If you are a Celtic fan with a persistent need to worry about something, the sight of so many chances being missed in each of the last two weekends will occupy your mind. The game at Pittodrie was indistinguishable from the game at Inverness (our only domestic game which didn’t end in a win), save from the last minute chance which Inverness equalised with and Aberdeen were unable to convert.
We played five games in October, scoring more than once on only two occasions, when we hit two against Motherwell and caught Ross County with a late onslaught. For a squad with the best two strikers in the country this is a conundrum.
Statistical consistency is not to be expected, of course, teams and players will go through barren and plentiful patches, but since we destroyed Kilmarnock last month, Dundee, Motherwell, Newco, Ross County and Aberdeen have all found ways to defend against Celtic for long periods.
Tomorrow night’s Champions League game stands alone, but we might need to change the pattern of play for the visit of Inverness on Saturday.

This is prime material for The Daily Mash. Expect a Mash headline later. Roughly : “Fat Baldy Men Extremely Attractive to Beautiful Models, Say Fat and Balding Scientists”. According to Professor John Smeg, from the Institute For Studies….etc..
We could ask Neganon. He informed us all last night that he was a “Social scientist”.Dont know about him being fat and balding, but boring and pompous might still work.

Ah better no comment, bud…..don’t want to be put on the “clique” list that’s being compiled….!

No, no, no it’s the “List” Clique. Often found on CQN around international breaks and transfer windows.

Cheers for the good wishes guys. Baby steps, literally
For the avoidance of doubt, I am not Brendan Rodgers either. However I would definitely start with Armstrong over Bitton for tonight’s game. Neither is great defensively, but I feel Armstrong just shades it there. Bitton has an alarming tendency to give away free kicks within shooting range of our own goal in big games.
What Armstrong will give us is more forward movement, as on taking control of the ball, his first instinct is to run forward or pass forward. It will be important, when in possession, to try to move forward, giving the defence time to reorganise in readiness of the next “Some German Team” attack.
I would also start with Forrest, rather than Roberts. An away game in Europe, against a good team, who will have more possession than us, is IMO the perfect habitat, to maximise the effectiveness of Forrest, Dembele and Sinclair as a 3. All three have pace, and all 3 can finish. Their pace is largely negated in SPFL games, as there are only 25 metres of pitch ahead of them, and most teams line up 10-0-1 against us.
Tonight is fifferent, we may not have much possession, but we will have space in the forward areas, and these 3 can exploit that. History tells us that tonight’s challenge will probably end in failure, but we will get chances, and if we can take them……?
For those in Germany, stay safe, support the team, make any kids wi’ flares eat them before they can light them.
To the fans. Enjoy the game, make us proud
To Brendan and the team, you know what is needed. You can do it.

Morning Bhoys from a sunny Central Scotland.I am not optomistic about tonights game MG turned us over at Parkhead and on there own midden will expect to do so again.I can see no reason for optimism we have a weakened team and a terrible away record in Europe and I believe Brendan is trying to deflect our expectations by talking about 3 seasons from now Celtic being last 16 contenders. I would love to see the hoops pull of a shock win but that is my heart talking but my head tells me we will lose. H.H.
Good morning CQN
Can anyone confirm or deny that the game will be available to stream online for FREE? I’ve had a look at BT Sport website and the only thing they say is FREE is the highlights.
Thanks in advance.

Well, I’m no too happy with the Clique List, but the List Clique are the ones that really rip my knitting. Them and the Glory Holers….errr…..Glory Hunters….
A 11:55 comment last night:
My total paid media work in 12 years: £45, in 2009. I’ve contributed to several dozen media outlets in many countries (will be speaking to French TV on Saturday). The only one who sent a cheque took me by surprise and didn’t repeat the action.
If this is the stuff of late night conspiracy I suggest it tells more of the character of others than mine, and I can’t help on that front.

Your team looks as likely as any other right now, however, I would play Paddy from the start.
He looks much more direct than JF who, in my opinion has gone off the boil in recent weeks.
Even if he tracks back better than Paddy.
We will need a bit of invention tonight and Paddy provides that.
Says he!

PHILBHOY. I am not a James Forrest fan I believe he is a passenger in most games and im amazed he gets a first team place. However, tonight I would play him in preference to Paddy as Forrest offers us a little more in tracking back and helping us defend Paddy for me really has to work on that area of his game. H.H.

There was a nat poster on here who insisted that the opposition to the legislation was just election time grandstanding and would come to nothing.
I thought it might have been you, not that it matters.
The discussion on the radio was interesting. Particularly the Edinburgh granny who was all in favour of the Act, because she was tired of football fans defecating in the street.
What a country.

Lovely story last night!
The response to your post was great too!
Now………..wouldn’t it be a great idea to have a November Mini Hoot to meet all your old EK pals, and someone could bring Mrs McGinty along too!
We have no game on Saturday the 19th of this month, as playing Killie the day before.
Step for a hint?

I think PHILBHOY wants a wee BV Day on Saturday 19 Nov.
We play Kilmarnock the night before.
I don’t think he’s hinting,really. Subliminal indoctrination,more like.

Well it is my Birthday on the 21st. I may have some bargaining ballast with that.
HUNDERBIRDS ARE GONE
“Step for a hint” is an expression I used in my youth.
It broadly means “hows that for an idea”.
However, as this is CQN I fully expect someone to put me right, if I’m wrong!
Ah but just remembered we are going to Edinburgh to visit Mrs H’s Daughter. Budget only allows for one trip a month.
However, feel free to get stuck in without me.

It was an intereting discussion tho focussed( as did this ham act) on sectarianism in football, without looking at sectarianism in our society at large.it also only hinted at the subjective nature of it (what offends you and I may differ)
Its quite clear the snp wish to divide and rule by seperating Celtic/nooklub fans from the other clubs by intrducing strict liability.this once again omits doing anything at source bout sectarianism whilst piling their incompetence onto football fans.
It is better off the statute books altogether imo but the police like the funding which does not auger well for football fans or freedom of thought in general

I hope you spent it well!
Maybe you should tell everyone on here how many hours you and your assistants put in per day/week to deliver this Blog.
That might shut some of them up.
Oh, and perhaps you need an agent/manager to maximise your income from public appearances.
I know a man by the way……………………….
Good luck and thanks for this great platform!

I won’t make it either, bar a good win at the bookies this week!

I think you should keep pushing that. We only have one weekend match at home till mid-Dec.
Ideal chance for a rare get-the-gither.
