I’ve no affection for Real Madrid but was delighted for them, and Carlo Ancelotti in particular, last night. It’s getting to the stage that it’s impossible to figure out who the best team in Europe actually is.
Bayern Munich’s season has been historic. They swept aside German competitors with record-breaking ease on their way to what looked like them becoming the first team to retain Europe’s top crown in its Champions League format. Real were irresistible. Let’s hope for a Madrid final before the Lions in Lisbon next month.
After yesterday’s blog I heard that more journalistic allies from Anderston Quay have flocked to Dave King’s camp, including that Leggat (sp?) guy, who used to entertain many.
I’ve heard more theories as to what the Sevco board and the group trying to run their club into the ground are planning that I care to remember, but when you look at the team King in particular has pulled together, you would be forgiven for concluding there is no masterplan worthy of the name.
We can’t always judge a man by the company he keeps but we can just a strategy by those who fathered it.
Prediction: King will kill Sevco then fall on his arse. Bump.
Here we Go for 10 In a Row!
Applications for the 10th annual CQN charity golf day, which will take place in Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 4th July, will close this Friday, 2nd May.
As ever it will be oversubscribed so if you would like to attend, email BlantyreKev and Taggsy at cqnopen10IAR@gmx.co.uk before Friday. Cost for the full day’s entertainment including golf is £80. There are a very limited number of non-golfer evening places at £45. Further detail will be released nearer the date and when places confirmed.
Over the course of the season I’ve read lots of comment about the values we should aspire to as a club, specifically when it comes to alleviating poverty, both in our own community, and abroad. CQN’ers responded incredibly to our Malawi school kichen(s) appeal, which dwarfed our work at home.
The Charity Foundation are selling badges (£1 each) before the Dundee United game on 11 May to raise funds to feed the poor and hungry in and around Glasgow. I have volunteered as a coordinator on the day and have offered to help recruit around 100 to sell badges before the game.
This will be trophy presentation day – but the trophy isn’t coming out until after the game, so you’ll not miss any of the flesh-on-silver action.
If you are able to get involved in this initiative, which strikes the core of what we think of ourselves as a Movement, email your details to cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .
Thank you.

regarding Hibs
not making excuse for Sun 22nd May 2005 Fir Park
Celtic thought job was done after Sutton scored
my point Hibs didn’t try a leg at Easter Road
for some reason a 0-1 score against Deid Club suited them
for me I hope they drop
hail hail
Tonights one of those games where you can only hope for a riot and a ban without anyone underserving getting hurt.

Settling down to watch Chelsea v Athletico.
Cannae stand Defensinho but do not like Athletico after the kicked us off the pitch in the European Cup Semi Final in 74.
I am sat on the horns of a dilemma.
Not very comfortable.
What is a mhan to do??
The lad is getting fired up. It must be from his paternal side.
37 Herron sees yellow, and from the resultant free-kick Scullion fizzes a shot narrowly wide of the post. Still 1-1 at St Mirren Park.

Celtic storming back
39 Baird enters the book for a lunging tackle on McMullan. Free-kick to the Bhoys 35 yards from goal.
Henderson takes the free-kick and McGowan makes a superb save to tip his curling effort over. Excellent effort.
40 Fridjonsson heads home from Twardzik’s corner but the referee disallows it for a foul by the Icelandic striker.
42 Henderson comes close yet again with a fantastic free-kick, McGowan tipping his curling shot over from 30 yards.

HT ST MIRREN U20s 1-1 CELTIC U20s Fraser’s early opener is cancelled out by Reilly as both sides go in even at the break. (MH)
Dual nationality.
I have dual British-Italian nationality.
British since birth, 1954 (Celtic won the double that year), and Italian since 1986 (the Albert Kidd season).
If Scotland votes for independence will I be able to apply for a Scottish passport, even ‘tho I do not have a vote and have not been a permanent resident since 2006?
Bob Hoskins RIP.
HH!!
Frankmarker,
As the dons were humping hearts, hibs were in a sticky position not to lose anymore goals.
We shoulda had the job done though.
I went for the draw last might and the away team won 4-0.
I think I’ll go for the draw again :)
Come on Athletico.

Clearly they will be added to the pot which is to be divided pro-rata.
If Scottish assets are valued at £1400bn,with Scotland retaining 8.5% or £120bn, that will probably be about right.
If rUK wishes to then sell their remaining assets, that’s their choice.
The fact that they will retain the assets doesn’t mean that they haven’t squared up our share of them.
There are enough reasons for you to think we are hard done by without making them up.

The thought that someone might serve the baldy guy spam and chips on Masterchef might be a better option than Chelsea parking the bus.

That Martinboy will enable Rangers International to transfer both Ibrox and Murray Park from the Rangers Club plc. This will transfer will settle the debt . Goodbye Ibrox goodbye Murray Park. Hello Landfill site , hello ,mmm no idea what Muuray park can be used for!
Actually, given the freedom of the printed times that we live in…
I could’ve used the fourth A word (as ‘GG calls it)

Predictions – I reckon it’s 0-0 but have backed no goalscorer (same odds) at 6/1.
A wee note below from Laura and HCPT Group 77
Good evening CQN’ers!
Just to let you all know that HCPT Group 77 and the rest of our HCPT family are now home after an amazing pilgrimage to Lourdes.
The money you all donated provided these youngsters from all different paths in life careful care, unconditional love and an experience they will remember forever.
CQN’ers, you have all been a positive influence in supporting these children and creating a magical milestone in their lives. Therefore, on behalf of Group 77 and the 9 wonderful children we took to Lourdes this year, I would like to say a massive thank you.
