    Ano :(

Not that I think we Ciftci is good enough but what chance for the boy…no game time, lacking confidence and expected to play up front on his lonesome!

  2. ruggygman on 10th December 2015 6:52 pm

Craig Gordon is a shite-bag of the highest order. An absolute mouse of a man. Also culpable in nearly every Europa league match. Ronny could improve his chances of survival in the manager hot seat, by getting shot of the big gimp with gloves

That is juvenile nonsense son. I assume you are aff yer heid?

  3. Mahe the Madman on

It’s our passing that concerns me most. Just can’t find teammates. Night and day watching them pass then watching us fail. Bitton and Jo don’t seem to mesh.

    Hail Hail

  4. eddieinkirkmichael on

Is it just me or can others hear the calls for Ronny to go being pulled out the cuboards as the usual suspects sharpen their knives in anticipation of another forgetful Euro campaign, this seAson joins a list of Euro disasters started way back in ’74

  5. glendalystonsils on

Seen enough of Ciftci to know he’s a dud. Ditto the impetuous Johansen. In addition we have other players who are not duds but are playing like duds…..Gordon, Bitton.

Of course the manager can’t be blamed for the mistakes or the dreadful passing but he should be sending his team out sharp and confident in knowing what they are doing.

  6. A young Celtic team holding their own in a tough environment can expect more from the centre forward who is out his depth.

    The cheap option ain’t working.

The most experienced player is snoozing when a basic through ball results in a conceded goal.

Craig Gordon deserves pelters. To slow and not aggressive enough.

    Wee GS is being diplomatic.

  7. TBJ says Wee Oscar Knox is in heaven with the angels on

    Phil boy

Couldn’t manage a season as Lincoln manager. . After earning millions he bankrupts …

Now he gives advice on football and finance management

Not only is he getting paid to bite the hand that fed him he enjoys it

  8. lennon's passion on

Strachan saying Gordon done nothing wrong. There player is scared and got lucky. To me Gordon looked like a shitebag.

  9. He was easily first to the ball and should have dived on it or put it in the stand. But to do neither was criminal and just destroyed a decent first half of defending.

As for cifti.. never a celtic frontman.

    Deary me

  10. Nothing wrong with the formation in my view. Johansen was slow and Gordon fell for a dummy.

Man on the ball not pressed.

Players will get better at this style in time. Great not having 2 slow players in CM. Biton and Brown split up gives us proper attacking options. Never have both.

  11. I have been saying for weeks, play Bailey. Gordon is ha.ving a very poor season. Earlier on didn’t deal well with a long range effort recovered OK to get a touch to the second shot & put it over bar. Another near post one, think he got a touch but came off the post. He has been responsible for a lot of poor goals this season.

Overall I thought our set up was better, we defended OK but you can’t win games if you keep giving dreadful goals away.

Ciftci does not inspire confidence, it’s hard to see where a goal from us will come from. Pressure is off them now, wish the bloody game was over. I’d take 0-1 now.

  12. mike in toronto on

dont have a feed for the game today, so cant comment on it ….

but, small consolation … if it stays like this, at least Ajax are out as well.

  13. Gordon needed dropped months ago. He has been at fault for most goals in Europe.. including Efe’s howler. he could have saved that.. Also beaten too often at near post and never came off his line for a few goels e’g Away Ajax and Molde

  14. eddieinkirkmichael on

God, how good would it be if Gordon S posted on CQN, a true Celt of the highest order always looks for the positive in any situation when it comes to Celtic

  15. When you really think about it, and are honest with yourself, forget what the media tell you, just think about it.

Why in Gods name would Ronny sign a player like Ciftci, and you can add Carlton Cole to that as well, as far removed from his kinda player that is possible to be.

    Thank you John

  16. I am really pissed off with the team at the minute but you have to be a really special supporter to call a Celtic player a shitebag

  17. Bhoys and Huns, just got a message from Grand master suck, can the usual suspects on here, please make sure you are back on follow follow no later than 9pm…

  18. Some of the comments on here about Chris Sutton are very unfair. He praised Craig Gordon several times prior to Craig’s howler. He has to comment on what he sees, what we all see. Indeed, the criticism of CG on here was much more severe than Chris’s comments.

I think Chris hurts, as we do, when we see poor performances from Celtic.

  19. CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on

The really worrying thing is that Ciftci was our NUMBER ONE SIGNING TARGET…how crap must numbers 2,3,4, etc be?

  20. eddieinkirkmichael on

Aff pot for 10 mins or so, just checking the next door neighbour has tools his mess and hasn’t died since the missus was in a few hours ago. No falling out while I’m gone Bhoys and Ghirls

  21. Ruggyman

I think a gimp has gloves by default so maybe the goalie gloves over the leather studded ones us the problem ……

  22. CG has not been the same player since his Inter fiasco. That seems to have shattered his confidence. A break can do him no harm. He needs to be away from pressure for a while.

  23. Gordon did what most keepers do in that situation – chose to spread himself in anticipation of the forward getting there first.

Unfortunately the Fenerbache player bottled it, and CG could have kicked/scooped up the ball. But in that split second he was attempting to make himself large as he could, had his eye on the man and not the ball, and the ball ran between his legs.

Fenerbachce boy got really lucky, was still on his feet to skip round Gordon and cut it into the net at a tight angle.

Gordon looks the chump, but what he did, 90% of the time is any top keeper’s choice. He’ll regret underestimating himself getting to the ball first.

  24. Some observations from the first half:

    Ciftci

    What’s the point?

    Wattenaccio

If we’re going to play a 4-6-0 we need to have quick players running through to exploit the ball into the space beyond the defensive line (like Fenernahce did), but Forrest and Rogic are on the bench and Griffiths is Christmas shopping in the Grand Bazaar. Ciftci, Armstrong, Bitton, Johansen, McGregor and Allan are never going to outpace the defenders.

    Passing to a team-mate…

I noted the passing sequances during the last 5 or 6 minutes of the first half. Fener made 31 passes to team-mates (before losing possession) in 6 sequences, for an average of 5.2 passes per sequence. Celtic made 9 passes to team-mates in 7 sequences, for an average of 1.2 passes! Basically any Celtic player receiving a pass is almost guaranteed to immediately concede possession!

    …Thinking football

The previous observation is largely down to the fact that we seldom seem to have players moving towards the ball or into space to give the player in possession simple options to offload a pass. So when our players do receive the ball they are immediately under pressure from one or more opponents and have little or no time to control the ball and find a team-mate who is available to receive the ball.

I hope Ronny as his coaching staff scrutinise the match video very thoroughly after this one. There is a lot to be learned from it!

  25. Jungle Jim Hot Smoked on

I agree with TBJ and Philbhoy. Sutton is very anti-Celtic. WHere I differ , though, is that I do not think he is a soup- taker. I believe, for a reason I don`t know, he has a grudge against Celtic. No matter. As long as he is negative, the Media will like him. He is certainly not hter because of his tactical nous. The man is a fool.

    MIT

Yes. Ajax being out will please me as well ( because of their supporters. I have nothing against the team).

Right, back to the game . 1-0 my new prediction.

  26. CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on

Feeling sorry for Ciftci- so far out of his depth it’s embarrassing for him

  27. Wow Gordon is pure dungbox

    He is our weakest link

    New goalkeeper needed pronto

    Maradominic

    Spot on analysis about Gordon

He’s is why were out of Europe

He is at fault for most of our goals

    Our defence looks nervous

    Because of him

Tactically speaking, I believe I’ll have another bourbon and thank my lucky stars I wisnae born a hun. My own formation is sure to become increasingly wobbly as the match progresses.
