Lose and Aberdeen season is over

593

Aberdeen will already be in town ahead of their game at Firhill tonight. Lose tonight and a season which promised so much as recently as Monday, will effectively be over.

Tomorrow’s game against Inverness will present a robust challenge for Celtic. Inverness are one of four clubs locked within a point of each other, a maximum of three of them will be in the top six after the split. Despite the fact that the Highlanders are competing in the right half of the table, with a Scottish Cup quarter final against Hamilton Accies to look forward to, they are only five points from the play-off spot.

Players will be battling for their livelihoods in every sense of the word.

Well done to Erik Sviatchenko’s old team, Midtjylland, on their Europa League win over Manchester United last night. And to the observer who noted that they have now beaten more top six teams in the England and Wales Premier League than Manchester United or Manchester City.

You wonder what last night’s results will do to the marketability of the Midtjylland players, and whether or not we would have been able to get Sviatchenko in the summer, had he stayed. Big results bring focus and scores of scouts. We nipped in at the right moment with Erik.

Good luck to Thistle tonight.

In mentioning Midtjylland it shows up how a football club should be run.

Whilst I acknowledge that you are rightly praising the club for building from a small base, I am surprised that you view selling their centre back in mid season and before a tie with Manchester United as an example of how a club should be run.

I assume that you would take the same view if it were Celtic?

    Auldheid,

A bit confused here, I thought the review panel were under the instructions of the SPFL and the sFA were the appelate body, that lawyers response has confused me completely when he advises he represents the SFA ?

    Whose inquiery was that ?

  3. No disrespect bourne but I just hate when anyone predicts 4 or 5 goal victories. In the first place I feel it’s disrespectful to the opposition and in the second place it’s almost tempting faith.

It may well be 4 or more but we haven’t won too many by that score, by my memory 3 times this season.

I’ll be happy with any win, hopeful of plenty of goals and a bit of a show but at the end of the day 3 pts on the board will do me.

    Tracked that specific source material.

But as usual….i will need to do somersaults on my database…to root it out….i.e. Free

Reading between the lines of your insight,…if my analysis is right, there is something huge here.

I cant see that anybody has touched upon it in the standard historiography.

    The Game’s Afoot:)

    Cmon the Celts….3-0

    TGM,

Hope it helps you paint a much clearer picture, maybe even open the eyes of a few conformists who tell us everything is different now.

  6. Celtic team to play @ICTFC Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Sviatchenko, Tierney; Brown, Bitton; Mackay-Steven, Johansen, Armstrong; Griffiths (MH)

Celtic will not do anything until the EBT case is over and a final judgement passed, I’m not saying the shouldn’t as the info on the DOS is known to all concerned and they should have went after the SFA on this.

  8. Very busy on the West Dunbartonshire express to Paradise.

Augurs well for a decent crowd today.

    Let the people sing!

Happy to see an unchanged line up.

You can’t beat consistancy of selection.

Chopping and changing unsettles a team’s rhythm, although I’m happy to see four creative players on the bench.

  10. Anticipated line up, very exciting bench. No places for McGreggor, Forrest, Rogic, Efe, Cole or Izzy, Janko & Jozo injured, shows the strength in depth.

  13. BelfastCelt, If you are in Puert Del Carmen your best bet might be either The Brendan Behan or The Blarney Stone. Both pubs are in an old fairly decrepit looking centre in the Old Town not too far from the Biosfera Shopping Centre.

  14. Unchanged team? Celtic were dreadful last week. But everyone keeps their place with 2 wingers on wrong side of the park. Hopeless.

  15. Bitton was rank,, and should be dropped…I like him but he needs a kick up the arse occasionally

  16. Tom Boyd is better than SuperSutton on

Turgid fare today. Only Tierney and Boyata making forwrd passes. And Boyara not always accurate.

Wind is obviously a big factor when ball is in the air. But Craig Gordon. Seriously.

  17. CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on

3 goals 3 points and 3 young guns getting pitch home.. That’ll do !
