More injuries and set-piece woes for Spartak

1051

Just as Celtic’s injury problems appear to be lifting Spartak Moscow’s are getting more acute each passing game.  Their cult-hero goalkeeper, Andriy Dykan, was substituted after picking up an injury in yesterday’s win against 10-man Amkar Perm and is unlikely to face Celtic.  Already injured, Pareja, Welliton, Parshivlyuk, Jurado and Romulo, never made the squad.

The goal Spartak lost to ninth-place Amkar, is worthy of note.  It was the eighth goal they have lost to a set piece in the last 10 games.  Celtic have been particularly effective from set pieces in Europe already this season and will see an opportunity in corners and free kicks deep in opposition territory.

Tuesday is the day…..

Get well wishes to hoopslegend Evander Sno.

I think a draw in Moscow tomorrow night will be a very, very good result.

    I know a few fellas wi a Lambeg,if that’s any use.

Will be meeting them next week,in fact.

I’ll ask,but I doubt I’ll be conscious long enough to hear their reply.

    And if I am,I won’t hear it for laughing……

Dear, dear. Given up on his beloved, and intent on creating collateral damage, this time by suggesting that image rights are no different from EBTs.

Wee clue-income from image rights is classed as such by HMRC,and taxed accordingly.

“Emdy had the misfortune to read Jabba’s latest?”

The last Jabba piece I read was about a month ago when he claimed Sevco had a 15,000 waiting-list for season tickets.

It is clearly editorial policy at that paper to sell the dream to Zombies. Although I think Traynor is a buffoon, I reckon he is just seeing out his time there and is simply writing what his editor asks him to.

No doubt Jabba is embarrassed by the p1sh he is writing just as much any sensible reader is. At least I would hope so.

Plenty of height and dig in the team

  13. I’m pretty sure it will be a 4-5-1 in Moscow. There will be a role for Sammy, if he is fit enough to start. Not sure if Ledley will be, but we could do with his experience in the midfield.

I’d be happy with a draw but who knows?

  14. Just to say that I too have always read petec as “pe-tec” and not sure I’ll ever be able to convince myself it’s “Pete See”.

Anyone got a wee link to the (ahem) new London underground map that was posted at some point over the weekend?

I just hope the average punter in Scotland, who takes little to do with football can see for themselves what the huns have done and can see through the red top spin.

That 100 MILLION is just a conservative estimate of whats owed to the taxman (ie us), it doesn’t include all the other companies, individuals and charities they screwed with complete and unsurpassed dignity!

  18. I wonder who has a really sore head this morning and will crawl back onto the blog later to try and excuse his language and abuse last night?

Just as well we’re a forgiving lot.

  19. Jabba never had a clue about EBT’s, still doesn’t; now he is a self-acclaimed authority on international image rights, international contracts, international tax laws, international banking, international ownership of satellite TV broadcasts and international sucking it up.

The man needs to get a job.

  20. The team is starting to look good, big game tomorrow.

Charlie and Jamsie would sit this one out, Charlie for his lack of pace Jamsie for his lack of experience. Would go with,

  21. Jobo – “Mind you I also think we’re in with a decent shout of doing the Quadruple this year”

How can we do the quadruple? We weren’t even entered for the Ramsden cup.

  22. Good morning and Hail Hail from a sunny Barcelona!

Should have had more goals on Saturday but loved that performance. Armageddon??!! I could quite happily watch Celtic play like that all season.

Was hoping to get tickets for the Celtic end but with no guarantees I cracked and got a couple in the Barca end. Still tickets available but no chance of getting any sitting together. For anyone that is interested then its best to buy them direct from the club:

Looking forward to the game tomorrow, fingers crossed we can get something over there!

@ greenjedi – That is the team I would go with as well.

  23. SonsofErin –

No, had we been in that one we’d have been going for the quintuple then. How many tournaments are we (still) in this season?

Back to work for me thought I’ll lurk for your reply and sincere apology ;-)

  24. Jobo – Oh, I was talking about the only quadruple that seems to matter. A european trophy is no substitute for the mighty Ramsden cup, after all ;)
