McIntyre, evidence on the descent towards insolvency

808

When asked on Twitter four years ago how Rangers were granted a licence to play European football in season 2011-12 when they were overdue with HMRC, SFA chief executive, Stewart Regan, replied, “If someone sends you a bill you disagree with then you do not accept it was overdue”.

Any business is allowed to dispute a tax demand, but former Rangers director, Donald McIntyre’s evidence at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday was clear, Rangers had accepted liability for unpaid PAYE and National Insurance claims in connection with the Wee Tax Case (DOS) in 2010.

If, as Regan suggests, Rangers misrepresented this fact to the SFA Licencing Committee in their March 2011 application, the Association now have action to consider.

If you have been around this story for the best part of the last decade you will recall a number of us writing on the perilous state of Rangers finances while the club was under the control of Sir David Murray. This was robustly disputed by the club at the time, but in his evidence McIntyre noted that, under Murray, the club appointed an insolvency expert to ensure they were not trading illegally.

Just one month before the sale of the club to Craig Whyte in May 2011, in an email produced by Craig Whyte’s counsel, Donald Findlay, Mr Mike McGill of Murray Holdings, advised that “it would appear forecasts for club have deteriorated, we will breach bank facility”.

Asked by Findlay if “HMRC were coming for the club and were after blood”, McIntyre said “Yes.” The directors of Oldco Rangers omitted this sentiment from their public comments at the time.

Rangers were a football club running a perilous financial strategy from the 1990s until liquidation was eventually confirmed in 2012. They established a mindset, not only in their own support, but in parts of ours too, that spending money you couldn’t afford on casino football was the only acceptable way clubs should behave.

You still hear the echoes of those times, from Willie Henderson’s request that Newco spend £50m, to comments a lot closer to home when Celtic fail to win a football game.

Please remember that while it is OK to report evidence discussed at court, you should not comment on matters pertaining to the charges against Craig Whyte.

The MSM reporting of this has been what can only be called a disservice.

Compare the commentary of James Doleman with Andrew Black of the BBC. This reveals many things: The audacity and disrespect of Lazy Mainstrean Journalism, and how it is designed to to divide and sell. It also reveals that Andrew Black is not a journalist, not a man and not to be trusted. He is an aspiring Andrew Marr, a Celebrity Tool who sets agendas, if you expand this MO beyond Fitba, one must ask how misinformed are we about more serious shit?

  5. Hey Pete,

People thought he was an outsider (Washington DC). He was, yet is not.

Currently a turf war going on amongst the elites and their agencies. A elite civil war for want of a better expression. Yes he is a narcissist, reality TV presenter, and had a mandate, and had to work with mobsters to get property developments in Manhattan and Atlantic City. Now he is dealing with mobsters in DC. It seems as if he is wilting, but he is crazy like a fox. Not as crazy as Hillary though. Turf war involves good and bad FBI/CIA people. Interesting Times.

If you have the time, and are interested, search YouTube for ‘George Webb’. He provides sourced material of America, as it is, and how it is not being investigated.

Some, as should be expected, ridicule him, for being an ‘internet bampot’. But his evidence is sourced.

Moving beyond him. The EU, the U.K. and all European countries are all vassals of the US elite. Not the people. The elite. When people recognize this, all policy decisions make sense. DJT is the joker in the contemporary pack…

    G’night.

Anyway, to other matters — all this activity by HMRC visiting several clubs on the one day and various addresses in France, deploying 180 officers plus French Colleagues all for a supposed £5Million fraud?

Hmm something doesn’t seem right there to me and I think there must be far more to this than is being revealed at the moment. I am also not that big a believer in random coincidence, something is not quite what it seems.

And now for something completely different.

If you have 18 minutes to spare have a look at this video. You will recognise the venue, possibly relate to the way it was built, the methods used and the ordinary people involved, but thereafter there is something really quite sinister here.

One of the, very, few positive things the commentator/co-commentator(?) said tonight was that at a recent international tourney the one player who stood out and who was head and shoulders above everyone else was Mikey Johnstone.

Very talented bhoy who will go far.

But if he ever is…….will two of the charges be…” Tax Evasion…and FACT Evasion” ?

Reading his feeble and weak attempts NOT to answer questions honestly yesterday showed him up to be far removed as the so called big powerful ” don’t mess with Murray ” type, that he enjoyed during his days in the chair….”electric chair” ?

I would not be surprised if at some point Findlay reminds him that he’s UNDER OATH ?
