Have yourself a troubled night in Glasgow

1188

With Lionel Messi and Barcelona focussed on winning their final group game against Benfica tomorrow night Celtic must achieve a better result against Spartak Moscow than Benfica manage at the Camp Nou to progress to the latter stages of the Champions League.

Aiden McGeady has suffered a recurrence of a pennate muscle tendon injury and is doubtful.  Georgian creative midfielder, Jano Ananidze, is also out injured, while coach Valery Karpin is under pressure to axe Argentine defenders Juan Insaurralde and Nicolas Pareja after both picked up red cards on Friday night against Zenit.  The Russian media have also turned on Dutch midfielder Demy De Zeeuw, who was at least partially culpable for the Zenit defeat.  Celtic could face a more cohesive Russian team tomorrow, although perhaps without some of their more talented players. Who this troubles most remains to be seen.

Reading (and writing) Celtic Quick News you learn of the thousands of actions Celtic fans take in order to assist others or alleviate pain and distress.  In aggregate these actions can and do move mountains.

Yesterday it was announced that one of our family, Rod Stewart, is donating proceeds of his new single, Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas, to the Celtic Charity Fund and Teenage Cancer Trust to fight this horrible disease and assist those afflicted by it.

The single will be available for download from this Sunday, 9 December.  It offers you and me the opportunity to raise awareness – and funds – on a level we would otherwise never be able to achieve.  Charity is part of your job as a Celtic fan.  On this occasion, on aggregate, we can have an enormous impact.

Still looking for tickets for tomorrow night?

You can email an auction bid for two Wee Oscar Write Bands, each comes with a free ticket to Celtic v Spartak Moscow.  Send an email with your bid to weeoscar4life@gmail.com.  Competition closes at 20:00 GMT tonight.

You can buy the CQN Annual at the Cathedral House Hotel before the game tomorrow night. The Hotel are organising a lift to the game too!

We’ll pick up on the SFA president once the more important matters are out of the way.

TET, the last emai I got was an invitation to dine with you on curried rat……hmmmm

I’ll stick to paella, I prefer my rat in a Bourguignon style, it softens the bones and make the contents of their little pancreas’s burst with flavour (an old recipe from Dumfries, the hometown of mrs acgr, honest………………..she makes me eat her cookin).

These savages from the southwest have an excuse, what excuse do yorkshiremen have:-)

  2. shimmies,

re Wrexham pubs..the Commercial is the one pub in Wrexham i know of regarded as an “irish” pub. and shows live footy. might be worth a look.

Ironworks, as lennybhoy mentioned, as far as i know, is a heavy rock pub, if thats his thing brilliant..he can check it out. lennybhoy gave contact details, so good idea to call first.

If hes got the cash for taxi’s etc, celtics firsts offer of a night in Chester is an option.

Never been to St Werburghs, but Chester is a fantastic night out.

Wrexham is full of Man U fans, but given they’ve won their group, they might have more interest in the ‘tic on telly

I saw a few post on here earlier in the week regarding Aiden McGeady and posters hoping he doesnt play tomorrow. I hope he’s fit, I hope he plays, I hope he gets a right good reception at parkhead and I hope his team get humped rotten.

Wee Aiden deserves a send off……………………….dot com

  4. Time for the sleep thing, last one before we make the last 16.

Oh happy days, even if we don’t make it, am happy we have euro footy next year, in all honesty, I thought it was a hard task when the draw was made, always hoped we could make third place, but to qualify in second was way way beyond my wildest dreams.

Thank you Celtic, thank you Lenny, aye ok, thank you PL, jeezo, that was hard :>)

Take care and god bless Timland

    jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/

I promised my daughter a pony too. She still casts it up to me every Christmas and birthday time and she’s 41 now. “She wants a feckin pony” made me laff!!

    …………………………

Now would be a good time to make up with that girl for neglecting her in her formative years. At 41 she’s about the right age to want a cracking little cruiser / speedboat to impress her freinds, family and father.

You’ve come to the right place.

Only 19 shopping days left till christmas too. Now’s the time to show her you love her. Say it with a speedboat:-)

  8. Massive night for the Club and all of us this evening – a major opportunity to put ourselves back on the European map.

Thermal gear laid-out – safe journey to all those travelling – enjoy the night whether; you’re there – watching TV or on the blog updates.

Big night for me – 50th anniversary of my first European game v Valencia!

Would take the 2-2 result – provided Barca win!

    Off to bed – KTF!

  9. First time I’ve posted in a long long time here’s to mid-week drinking and losing the voice tonight! hail hail, can’t wait till to tonight!

  10. got the cqn annual couple of days ago, its so good i’m giving it as a christmas present.

can i still buy it in the new year for myself?

  11. This is a great site but the long running personal vendettas are so tedious, I thought people were supposed to mellow in their later years? Sheesh!

    Anyway……

c’mon the hoops later today. Do the business in style.

  12. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Jude 2005, I’ll take that like I take “the cheque is in the post or the I promise I wont………”

Ach well, if you dont aske you dont get.

Celtic to the core discount is accepted, and I’ll do a long term rental. Now, were you ever offered a long term rental on a bloody dobbin? Plus, ye canny go to Norway oan a dobbin.

I’m giving serious consideration to wearing mrs ACGR’s extra thick 80% cotton / 20% other fibre under garment leg attire (aye ok, I mean tights) to the game tomorrow.

Now, I know this is a bit out there but my query is more around, should I disfigure them in case I need a quick half time pish???

That wee fella on reporting scotland is telling me it’s gonnay be bloody freezing in fun city tomorrow night. What a dilema…………………………………….;-/

  14. winning captains,

    thats funnier than you think.

my old Ma, got internet last year, and the reason she got it was cqn.

i would phone her and tell her the real things going on in scottish football.

she couldnt believe what i was saying.

my dad walks down the shop every day for the Record. that was their daily diet of football news.

now she takes all her stuff from here, thats why i know she will love the annual, but, cause i’ve had to point her in the direction of the computer, online purchases are a no no.

she does go the barras now and again, though, in the run up to christmas its like a spiritual home to her.

any chance of having a stall at the barras?

2 annuals for a score, till the fuzz turn up and you scatter

  15. Neilcanamalar, only skipped through D U trust statement,

what pathetic points do you refer to?

  16. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

    Specialbrew,

The whole tone of it, please don’t boycott, bloody pathetic.

  17. should clarify my post re the barras, not suggesting selling cqn annual is illegal.

just a funny sight i seen on my last couple of visits..

  18. Neil c,

is there anything in the rules to deal with it?

    should D U share gate?

have sevco brought game into disrepute…therefore expulsion from scottish cup?

  19. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

    Specialbrew,

Someone posted a list of rules that can be applied earlier, which could have them expelled from the competition, only problem is its the sfa who would need to apply them and we’ve already seen the resolve of that lot, so expect nothing.

  20. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

specialbrew, what are the DU trust saying about the hun stupidity?

I posted earlier I’ll buy into their game as long as I know the deid heids get nothing of my cash.

    Whats the scoop?

    Mon the hoop…..:)))

  21. yea, rules and sfa dont go.

the sfa have to do something. if sevco manage to beat D U ,and Celtic draw sevco in a later round, what would happen if Celtic dont allocate tickets to away fans if game is at parkhead. would celtic be in trouble for being the home club?

  22. Special brew

We are delivering a big supply of CQN Annuals to Timland at Gallowgate – tomorrow morning. So you can tell your mum where to go. Straight across the road from Barrowlands.
