and used as ammo against not just Res12, but CQN.

So there will be no response other than to say you are as ill informed as ever which leads to the stupid statements you make, but as you are ignorant because of the strategy adopted, then its not fair to say you are stupid, although a wise man might want to be surer of his ground.

On the same basis it could be shown that Kill Ultra is part basing his suspicion on something he thinks is true, but records show is miles off, so same non response to that.

Honestly this guy REALY has a big tip for himself, aloof, pompous, and arrogant, (seeing that being called stupid and ignorant is form of reply) seems to be the MO of the R12 cabal, this is what you’ll get if you ever question them, or called a troll, or a Hun, I’m not a Hun they know that, a troll? If asking questions on R12 makes you …accordingto them a troll? Then in they’r eye I must be one?

When you think your bigger more clever, and higher than anyone who disagrees with you on what you say or do, the landing from that fall will hurt bad,

I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with kill ultra on anything that’s another toilet visit, but there is an awful lot of people on here ganging up on the guy and the pappa55 guy too.

It seems that every time any one makes a post on disagreement with these guys they are all over you like a pack of rabid dogs, for having your own opinions is what it is in here as long as it’s in the COC, the man said that yesterday, as Awe Naw crossed the line with me and was rightfully put in his place and I thank blogger p67 for that.

Making accusations to someone with a moniker is just that its a moniker, I don’t have a moniker Tony Donnelly is my name, I exist, I’m a real person, my own person, some may think I’m stupid and others may think I’m ignorant fair enough, but to be called it from a guy with a moniker WOW!

Do you honestly think I care Auldheid? Who ever you are?

I haven’t read many books that have been that grim but that engrossing (Birdsong was a mightily depressing – and lengthy – read but another that captured my attention). It is a real talent for an author to be able to do that. I read a critique on The Road which discussed the author’s views on the present, the future and mankind and also delved into why we find these types of stories (dystopian futures, end of the world, zombies etc) so fascinating. If I can find it again I’ll post it – a very interesting read.

@MACJAY1 @MATS Are you guys kidding? Engage trolls with “reasoned argument”?! No offence, but have you ever met the Internet?

Emeraldbee’s article was 100% correct–as soon as you engage with these types, they have won. It has become increasingly apparent that troll culture bears (sic) a strong resemblance to the culture of TRFC. One recent article described the typical troll M.O. as “weaponised insincerity”–I can’t think of a better way to describe the sleekit antics that the likes of J. Traynor used to get away with in the Scottish media. I say “used to” because that nonsense just won’t fly any more–too many people have too much information. Which is why the likes of Level 5 are now trying to disrupt influential blogs that tell inconvenient truths about their paymasters/overlords.

Here’s a recent article about the troll phenomenon. It’s from the US, so there’s no football content–but the parallels are obvious.
