I’ve no affection for Real Madrid but was delighted for them, and Carlo Ancelotti in particular, last night. It’s getting to the stage that it’s impossible to figure out who the best team in Europe actually is.
Bayern Munich’s season has been historic. They swept aside German competitors with record-breaking ease on their way to what looked like them becoming the first team to retain Europe’s top crown in its Champions League format. Real were irresistible. Let’s hope for a Madrid final before the Lions in Lisbon next month.
After yesterday’s blog I heard that more journalistic allies from Anderston Quay have flocked to Dave King’s camp, including that Leggat (sp?) guy, who used to entertain many.
I’ve heard more theories as to what the Sevco board and the group trying to run their club into the ground are planning that I care to remember, but when you look at the team King in particular has pulled together, you would be forgiven for concluding there is no masterplan worthy of the name.
We can’t always judge a man by the company he keeps but we can just a strategy by those who fathered it.
Prediction: King will kill Sevco then fall on his arse. Bump.
Here we Go for 10 In a Row!
Applications for the 10th annual CQN charity golf day, which will take place in Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 4th July, will close this Friday, 2nd May.
As ever it will be oversubscribed so if you would like to attend, email BlantyreKev and Taggsy at cqnopen10IAR@gmx.co.uk before Friday. Cost for the full day’s entertainment including golf is £80. There are a very limited number of non-golfer evening places at £45. Further detail will be released nearer the date and when places confirmed.
Over the course of the season I’ve read lots of comment about the values we should aspire to as a club, specifically when it comes to alleviating poverty, both in our own community, and abroad. CQN’ers responded incredibly to our Malawi school kichen(s) appeal, which dwarfed our work at home.
The Charity Foundation are selling badges (£1 each) before the Dundee United game on 11 May to raise funds to feed the poor and hungry in and around Glasgow. I have volunteered as a coordinator on the day and have offered to help recruit around 100 to sell badges before the game.
This will be trophy presentation day – but the trophy isn’t coming out until after the game, so you’ll not miss any of the flesh-on-silver action.
If you are able to get involved in this initiative, which strikes the core of what we think of ourselves as a Movement, email your details to cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .
Thank you.

Nice one
Was just about to ask how the big man was playing ?
Has he scored a few for the U20 ?
Chelsea playing like genuine Huns.
Playing for free kicks and the officials acting like their Scottish brethren and giving them everything.
Phyllis
Always wise to do so.
My new phone gave me the option of Philvis as I typed your name!! Hmmmmm.
Thanks leftclicktic
Was out in the pouring rain and driving wind to meet the school bus

Herron can’t control McMullan’s centre, but the hosts fail to clear and Fridjonsson clinically smashes a shot into the top corner.

“A Disgrace of a Programme”
Why the Title above – because they have proven tonight the corrupt nature of Super Scoreboard Loyal and the MSM. In no particular order pick your way through these appalling statements of falsity. I will start with the best.
6:40 Sammy I love you. Another caller challenging the conduct of the Media. What do we get Keevens “Jumping on Rangers grave with undisguised relish”? “Two Years without Rangers etc. etc……..Master of hyperbole Keevens. Celtic supporters all liars again if you disagree with Keevens.
7:30 Caller challenges the panel on the inclusion of false pictures in the press previously called into question by Keevens. Then reads out an apology by the Sun and states Celtic Press Officer will be reviewing the situation. Then the caller calls into question the MSM and Super Scoreboard Loyal. What do we get from Delahunt – “Thank you caller but this is not against us” ffs are you deaf Delahunt.
I could go on tonight about “Super Ally” not knowing about finance but then starts talking in ratios of wages to turnover being the lowest in the “Western World. What utter pash. Ally doesn’t sign players but Dalziel states you have to work within a budget – but Ally doesn’t deal with budgets Dalziel.
Decline of Rangers started with Craig Whyte – not David Murray. Utter “Sh..te Keevens.
I have reported on many Super Scoreboard Loyal programmes over the last year, line by line. But even I am appalled by the total lack of accuracy, objective reporting and bias by this utter sham of a programme.
Final point by a number of callers “Where was the reporting of the wrecking of Celtic Park last night by the 5088s. Keevens was quick to jump in and resurrect “Motherwell and Celtic” and the “Moving of so called Journalists”, but where was this in today’s Media – swept under the carpet.
Remember “Internet Bampots” if you want a “Free Press” you need to fight for it. Well done “Sammy Boy” I’ll always support you. Tonight’s programme is being reported to OFCOM – use your power “Internet

St Mirren keeper playing a blinder :((
Really enjoyed last night’s game and obviously Real well deserved their victory against a quality side. I have not read back but I hope I am not the only one to note the compliment to Neil Francis and his men when they defensively outplayed the mighty Barcelona with a well organised and executed game plan, including superb defensive plan and a wonder goal from young Tony Watt !
Only saying like.
C’mon Atletico, Mourinho may be a brilliant manager but you have the spirit !
Laura and HCPT Group 77:
Well done to you all, a great job you all do. I was taken to Lourdes in 1969 by HCPT having been put forward by then Parish, St. Serf’s.
Keep the Faith!
Hail Hail!
It’s all go from the kids
56 Henderson tees up McManus, who curls a shot over.
57 What a save from McGowan in the St Mirren goal as he gets a hand to Henderson’s clean strike.
58 Fridjonsson so unlucky as his overhead effort hits off the bar, with the hosts scrambling the ball clear.
London Huns score – Torres :-((((

No extra time -which is a blessing
Note to hazard, you’ve left your man

The. Old cut back from the bye line, the most dangerous ball in the game, undoes Chelsea.
