Madden semi-final ref, what were the odds?

What were the odds of Bobby Madden being appointed referee for our Scottish Cup semi-final against Newco?  Fairly short, I would imagine.  All we want from Bobby is a fair crack of the whip.  When a Newco player lunges with both feet off the ground at Patrick Roberts, we don’t expect him to be distracted by checking his watch.  When Leigh Griffiths is taken down, waist high, inside the box, before his opponent can get near the ball, we expect a penalty.

Such expectations were not on the coupon previously but are not too much to ask.

    You are assuming that the primary motive for the attack was to kill Skripal.

     

     

    I don’t think it was.

     

     

    If they had wanted him dead they would probably just have shot him.

     

     

    I suspect the primary motive was to warn other FSB members who might be considering defecting that they could never be safe, wherever they were.

     

     

    Hence the use of a nerve agent. Not quite as explicit and outrageous as polonium, but pretty close.

     

     

    The secondary motive would be to wrong foot the UK Government (bear in mind the mess they made of the Litvinenko murder). That bit hasn’t worked out quite as planned.

     

     

    The third motive would be to stir up Russian nationalism.

     

     

    As I’ve said, alternative explanations strain credulity.

    And why has whoever carried out the attack allowed the victims to survive? (Assuming you accept that there was an attack and that the victims have survived).

    TET In Madrid. Went to Atleti v Sporting last night. Great atmosphere.

     

     

    *watched Real v Juve and Liverpool v City earlier this week. Funny oul tourney as the moneybags QSG, Chelski and City all look like missing out on the Big Ears trophy this year although I widnae count the latter out yet, theirs was a game of 2 halfs and Sane looked out of sorts for them, an early goal next week and who knows.

     

     

    As for kicking Liverpool out of the tourney, get real it was only a bus that was burned, the huns wrecked Manchester and UEFA washed their hands as it was outwith the stadium so a precedent has been served, did the same for every other city.town they have wrecked as well as nasty salutes in Jerusalem and they were inside the stadium. The tentacles of the covenanters reach far.

     

     

    As for the Europa, in all honesty the only side left I would be aware of is Atletico, get the defense sorted and stop being intimidated and we could win the damn thing.

    I get annoyed with the ‘one club’ and ‘glasgow derby’ type gimmicks we come away with whilst we are cozying up to the Huns behind the scenes and open our doors to 7000 of them, and the season ticket issues with concessions and all that. However, that wee video was a great piece of work.

    Eddi is under appreciated for sure, but Annie ( if that’s who you mean) is a wonderully talented singer.

     

    Her Aunt used to be a language teacher at my school. Either i wasn’t a good pupil, or she wasn’t a bry good teacher….the only Spanish I remember is “dos cervezas por favor” and that was self-taught:)
