Always thought Hartley and Robson were sold too soon and in Hartley’s case was constantly played out of position in the holding role – he was a terrier who did his best work sitting just behind the forward/s.
They were perfect for tough SPL games – ICT away furrinstance…
Salmond Must shirley be allowed a new world wide summit to explain the first one to his prospective Global partners.

I thought Hartley, Mc Donald and Robson were not Celtic class and a clear sign of our downsizing. Still do.
Mon the hoops today.
Good to see Big Dan back … His prescence allows Victor to move further up the pitch.

Totally agrre that Barry Robson was sold too soon, always thought he was one of those players withy the right attitude and a bit of ability, not a world beater but definately good enough for spl level and never let us down. He seems to be doing ok with boro too.
Anyway glad to see stokes and hooper both playing and ledley back in midfield (hopefully) in the middle with wanyama shoul provide a solid platform.
superb tennis -one of the best games ever, well done Djoko -awesome- grit, power and bundles of skill
5 mins build up to Celts game on aunty beeb….why did they bother bidding for it ?

An interesting team selection. I think this is a very good side, but would have concerns with Cha/Forrest as a partnership, particularly defensively.
However, Cha’s best play has come as an attacking RB when Celtic have gone 4-3-3, and with these players, that would be the formation I’d hope to see, with Forrest joining the attack and Ledley tucking into midfield.

Come on the Bhoys – Make us proud today.
I know I have harped on repeatedly here on CQN about footballers’ physical and psychological conditioning and I am going to do so again.
I was at the Kelvin Hall yesterday to witness the athletics.
Today, having watched Novak & Rafael try to pound each other into submission for SIX HOURS, I simply cannot relate the effort (before and during matches) of footballers to that of other sportsmen.
For those of you who didn’t watch it – these two lads had to go to some seriously dark places in their hearts and minds just to win a POINT let alone a game, a set or a match.
They had nothing left.
In all honesty, how many of our players can look themselves in the mirror after a match and say “I left it all out there today”?
Under Jock Stein Celtic were, quite simply, the fittest footballers in the world.
If Celtic are to become a force in Europe again we must rip up the current training manual, not aim to be just the fittest in Scotland and get our players into the kind of jaw-dropping eye-catching condition that other sportsmen and women achieve as a matter of routine.

Oh dear just as i say how good i think barry robson is he makes a MAJOR error to gift sunderland an equaliser!!!!
Shows you what i know!!!!
Anyway i can turn over now and watch the proper match
Awe naw – I bizarrely agree with your thoughts as both Robson and Hartley were found out on the European stage – but I stand by my thoughts that they were great SPL players who had a lot of ‘dig’ – something that can be lacking in our young team…

RE Margaret Mcgill, Falkirk must be good odds of a pen on those stats. lol ; )
Barry Rosbon has scored 8 goals in 22 for Boro I think… 2 or 3 less than Scott McDonald.

both tones of dig for spl and i wouldnt have minded keeping robbo and buying Zico when he was younger and skippy was too huffy for me and never played as a team player. but not the worst 3 players by any stretch of the imagination.
