Fog of stress begins to lift from Lennon

980

A line has hopefully been drawn under the stress Neil Lennon has lived under during the last two years with the conviction of two men found guilty of sending bombs in the post.  In a statement, Neil said: This has been a very stressful and difficult time for myself and my family and clearly I am glad that it is over”, before adding, “I will forever be thankful to the Police for the way in which they have handled this matter.”

Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawwell, added: “No one could imagine the pressure [Neil Lennon] has been under during the past two years.  He has coped with this particular episode, last year’s assault and the, at times, seemingly unrelenting attacks from many quarters.

“In my opinion, no-one in Scottish footballing history has had to contend with this level of pressure whilst trying to do their job.  Neil Lennon is someone who has shown tremendous character and resilience, and we will continue to support Neil in any way we can.”

This month has been made all the more difficult for Neil Lennon by the sudden death of Paul McBride, also a target of the bombing campaign.  Neil Lennon said, “Finally, I would like to mention my good friend Paul McBride.   His sad passing remains very raw to those close to him, we continue to miss him dearly and my thoughts remain very much with Paul’s family.”

The SFA have written to Neil Lennon three times since the start of the trial earlier this month to capitalise on perceived transgressions by the Celtic manager while yesterday a former referee used his newspaper column to undermine Neil’s position at Celtic.

These people really do need to get a grip.

Within minutes of the verdict being announced yesterday news of Stilian Petrov’s serious illness was made public.  Stilian will received the very best medical attention and all our prayers.

So if we beat St Johnstone and Kilmarnock we’ll be champions, i wonder how much media coverage our feat will engender from the scottish media if the cheating bigots team are liquidated on wed/thurs/fri of this coming week

When he does not need to be liked but stays personable anyway, then will young grasshopper McCoist become stronger.

Like everyone life presents him with endless opportunities to act from free will instead of need.

The pain he is currently experiencing at the loss of his club is such an opportunity.

He will either become stronger or wait for the next opportunity to come along. C’est la vie.

If the huns go bust before the split I guess they can’t fulfill their fixtures. Does the next team below the split get their place in the top six?

Someone somewhere is going to have one less game to play, no?

That doesn’t seem fair. Could an extra fixture be arranged and how would that be chosen?

they`re the ones who stand to lose the most if the huns are liquidated and a new co is given direct entry into the SPL

  12. Is there an opportune time to liquidate?

Probably not something we should bother asking Duff and Duffer.

  14. Evening all,

got 3 spare tickets for tomorrow, £26 each. North Stand Upper, Area 409.

Can meet outside the superstore before the game if anyone is interested.

Be aware, they are print at home tickets, so fully understand if the buyer wants me to go to the turnstile with them to make sure they work ;-)

I care in a way that i’m suspicious about thems orchestrating the timing of their liquidation, is it even possible that they can do that ? So that in that Mississippi Burning kind of fashion our manager is denied his moment of glory again due to their hatred of us and all the media talk will be about poor thems.

I don’t believe their poisonus mentality is going to disappear with the liquidation of their club that both worries and depresses me.

On the other hand it could be a real jelly and ice cream title party to end all title parties.

    Exactly what my response was.

There’s far bigger fish for hmrc to fry than rangers and a big result and the probable liquidation that will follow will have , I’m pretty sure, some English clubs looking out the chequebook to settle the claims that will follow a successful HMRC result.

  20. A truly classless inclusion from the hunterloper tonight but , sadly, in keeping with his character.

It’s hard not to react to protect our own but the best testimony we can pay to Stan Petrov is to rise above the faux-sympathy designed to provoke.

Stan Petrov’s fight is much, much, more important than some hurting hun.

The Exiled Tim …….Paul Murray tweeted today that he was worried about Ticketus agreeing to a repayment term, and heavily criticised the administrators re getting rid of cw …… In other words, things aren’t working out as he was hoping they would, and he is now a worried little bidder …… He fears liquidation, if there isn’t a quick shift in the current situation ….. The radio punters discussed it all and came to the conclusion that the bhuns fans were being prepared for the shock of liquidation……doo doo

There can be no good time for liquidation , surely.

I agree their mentality will not change , at least in the short term , and may worsen if newco are parachuted into the SPL.

For that reason , if no other , I believe they should be put in D3 , in exactly the same way players who think they’re bigger than a club get punted to train with the youths. A lesson needs to be handed out. Some things are more important than money.

If only the SPL chairmen thought the same way. I’m not holding my breath.

IF they go into liquidation this week, they end up relegated, no? Considerably weakens their case for readmittance to SPL

    ————————————————————

If they we were to liquidate it would constitute such an insolovency event that even the SFA could neither ignore it or interpret it in such a way that it was not really an insolvency event.

This would require the SFA to withdraw their club licence to play football – anywhere.

Other matters like paying players, police, admin staff would present a problem.

Like a nun crossing a zebra, now you see it now you dont. :)

  28. Kojo,

a win against St. Johnstone tomorrow puts us 18 points clear and played the same number of games.

The following Saturday morning games against Kilmarnock should put us 21 points ahead with our opponent having only 6 more games and a total of 18 points .

The simple answer is 2 more victories makes us CHAMPIONS, so lets

STAND UP FOR THE CHAMPIONS ELECT.
