With Lionel Messi and Barcelona focussed on winning their final group game against Benfica tomorrow night Celtic must achieve a better result against Spartak Moscow than Benfica manage at the Camp Nou to progress to the latter stages of the Champions League.
Aiden McGeady has suffered a recurrence of a pennate muscle tendon injury and is doubtful. Georgian creative midfielder, Jano Ananidze, is also out injured, while coach Valery Karpin is under pressure to axe Argentine defenders Juan Insaurralde and Nicolas Pareja after both picked up red cards on Friday night against Zenit. The Russian media have also turned on Dutch midfielder Demy De Zeeuw, who was at least partially culpable for the Zenit defeat. Celtic could face a more cohesive Russian team tomorrow, although perhaps without some of their more talented players. Who this troubles most remains to be seen.
Reading (and writing) Celtic Quick News you learn of the thousands of actions Celtic fans take in order to assist others or alleviate pain and distress. In aggregate these actions can and do move mountains.
Yesterday it was announced that one of our family, Rod Stewart, is donating proceeds of his new single, Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas, to the Celtic Charity Fund and Teenage Cancer Trust to fight this horrible disease and assist those afflicted by it.
The single will be available for download from this Sunday, 9 December. It offers you and me the opportunity to raise awareness – and funds – on a level we would otherwise never be able to achieve. Charity is part of your job as a Celtic fan. On this occasion, on aggregate, we can have an enormous impact.
Still looking for tickets for tomorrow night?
You can email an auction bid for two Wee Oscar Write Bands, each comes with a free ticket to Celtic v Spartak Moscow. Send an email with your bid to weeoscar4life@gmail.com. Competition closes at 20:00 GMT tonight.
You can buy the CQN Annual at the Cathedral House Hotel before the game tomorrow night. The Hotel are organising a lift to the game too!
We’ll pick up on the SFA president once the more important matters are out of the way.

Forgot to say. BBC News was “wondering” what kind of reception Aiden would get. I am certain that, as Broonie said, he will get a good/great reception before the game but will be treated the same as any opposing players once the whistle has gone. Definitely off now!

Could it be possible that your mellowing as you get older,I know I’ve mellowed a bit lately.
If Aiden plays ,i’m sure he will get a great reception and rightly so IMO.The stick that bhoy took for wearing our jersey, was always ignored by the MSM.
Craiginho. Very funny and very true. Am going to wind up all the sevconians I know with this.
Just dropped in to ask….
Is the Killie game on Sat to be bhoycotted ?
Oh, before I forget….well done to auld Hugh Keevins
for pulling the rug from BFDJ the other night there.
BFDJ – “The fans are right to boycott the Dundee Utd game because – they helped put Rankers out of the top league!”
Auld Keevins – “So, what if they draw Celtic ?”
BFDJ – “Oh, that would be different!”
Auld Keevins – “Why ?”…..”They(Celtic) along with all the rest of the teams, apart from Killie…put them out the league ?”…..”So, why would THAT, be different ?”
BFDJ – “Och, ye know that widny happen etc….cough….splutter….feathers everywhere….”
Not intending to put a negative slant on today but, if, as has been suggested..the huns will be liquidated…don’t party too much as….our leaders will merely…sell-off anyone that they can in January and, park the ghoodship Celtic FC in the nearest layby until there are signs that…some form of new huns are on the horizon. imo
No matter WHO has been in charge of ‘OUR’ club whenever the iron is hot…..they always seem to find that a – power-cut is just around the corner !
All on ‘OUR’ behalf of course.
Barca 1-1 Benfica
Celtic 1-0 Spartak
Hail Hail
God Bless
Oldtim,
Easy on the drink you, it’s early :oD))))
Fat Sally Le Coist has already identified future signing targets.

Barcelona are the world’s best team (possibly) Milan were once the world’s best team (arguably?).
Real Madrid were once the world’s best team; but I’ve yet to see a football teams Supporters revel in the Joie de vivre like Celtic Supporters do… come whatever may.

St Stivs posted at about 11:23 last night.
The huns never cease to sicken, just caught up with their dignified decision re the cup game, for a start, how can the media now tell us the spl needs their hordes?
That club and its fans are just pathetic, what do they expect other clubs to do when they lorded it over everybody else running themselves into the ground spending money they didn’t have?
The sheer childish petulance is shaming our game and country,I have no qualms about admitting that I absolutely hate them, they are sick animals with this mortifying sense of superiority and victimhood that only huns can revel in given the opposed nature of the two states whilst feeling justified in doing so.
When I read about each new decision and state address coming from them I get a mental picture of Mark Renton climbing out the toilet in Trainspotting with the dry boak.
The SFA must hammer them not only for the decision but the reasons behind it,they are still making a mockery of the game and its beyond a joke now.

Well remembered. :)
Enjoy the game sir. HH
Wonder the GB have up their sleeves for tonight?
Morning all from a more or less Hun Free Tipperary. Mind you I do know one but in fairness he is OK. Even brings his grandkids to Mass. Love Phil McGiolla talking about the removal of The Butchers Apron from Belfast City Hall. “Take it down from the Mast” classic. Great day to be a Tim, can’t wait .

………
To myself there are two very import phrases in that
“up to 27 million pounds” – meaning a helluva lot less probably
and
“it will seek listing on London’s junior AIM market” – meaning they haven’t been granted it yet
CELTIC, go to it and grab some history making headlines. You can do it, just do it.
Forget about what happened yesterday, stay in the present and focus and do the job.
Hail Hail in great expectation
