Fog of stress begins to lift from Lennon

980

A line has hopefully been drawn under the stress Neil Lennon has lived under during the last two years with the conviction of two men found guilty of sending bombs in the post.  In a statement, Neil said: This has been a very stressful and difficult time for myself and my family and clearly I am glad that it is over”, before adding, “I will forever be thankful to the Police for the way in which they have handled this matter.”

Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawwell, added: “No one could imagine the pressure [Neil Lennon] has been under during the past two years.  He has coped with this particular episode, last year’s assault and the, at times, seemingly unrelenting attacks from many quarters.

“In my opinion, no-one in Scottish footballing history has had to contend with this level of pressure whilst trying to do their job.  Neil Lennon is someone who has shown tremendous character and resilience, and we will continue to support Neil in any way we can.”

This month has been made all the more difficult for Neil Lennon by the sudden death of Paul McBride, also a target of the bombing campaign.  Neil Lennon said, “Finally, I would like to mention my good friend Paul McBride.   His sad passing remains very raw to those close to him, we continue to miss him dearly and my thoughts remain very much with Paul’s family.”

The SFA have written to Neil Lennon three times since the start of the trial earlier this month to capitalise on perceived transgressions by the Celtic manager while yesterday a former referee used his newspaper column to undermine Neil’s position at Celtic.

These people really do need to get a grip.

Within minutes of the verdict being announced yesterday news of Stilian Petrov’s serious illness was made public.  Stilian will received the very best medical attention and all our prayers.

When rfc meet with the SPL and SFA to pass on the news that they are bust, a letter will be pushed across the table which rfc have to sign, acknowledging that they been relegated. They then get a second letter to sign acknowledging that they had their license revoked.

After that they will be asked who they represent, which they will reply no one. They will then be asked to leave the premises.

    Cheers pal,

Got the impression the clip they lads had watched had no commentary, so they could perhaps here the incident a little better. Maybe I’m wrong tho. Either way I’d love to know what the fat snake said, hopefully we will find out one day.

How sweet it will be to see Lenny hoist that cup high!

Rumour is that ALL RFC bidders, now opting to down the liquidation route. If SPL do not grant RFC 2012 a licence then watch for another club being bought and SFA licence being transferred.

Penny dropping but in slow motion ;¬)

Apparently the Sunday Herald have a interview with the Admin tomorrow where they openly talk about liquidation. Additionally Paul Murray is having meetings with Ticketus all week and about a final bid for Wednesday, apparently the chat coming out of his corner isn’t positive – as quoted today, he has large reservation as to why the Admin has not started court proceeding to remove CW as major share holder. He is quoted as saying that he can start court proceedings himself to remove CW and may act on this next week, but it would be preferable that the admin acted on this.

    Difficult days ahead.

    #######

Darryl King has been saying as much on Clyde 1 all day. His opinion is… We’ll go into liquidation by the end of next week.

    ######

Well he had BK ready to buy the club and take this mess under control but the admin said no. And what about the player cuts as well? Remember those wage cuts that would keep the club running, something is amiss here, I really don’t trust the administrators

    ######

I’d rather play in the highland league, than lose years of history.

Supporting rangers is more than just winning, I’d quite happily go and play cove rangers with ally as player manager, than start a fresh. No surrender.

    ######

The way I see this Wednesday deadline is…. It’s basically the last throw of the dice to get a very late bid from somebody else.

It’s worrying in the last few days, we’ve had Ally McCoist, Mark Hateley etc mention Liquidation. It’s like they’re preparing us for it. Very worrying times.

    ######

Must be honest, but sick of the whole thing and something is not right here. The whole thing stinks with the fans being taken for mugs.

    ######

But the Club 9 bid doesn’t include Ticketus, which means that they are still creditors to the tune of £18m, unless they want to try and convince a judge again. TBK with Ticketus on board means less creditors. Having said that, why Ticketus want to be part of TBK is definitely up for debate.

    ######

    Liquidation :anguish:

Why get our hopes up with the news a few weeks go that there was 5 bidders and then they amount to nothing? Refuse to beleive a club of our size and with our history would have to resort to liquidation :(

    #####

I won’t be following a newco should it happen

I still don’t think it will happen though

I doubt anything would be picked up over the sound of the crowd. If you are keen you could trawl through all the search results for “LennonMcCoist fight” in Youtube. We’ll just have to wait for Neil to spill the beans.

  10. When we discussed Neil Lennon’s ban last Sunday I said that we in Poland played 400 games this season and none of the coaches was sent to the dressing room during the game. That was until yesterday. Yesterday my Legia Warsaw played the game against Wisla in Cracow. When our second player got second yellow card, few our players tried to persuade the referee that he was wrong. That accident happened very close to the technical area and when atmosphere became to hot, our coach made few steps on the pitch to tell our players to step back on the positions. When the coach was getting back he had short chat with technical assistant. Next to that, another our player got yellow card for contesting referee’s earlier decision. Technical assistant informed referee about the conversion with our couch which followed red card for Legia coach.

In post match comments our coach said that he was very upset and probably said few words too many to the technical assistant. Two games ban is obvious for him.

The referee is under huge critique for disturbing the game, stopping it after tackles, hard challenges and for giving too many cards. Media suggest he will have one game break after that game.

I’ve never taken to this guy, the funny man of football, the joker, a true gent?

The way i see it is the man in question is a vindictive, aggressive, unscrupulous individual

Last weeks( hopefully last ever old firm game) proved how this moron operates

Neil Lennon is sent to bin room to manage his team and the big T.V cameras are rolling so MR SHAKEHAND MAN stood at the mouth of the tunnel to soak up the glory, his team won( his face when the 3rd went in said enough)

No way did he sportingly shake hands with our bhoys, user!

He tried to use this to to gain moral high ground , not for his club but to recoup his lost browny points after the spat with Lenny( the one were he had a movement!)

This guy has publicly backed every knight in and every knight out aswell as every Knight mibees in mibees out, he is a creep , has no intergrity and is only interested in self preservation, hopefully he gets what he is due!

I guess you noticed Bryce Curdy’s post the other night.

He’s in a position to say what he did. Coincidentally he and I met at a CQN “do” laid on by another veteran CQNer, fond of the oval shaped ball but mustn’t hold that against him:o)

Anyways my daughter was in 1st year at Uni then and I mentioned that to him but now works, in a junior position in the same hospital as BC.

  20. Some debate on here about the timing of their liquidation stealing our thunder.Eh!

This will be the biggest thing ever to happen to football in Scotland, and for us surely the biggest win-win ever.

We win the title, they go bust. They go bust, we win the title.

    There, which sounds better?

    We’ll have plenty more titles.

Rangers will only go bust once.

  21. mic1888 says no to newco no to o*d f***m on

Went into car wash today bought a paper for first time in years…. Read column in Daily Mail by Brian Scott…He says Lenny should apologise for his swipe at his adopted country (re his comments regarding his safety) Scott reckons he had nothing to worry about …would have been perfectly safe. Promptly chucked the paper in the bin without reading any further, remembering why I stopped buying papers.

  22. mic 1888- to be fair to Brian Scott, he booted Laugh-at-me’s comments into touch, and from what I’ve seen, the Daily Mail has been the most honest about the Hun’s demise.
