Not the day to be picking holes in that squad. Job was done. Players got blooded. When you think who was absent – that was a stunning result in an arena which is home to a team who have massive previous against us, managed by a self-deluded un-shedded fud who lives to play Celtic and try and stuff us, because it’ll keep him sweet with his past paymasters.

Today showed how playing football against a thuggish team like ICT gets you results. So proud of the Hoops…
As for ICT and Collum – it is only luck that none of our players were seriously hurt. Clearly Butcher’s tactic was to go out and hurt as many Celtic players as possible. Instead of succumbing, we played around them and they had no Plan B.
Think back to Victor’s sending off at Ibrox last year… there were at least eight tackles from ICT significantly worse than that, only some of which resulted in a foul being awarded.
The odds really are stacked against us, but as Jock said – you need to be better than the opposition and the ref. Today we were.
As for Sky: their default is typical of the MSM: if Celtic succeed, it must be down to mistakes from the opposition. If the Huns win, it is down to skill. But today was as biased a commentary and analysis you are likely to hear for a long, long time.

Well done Celts, young Tony looks like a proper footballer.
One or two defensive frailties exposed but nothin’ we didn’t kno about.
And an entertainin’ wee cameo from Mo at the end, lookin’ like Andre 3000 in the ole Hey Ya video.
Andy Walker’s commentary style when Celtic are pingin’ in the goals is to sound like a wee boy havin’ to explain to the teacher why he’s shat his pants.

I agree. Wilson and Lustig have the basics and should be persevered with but not as starters.
Bangura appears to be a mistake of monumental proportions (he didn’t help himself with his ridiculous comments about Celtic being a stepping stone to the EPL).

Great result.Three points in the bag and the players brought in did a professional job. I hope we’ll see a lot more of Tony Watt this season and Twardzik is also maturing well.
I think we may struggle to sell Bangurra but a loan deal may offer some sort of solution.
A starting midfield of McCourt, Twardzik, Wanyama and Matthews – at Inverness?
Just goes to show what some of us were saying last week. Doesn’t matter so much about the shape – match the effort and enthusiasm and better players will win games 99% of the time.
Wanyama was a big big part of the win – immense performance from him – my MOTM. See what happens when your central defence gets some protection? Wilson looked a decent player with a midfield ‘enforcer’ in front of him.
Really heartening performance today.
Support were superb – BUT other than to chant or sing about specific events relating to sporting integrity and just laughing at them I don’t think we should be bothering singing about Sevco – particularly not to say we hate them. I don’t know what Sevco are so I can’t possibly have an opinion on them yet!!! We can’t moan about a third division team getting undue coverage and then give them free advertising. Feck ’em!
just watched it again – ole Neil Lennon scored the second goal before Tony Watt
Big G on
Excellant 3 points. We controlled the game from the off. We were clinical when we had the chances. We blooded a couple of youngsters who impressed and who set down a marker to all the other youth players on what is required to break into the 1st team and who will have worried a few regular starters. All in all, a good day at the office for the mighty Tic.

Great performance – apart from maybe the last ten mins.
Tony Watt a star in the making – 4 goals in 5 competitive matches is it?
Filip Twardzik – the next Dave Ki?
No weaknesses.
Collum?! To be expected!
Butcher – as usual sent out his ‘players’ to cause physical injury! Never seemed to play like that against that deid club!
Roll on Wednesday!

Big G,
I doubt Levein will be Scotland manager this time next year. His comments regarding Commons and the selection of Black point to either a very confused – or deeply compromised – individual.
ItaliaBhoy on
Bangura could do with a start. He always comes on as we are winding down.
However, he has that “headless chicken” style we have seen so often before…
He’s not the worst I’ve seen in a Celtic shirt, but it’s difficult to see him forcing his way past Hooper, Watt, Stokes, or Samaras.
Big G – is Robson playing in the USA? I always thought players had given up on their international careers when they went there.
Maybe Levein feels the ability to use more than one foot is surplus to requirements for his football team. Much in the same way as he felt a striker was a luxury he could not afford a few years ago.
Long may he continue to ignore our players and please nobody tell him about Tony Watt. Young guy Little at Sevco – surely in line for a call up. He should bring back Elbows too.
It would be too soon if a Celtic player ever played for Scotland or any international side ever again. It is never to our benefit. Although I will make an exception with Hooper and Forster. If they could get a few games for Engurland it might turn out to be a wee boon for us in two or three years when we have identified and acquired their replacements!!!
I hate writing off Celtic players but I’m afraid I don’t see anything in Bang Bang’s game that will lead to him succeeding at Celtic Park. Too often he doesn’t even do the basics correctly in total contrast to our young striker.
Snake – I called Bangura hopeless earlier which was unfair. We shouldn’t use such terms because the truth is he is way way out of his depth and not look even close to being at SPL standard.
Murphy is not what we require either but he is miles ahead of Bangura.
We need to find a way of getting Bangura out of the club ASAP.

Tony watt is going to be a player for us watched him in the next gen tournament last year and he looked a different class. Especially liked how he asked Hooper why he was not following in when he put a great ball across the 6 yard box.
He was already in Lenny’s plans Celtic turned down a bid to buy him from England a couple of weeks ago.
I like his hunger for goals and he should get plenty of game time this season
Tallybhoy on
Sorry to say it but I think Mo Bangura has been given enough chances to prove what he has to offer – and it is not very much imho.
Best we can hope for is a loan deal somewhere I would imagine.
Tony Watt looks the real deal – been saying it for a while.
Filip Twardzik as well – and there are others waiting for their chance. Neil will almost certainly give them more game time this season.
I have been using Firefox for a few years now, following a recommendation from our dearly missed Pablo. It has overall been very good, never had any real issues with it. I have a Sony Vaio, running Vista.

I’m sure Lenny wears that top as a wind-up. They must absolutely hate it.
Delighted with the result and performance.
Understandable drop in concentration after the 4th goal.
Self preservation wasparamount.
Surprised that Forrest was risked in a game that was won.
Collum is an offence to football and Andy Walker is just an offence.
