Have yourself a troubled night in Glasgow

1188

With Lionel Messi and Barcelona focussed on winning their final group game against Benfica tomorrow night Celtic must achieve a better result against Spartak Moscow than Benfica manage at the Camp Nou to progress to the latter stages of the Champions League.

Aiden McGeady has suffered a recurrence of a pennate muscle tendon injury and is doubtful.  Georgian creative midfielder, Jano Ananidze, is also out injured, while coach Valery Karpin is under pressure to axe Argentine defenders Juan Insaurralde and Nicolas Pareja after both picked up red cards on Friday night against Zenit.  The Russian media have also turned on Dutch midfielder Demy De Zeeuw, who was at least partially culpable for the Zenit defeat.  Celtic could face a more cohesive Russian team tomorrow, although perhaps without some of their more talented players. Who this troubles most remains to be seen.

Reading (and writing) Celtic Quick News you learn of the thousands of actions Celtic fans take in order to assist others or alleviate pain and distress.  In aggregate these actions can and do move mountains.

Yesterday it was announced that one of our family, Rod Stewart, is donating proceeds of his new single, Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas, to the Celtic Charity Fund and Teenage Cancer Trust to fight this horrible disease and assist those afflicted by it.

The single will be available for download from this Sunday, 9 December.  It offers you and me the opportunity to raise awareness – and funds – on a level we would otherwise never be able to achieve.  Charity is part of your job as a Celtic fan.  On this occasion, on aggregate, we can have an enormous impact.

Still looking for tickets for tomorrow night?

You can email an auction bid for two Wee Oscar Write Bands, each comes with a free ticket to Celtic v Spartak Moscow.  Send an email with your bid to weeoscar4life@gmail.com.  Competition closes at 20:00 GMT tonight.

We’ll pick up on the SFA president once the more important matters are out of the way.

    We beat CSKA

Only one result works for Benfica

    We draw with CSKA

Benfica have two results that work for them

We need the winning margin established ASAP Forcing Benfica out looking for the win

    Barca then pick them off

Goalless in both games with 20 to go and I’ll need more meds.

Early goal please Celts but don’t go chasing it !

If Dundee United fans set up an online “bucket”, I would contribute. Then charge the nominal whatever adult / child fee for the tickets to fill the ground with tangerine.

  3. Spoke to some sevco acquaintances today about this boycotting farce and only mentioned that I thought it was a shame that they were boycotting the biggest game in their history. All I got back was “we arra peepul” …..stupid stupid Huns

  4. Can I Have Raspberry-Cheers mate, was about to post the same,if Green says hee haw ,the idiots can still boycott ,they will still get 50% gate money.I hope DU charge minimum possible and fill the place and give them a royal pumping………..well it’s topical.HH.Saying that,Green knows the SFA/SPL etc are cowards so he knows there will be no punishment.

  5. So is Charlie claiming the new club are the old club again?

The new club could never be admitted to the SPL, the rules wouldn’t allow a club without a SFA license to join the SPL.

At the same time the old club couldn’t give up the available license as then the history would be broken.

The web just keeps unravelling for The Rangers, even they no longer know who they are!!

  6. It would appear that the vitriol of Jabba was timed to perfection – he had his rant and only 24 hours pass and he has no way for fans to directly call him on his garbage.

Is he staying with the beeb?

How can he and how could the BBC retain an ounce of credibility.

  7. Lets forget Charlie, the Scottish Cup, the FTT appeal and anything else which is not Celtic for a couple of days.

There are plenty other websites to discuss, pish.

Lets concentrate on the big cup, the one that Man City with all their millions could not qualify for, the cup where Real Madrid can only finish second in the group.

Lets hear the thunder tommorrow night.

How far will rocket-man Green be allowed to go before the autorities (inc police) realise his total irresponsibility could have serious repercussions. We know all too well that the hun hordes need little encouragement to turn violent. Yet this idiot is being given a free ride, and is even praised by the likes of Goram, Hateley and Johnstone, as he stokes up more hatred every time he opens his gub.

Green is creating a tinderbox situation which will easily ignite if Oldco are stripped of leagues and/or found guilty at the appeal. The probable shares flotation flop will give us an idea of the hun state of mind. As they move from shame to disgrace to red-faced embarrassment, their brains must be addled with the whole thing. I hear them in work and the odd time on snyde and its like they’re punch drunk. They make no sense and offer nothing of substance, believing only what they read in the gospel according to Jabba.

Very soon the huns will realise that Green is no improvement on Whyte and he’ll get chased back down south, but if someone doesnt rein him in soon he’ll leave more than a new club in ruins.

Talking about the BBC being pants, I just watched STV report on HMRC’s intent to appeal the FTT verdict with the reporter bigging up their 140 year celebration this weekend and then the very next news piece about Newco’s refusal to take tickets.

Another world record – NEWCO with the longest history.

We had just moved house and when I drove in I saw a car pulling in behind me . 2 women got out and said Are you Mr….. – yes do you live here- yes- do you have a TV- yes -well you dont have a license and I am charging you etc etc with license evasion and she started reading me my rights this is before I even got in the door. My wife came out at this point and the other one pipes up we have just charged your husband with license evasion you know he doesnt have a license. You may jest, however when I misplaced my wife, the Celtic ticket office did actually organise a replacement for me.

It was Hellen Keller, as by the time I contacted them, all they had left were ones with restricted views.

so I havnt posted since saturday , just before kick off, in what has become my normal match day , i aint there , i want to be there, cant believe the 1,000 games in scotland guy isnt there, but thats the way it is, so,

so tonight my wife told me to go and do your CQN thing, go on, its ok.

my daughter was involved in an accident just after 3 on saturday,at home.

bad enough, traumatic enough, not life threatening, but horrible ,

RAH Paisley on Saturday, Yorkhill all day sunday. got out on monday night.

weans , kids, resiliant and brave doesnt cover enough enough of it, my wean, and scottish weans, ans immigrant weans.

all weans. beautiful weans, with scared, dazed parents.

    my daughter will live.

she will go on and be who she wants to be.

there were a few weans there that really made me feel humbled.

We spent 36 hours in that system, we met families there for their own eternity ,

    their time with their child.

god bless the nursing and medical staff at RAH and YORKHILL.

compassion doesnt even start on what they do.
