I would give Matt O’Riley and/or Liam Scales a wee shot at taking Penalties.
Ive got a feeling that LIAM SCALES would hit a Penalty…..Like TOMMY GEMMELL used to hit them.

Very good from the manager and the players.
We’ve made the transition from Ange to Brendan, our last 5 games have been as good a run as I can remember. We’ve been to Ibrox, Livi, Aberdeen and Hearts and won them all.
The only concern is how poorly these games prepare us for Europe. The jump from playing at ibrox and tannadice to playing atlético is getting bigger in both directions
Big Jimmy, You may well be right about Liam Scales taking the penalties.
Thank you, Celtic. Another important away win. That is some computer who arranged the season’s fixtures. We seem to have hardly played a home game on a Saturday so far this season. (Mind you, I couldn’t get to the last one because of the weather.)

Oh me of little faith !
Why was I worried about this game?
celtic40me on
It would be hypocritical to criticize the reaction to the transfer window as being hysterical and knee jerk and then talk so early in the season about this team but I don’t see us being any worse than last. Proof of the pudding will be at the end of the season of course, although we will probably have a couple more signing from January settled in by then
Palma might not be as good as Jota but he’s certainly contributing and he looks a match winner. The unfavorable comparison with Haksabanovic looks well wide if the mark. We have an expensive (for us) first choice center back coming back to fitness.
It’s looking good
connaire12 on
Naismith did not get the turn out he said he would get and therefore could not allow more Celtic supporters into the ground. We knew what he was at all along. He would be better using his time to train his team.
Agree Walsh was better than I have come to expect from him. However the two Hearts players that constantly fouled our players should have been booked. On of them was in fact booked. But over all he was better than I expected.
Have watched a lot of referees in European games recently. I am more than ever convinced that what I see as a foul is constantly being passed over by many of the men/women in the middle. What do others think? I just do not know what is or is not a foul anymore.

I think Scales has turned out to be a better option than Carl Starfelt. He gives a better balance to the back 4, his first touch is more assured which makes playing out from the back safer and his passing is very useful. He’s not struggling with physical center forwards like we thought he might, I like the look of the partnership with CCV
Carl hasn’t exactly set the Heather alight in Spain. It’s difficult to say without watching how much is down to him but Celta Vigo are in the relegation places after todays game.

Good judges reckon that was Brendan’s best domestic team performance since the return.
Wouldn’t argue with that, or the Matt finish on four minutes in a game where Hearts never got near enough Celtic, to attempt a laid glove. Silky football left SKY stunned, after the early opener even the predictable Gorgi blood n’ snotters, failed to trap.
Maladministration causes empty seats and you’d think Hearts would know better, (perhaps they do ) than selling tickets to supporters that don’t exist, unless they are in green and white. Dwindling numbers on the M8, don’t care and Brendan’s charges, ran a poor Hearts side off their immaculate surface.
Disappeared faster than Burke and Hare did the home support, as Daizen Maeda covered blades of green grass for fun appearing left, right and centre he effectively sealed the points, with SKY waiting in vain for a VAR intervention, any intervention from Andrew or his new blue pen.
Getting penalties when you don’t need them, must be a Celtic thing, somebody will step up for the next one after Reo’s miss. Another superb slice through, and Celtic were in again as Reo made amends with a sublime flick starting the Kyogo goal. If you need critique thought Daizen was well slack with his pass but Joe Hart could have thrown his bunnet ( if he had one ) on Shankland’ s shank?
Brendan knows best with subs, all of whom especially the excellent James Forrest could have been on earlier with Athleti in mind.
