With Lionel Messi and Barcelona focussed on winning their final group game against Benfica tomorrow night Celtic must achieve a better result against Spartak Moscow than Benfica manage at the Camp Nou to progress to the latter stages of the Champions League.
Aiden McGeady has suffered a recurrence of a pennate muscle tendon injury and is doubtful. Georgian creative midfielder, Jano Ananidze, is also out injured, while coach Valery Karpin is under pressure to axe Argentine defenders Juan Insaurralde and Nicolas Pareja after both picked up red cards on Friday night against Zenit. The Russian media have also turned on Dutch midfielder Demy De Zeeuw, who was at least partially culpable for the Zenit defeat. Celtic could face a more cohesive Russian team tomorrow, although perhaps without some of their more talented players. Who this troubles most remains to be seen.
Reading (and writing) Celtic Quick News you learn of the thousands of actions Celtic fans take in order to assist others or alleviate pain and distress. In aggregate these actions can and do move mountains.
Yesterday it was announced that one of our family, Rod Stewart, is donating proceeds of his new single, Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas, to the Celtic Charity Fund and Teenage Cancer Trust to fight this horrible disease and assist those afflicted by it.
The single will be available for download from this Sunday, 9 December. It offers you and me the opportunity to raise awareness – and funds – on a level we would otherwise never be able to achieve. Charity is part of your job as a Celtic fan. On this occasion, on aggregate, we can have an enormous impact.
Still looking for tickets for tomorrow night?
You can email an auction bid for two Wee Oscar Write Bands, each comes with a free ticket to Celtic v Spartak Moscow. Send an email with your bid to weeoscar4life@gmail.com. Competition closes at 20:00 GMT tonight.
You can buy the CQN Annual at the Cathedral House Hotel before the game tomorrow night. The Hotel are organising a lift to the game too!
We’ll pick up on the SFA president once the more important matters are out of the way.

Good morning CQNers from a snowy MK.
Butterflies aplenty this morning but I’m sure of one thing, the Celts (that team and supporters) will put on a show tonight.
C’mon the Bhoys.
Before I go I’d just like to draw attention to an unfortunate post last night that has tainted the blog…..
The Singing Detective Demands The Resignation Of Campbell Ogilvie @ 20.54
You state “According To The Buitenboys Chairman..Marcel East…

The following link would call your racist tinged post into question.

Not too bad a team.
Marca view of how they will play it.
‘Tito gives the Barça kids a run out
Sergi Font. Barcelona 12/05/2012
Tito Vilanova will make good use of the game against Benfica, a formality in as much as the result goes but important because of the million Euros up for grabs for the win.
The Barça coach will take advantage of the game to give some of the less regular players some minutes and in turn rest those whose feet have seen a lot of action. Above all, however, it will serve Vilanova well to assess the young up-and-coming talent from the ‘Azulgrana’ academy who are looking to carve out a place for themselves in the first team.
Camp Nou and a Benfica that needs to win to go through to the final sixteen is the ideal opportunity to see the progress being made by the young home-grown players who have a wealth of talent but do not often get chances like this.
The Benfica clash is very similar to that which Barça played in 2011 against BATE Borisov. At that time, with the team already through, they played Pinto and a number of academy players.
Sergi Gómez, Deulofeu, Sergi Roberto, Planas, Rafinha and Tello may get their opportunity. It looks certain that Messi will play but Valdés is not such a sure thing.
Besides that, it will be another chance for Thiago Alcántara and David Villa to continue working on getting back up to top form after their respective injuries.’

Kit ,be green ,turn off that 30 watt bulb.
Thanks in advance HH
Last night 4 home wins, 3 draws and only Zenit won away from home in the 8 CL ties.
Let’s hope we manage one of tonight’s wins and Benfica cannot emulate Zenit.
It is a strange feeling going into a CL tie expecting to win
Morning all
I’m nervous.
CU on Twitter saying that The Wall may be a doubt for tonight.
Getting more nervous by the minute.
Should we no be getting an announcement fron the liquidators today, was there no a creditors meeting yesterday :oD
Too manic to get nervous sleep deprivation is better than drugs :oD))))
Morning all. Thanks to all those of you who took the trouble to answer my question last night. I’ll act upon the advice.
Here’s to our qualifying tonight.
Pantaloon..,
Hopefully it’s mind games, oh please let it be mind games
Don’t really know why I’m nervous. At worst, we’re in the EL. So we’re doing better than Man City. For example.
VP/Canamalar:
Solar power… my freekin lights are on all night.
canamalar
I hope so. I really do hope so…

A wee bit of pedantry here. Canamalar was correct to call them Rangers as it was Rangers who died. From that moment on, anyone using that name, for the new team in Div 3 ,is wrong.
JJ
Kit,
Is that no lunar power
CU now saying that The Wall is fit and will play!
Phew!
Forgot to say Good Morning. Top o` the page to you all!
My forecast: Draw at Celtic Park and a Barca victory at the Nou Camp (or Camp Nou?
JJ).
JJ,
I was gonnae say, operative word was”did”
But in far too good a mood to get bogged down :o)
Guten Morgen.
Celtic will win, without a shadow of a doubt.
It’s other game concerning the debt-mongers that has me worried.
I just don’t trust them.
Hopefully i am mistaken.
Pantaloon..,
Do us a favour, ignore CU for the rest of the day :o)
16 roads….,
Only one game matters, don’t get distracted, que Serra Serra

The important point is I have logged your “fun in funeral” post. I like that.OK off out now for the first of my many rituals before heading for the game at 4pm.
Incidentally, I had to miss the ICT , Kilmarnock and Arbroath games . My rituals are necessary. Cheerio for now.
JJ
How many Sevco fans does it take to change a lightbulb?
Answer: 10; 1 to change it and 9 to insist it is still the same lightbulb.
Wee bit of Champions League morning humour to ease the butterflies. Ticket in wallet, change of clothes in bag under my desk, Celtic CD in the car. Bring it on!
MON THE HOOPS!!

I’m not as nervous as usual …….. Not after yesterday’s revelations…….too busy smiling
