HOOPS DUO BLOW

SCOTT BROWN and Shane Duffy are both OUT of Celtic’s Premiership game against Ross County at Parkhead tomorrow night.

The skipper and the Republic of Ireland central defender both limped out of Sunday’s Scottish Cup Final penalty-kick shoot-out victory over Hearts and have not recovered in time for the visit of the Dingwall side.

Boss Neil Lennon will not take any risks with the duo and, speaking to the Glasgow Times, admitted the injuries were “not long term. They should be okay for Boxing Day.”

All-action Ivorian anchorman Ismaila Soro is likely to take Brown’s place in the middle of the park and there is a chance Hatem Abd Elhamed could line up alongside Christopher Jullien in the central defence. It is likely to be one of the Israeli international’s last outings for the Hoops as he is poised to return to his homeland next month.

French ace Olivier Ntcham will also be pushing for a place after returning to the training pitch.

The History Bhoys, after achieving the phenomenal quadruple treble on Sunday, will be on a revenge mission following their 2-0 Betfred League Cup loss to the Highlanders last month.

Ex-Celt John Hughes will be in charge of the visitors for the first time and Lennon added: “It might be too soon for John to implement his style of play.

“We didn’t create enough chances last time against them, but that’s something we have to address going into tomorrow’s game.”
