McGeouch suffers in friendly test

824

Friendly games are all about building match sharpness while hopefully avoiding injury.  Celtic were given an excellent opportunity to shape up against Real Madrid last night but a suspected broken jaw to Dylan McGeouch who was knocked unconscious will set the player back several weeks.

Henrik Larsson spectacularly returned to action after a double jaw break after three weeks in 2003, scoring with a header within minutes although he walked off the field after his injury without additional complications.  We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and hope to see him in Champions League action next month.

    Kalmar??

Kalmar had a couple of good chances, HB look a bit shakey in defence both teams full with tall guys!!

    Celtic_First,

its lead by the heart but the head has a problem with the lack of any real action up to now.

My biggest issue is the way a judge overturned the judicial review panel decision, when the sfa handbook did have scope to punish as they seen fit.

Someone posted recently, that if duff & phelps are shown to have acted with conflict of interest, then any investigation into that, will delay BDO taking over and begining the liquidation and investigation process.

I am begining to believe political and other influences are being put on the judicial system to cause confusion and try and draw out the whole affair until a normalisation process has been completed, were hmrc are pressed into accepting the newclub owns the assets and hmrc are at risk of being viewed as over zealous for too small a return.

Political and unseen pressure is being applied, we know this, some judges bow to political and unseen pressure we have seen this.

Both these issues are a source of great embarassment to the nation yet they continue to brass it, msm\media house are doing a great job of keeping it very low on the international news scene.

So, with all thatin mind, I think they will be liquidated, the asset sale declared void with assets recovered and sold at public auction, BDO will then set about bringing all directors responsible for fraus to task, and begin recovery proceedings against all who benefited from EBT’s.

Investigations will lead BDO to before murray took over and further scandals will be uncovered.

The sfa will be forced to undertake an investigation into their own part in irregularities in the game, and forced to reincorporate with a new rule book and the band played believe it if you like :o)

  3. watching english community shield, not sure about the straight red card there for ivanovich, maybe studs were showing but first reaction was that he got the ball

  4. The standard of journalism in Scotland:

Charlie Mann: “Ally, are you disappointed that you have been called to the tribunal considering you represented Scotland many times and scored a winning goal in Euro ’96?”

(BBC prior to the game at Peterhead yesterday)

  5. commentators saying “it’s the potential danger of the challenge that refs are being asked to interpret, not neccesarilly whether or not the player got the ball”

I wonder if scottish refs have that same rule?????????????????

depending on if Celtic are playing or not of course!!!!!

  6. A wee clear up question………

Why do Duff and Phelps in their prospective bidders’ confidentiality document (NDA) refer to them as ‘The Rangers (IA)’ ……………. and this before any name change was required?????????

    Anyone???????

    TIA

  7. Sixteen roads @ 5.38,

Hope your link has the desired effect!

The wikipedia article seems balanced, but shares a fault with many others in referring to “anit-clericalism”: there’s no such thing as “clericalism” – “anti-clericalism” is a euphemism for anit-catholicism.

  8. SoT @9.59,

As students of Italian history know, Turin has been robbing Naples for 150 years.

  9. Was there an EK Bhoy on here collecting bikes a few weeks back? Insert your own punchline btw.

  10. I thought he was our best player first half. I wish him a speedy recovery.

    Still laughing at the huns!

  11. I’m afraid a broken jaw is more likely to set him back several months than several weeks. Here’s hoping it’s just a hairline.

What happened to green’s 20 investors .?….. Just asking, like….. Hearty LOL

  14. crivvens, i came on here, just to voice my opinion on last nights game, and im now getting all angry about those sevco, newco, blackco, stinkyco, or whatever co hordes….

still brainwashing the masses i see !!!

    anyhows.

I know, we are strong in midfield, (and im a champion of selling KI & Brown) and the manager, might be getting it right in a financial sense. (sounds like player manager for goodness sakes)

    BUT

after watching last nights match, young mcgeough must be utilised this season,

a season of less strain on winning the SPL. should surely mean, that the youngsters should get more matches.

    MY FEAR

is we will carry on as we always have done.

just keep playing the same or similiar team, most of the season, with no real foresight into the future.

I have heard Neil say, its very much week to week, game to game at Celtic.

but im of the belief that, this is were we let ourselves down.

we have finally got the transfer strategy correct, by buying in a player who should progress and get sold for a profit.

but we now, need to utilise our youths a little better, to further enhance ours & their potential.

young mcgeough, did indeed play against the superstars without fear. (previous posters)

give him 10 games, and watch him go.

    oops

i also thought we were pretty decent last night after fearing the worst. (up to a point obviously)

  15. Helsingborg 4-1 against pretty poor opposition who are 11th in their league, think Hearts v Dunfermline…

They got a couple of good players but from the first half performance I think we will be too strong for them…

Starry out curry to be made!!

  16. The Swedish game included more proper passes in the last five minutes of the first half than the entire Edinburgh derby, in which it looked as though players believed they would be fined if the delivered the ball effectively to a team-mate.

  17. lol, crivvens that sounds like an excitable post.

maybe that was real madrid v celtic that did it !!!

  18. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

Does anyone know why Yaya Tore pushed team mates away when they went to celebrate his goal with him…..then he didn’t join in with his team mates to celebrate their other 2 goals..??

  20. Super goal for Kalmar. Great cross, great low header back in the direction the cross came from.

Nothing wrong with Swedish football at all if this is typical.
