  2. Thanks lads.

I honestly thought Bloke109 had grabbed it.

I’d just like to thank Paul67 for giving me this platform. :)))

Thanks for posting that – favourited for future reference. I had a distant relative executed in Kilmainham after fighting at the PO. Always wanted to write a book on him, and that’s a cracking resource.

I know exactly what you mean.

Vivid memories of bottles arcing down on we Tims from the hun hordes assembled on the railway bridge MANY years ago.

Talented and imaginative architects know how to incorporate the old with the new.

From what I can see, there`s not many of our landmarks left from the days when the 64 bus travelled from Dumbarton Rd. to London Rd.

    Keep the wee school.

A tangible link to the past and to our forefathers who have passed that way and are no longer with us.

  5. Estadio 1887,

There is something more powerful being 1887 as MWD says.

Both are highly treasured and I am quite delighted to have won one of the most prestigious podiums ever, It was a lottery but I wanted to do it in style so got on the best gear I could and pressed that submit button and left it up to the Lord if he wanted it to be, it was calculated to the best of my ability but go back and look at the time stamps. LOL

  6. The more I read and hear of the entity that calls itself ‘rangers’ and all the people in any way associated with it must be the embodiment of Alesteir Crowley’s mantra, “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.” That is how they behave and are propagating that ethos throughout Scotland. A dark way to lead one’s life. A dark organisation to exemplify that thought. A dark place to be with eventual terrible consequences, because to live like that,in time, engenders a rebound on the senses, damaging to the mind. On a mass scale, you only have to look at Nazi Germany and the end result there.

This may seem far-fetched,but it’s not. Because to act as if you are above the law,to never admit guilt,to treat everyone outside your self-proclaimed magic circle with contempt,is to take yourself down the path to demonstrable insanity.

This is the mindset of ‘the rangers’ and the ‘sevcovians’,apparent in their deeds, actions, and utterances.

A blight on Scotland. A blight anywhere. They need re-education,and to learn how to say ‘sorry’ .

  7. In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from North western University ..

On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air.

The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully.

He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it.

As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife,

after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot.

The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments.

Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled.

Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away.

Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.

Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenage son.

As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and

walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing.

The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down.

The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.

Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant.

Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure.

He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder.

The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs

and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.

    Probably wasn’t the same elephant!!.

    1 Corinthians 13:1-13

    King James Version (KJV)

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

    5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

    6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

    ..

Oranges are green, not orange when grown in a tropical climate!

An orange is not a naturally occurring fruit , but rather a crossbreed of the tangerine and the pomelo, which is a fruit also known as the Chinese grapefruit. The first oranges were created in southeast Asia, where they would have been green, rather than orange.

The reason why oranges are green in a tropical climate is because the weather rarely gets cold. Because of the lack of cool weather, the chlorophyll remains in the skin of the orange, keeping it green. When an orange is exposed to cool weather while still on the branch it turns to orange. And orange that is left on the tree can change between green and orange several times depending on the weather.

This change of colors also means it’s impossible to tell if an orange is ripe. Fortunately for us, you don’t have to pay attention to if an orange is ripe. It remains ripe for a long time, even if left on the branch until the next season. The reason all of our oranges are orange in the store is because oranges are generally grown in subtropical areas, which means that they are exposed to cold weather. Oranges were able to give their name to the color because, most oranges are actually orange and not green.

My amazing Mum and Dad said I had to go to Mass. I kept going for a while then bunked it and kept on bunking it, I’m not proud of that as I would go home and act like I had went to Mass.

I really wish I didn’t deceive my Mum and my Dad but I did. It doesn’t bother me now really as that was way back before I even started checking out Religious stuff. It was just excellent evidence of how weak man is.
