Fog of stress begins to lift from Lennon

980

A line has hopefully been drawn under the stress Neil Lennon has lived under during the last two years with the conviction of two men found guilty of sending bombs in the post.  In a statement, Neil said: This has been a very stressful and difficult time for myself and my family and clearly I am glad that it is over”, before adding, “I will forever be thankful to the Police for the way in which they have handled this matter.”

Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawwell, added: “No one could imagine the pressure [Neil Lennon] has been under during the past two years.  He has coped with this particular episode, last year’s assault and the, at times, seemingly unrelenting attacks from many quarters.

“In my opinion, no-one in Scottish footballing history has had to contend with this level of pressure whilst trying to do their job.  Neil Lennon is someone who has shown tremendous character and resilience, and we will continue to support Neil in any way we can.”

This month has been made all the more difficult for Neil Lennon by the sudden death of Paul McBride, also a target of the bombing campaign.  Neil Lennon said, “Finally, I would like to mention my good friend Paul McBride.   His sad passing remains very raw to those close to him, we continue to miss him dearly and my thoughts remain very much with Paul’s family.”

The SFA have written to Neil Lennon three times since the start of the trial earlier this month to capitalise on perceived transgressions by the Celtic manager while yesterday a former referee used his newspaper column to undermine Neil’s position at Celtic.

These people really do need to get a grip.

Within minutes of the verdict being announced yesterday news of Stilian Petrov’s serious illness was made public.  Stilian will received the very best medical attention and all our prayers.

It would be good, with the same message, but a wee tweak here and there so the messages look individual.

Anyway “tell all the huns you know”

Any huns in my phone book will awake tomorrow with the good news that I am gutted because rangers have ‘won’ their tax case, and been given substancial damages.

It wont last long, only until they check the info online, however, for a few minutes at least, I will have provided them with the most uplifting of news.

And when they realise that what I’ve said is mince, then, then, THEN they will get annoyed, and then pissed off, and then simmer for the rest of the week.

    Job complete.

And it’s allowed, because it’s April fools day.

  2. Tri coloure ribbon,

From your previous posts, I believe you work in Paisley.

Surely, you must have some “St. Mirren” supporters for whom this would work just as well.

  4. jude2005, my dad has been saying to me for ages that big Jon Daly would be a sensation for Celtic, someone we need, who would actually attack the ball in the box & score a barrowload for us.

He can also be used as an emergency centre half, ala Chris Sutton. I’m not for a minute trying to say he’s anywhere near as good as big Chris was but i agree that he would be a really good signing for us.

Also the whole house of cards was funded with other people’s money – directly with the ENIC mugs or indirectly through the cosy relationships with banks that never will call in your debt … unless of course they collapse in an economic crisis and their parent bank starts to go looking for its money back.

This is also one of the strengths of the story for those south of the border familiar with the excesses of Fred Goodwin and all he stood for.

McCann and Quinn new their business all right.

    Thanks.

That wee history lesson into the roots of blatant hunnism ( See Brines a few hours back ) is a reminder of just how little Scotland will be losing with the demise of the hun.

Sadly,i don`t think Scotland sees it that way, however.

    All bang on as usual.

Incidentally don’t know if you saw my earlier post about RFC and their accounts particularly basis the valuation of Ibrox.

If theres a theme to c4’s current pieces it’s a failure on the part of those outwith RFC to discharge their natural obligations to queston and challenge ie the press , the SFA and the SPL.

It seems natural , then , and given your grasp of the financial self delusion to question those that ought to have challenged in those areas , ie the auditors and what they signed off on.

Any plans to probe there? I reckon that’s a motherlode.
