I said earlier, let this game go, as it was more important that we had fit players for the Cup Final. But I wasn’t thinking about the effect on the rest of the SPFHell teams if Hertz had won today, it would have been open season on fouling next season. Praise to Brendan, he is the master… he sees a bigger picture than me (and I think I am good at seeing big pictures) and we are blessed to have him.

Madden you are a disgrace. Zero protection for players. At least two red card for Hearts would have been par. At least you have the common decency to disallow a perfectly good goal which came from a corner you awarded to Hearts when it was blatantly a goal kick.

A good workout for the Cup Final. Motherwell will play similar pre-historic tactics as Hearts did today. Elbows will be in faces, late challenges, particularly on Brown and Tierney, after the ball is played and Madden or Thomson turning a blind eye.

A good shift put in by the players. Hearts knew they would be given latitude by a Hun ref and they took advantage of it.
On the disallowed goal from the linesman view you can clearly see Hearts players back arm all over Bain so call was correct.
Linesman was one who over ruled i think and he had clear view.
If Madden thought he could get away with it goal would have stood.
Why does the SPFL not impose minimum standards on pitches?
Grass was ridiculously long and looked like it had not seen a mower or roller for weeks .
Was good to see Brendan show pragmatism and allow long balls out from back to overcome long grass.

We were very lucky today, not to have any of our players hospitalised that is.
