More injuries and set-piece woes for Spartak

1051

Just as Celtic’s injury problems appear to be lifting Spartak Moscow’s are getting more acute each passing game.  Their cult-hero goalkeeper, Andriy Dykan, was substituted after picking up an injury in yesterday’s win against 10-man Amkar Perm and is unlikely to face Celtic.  Already injured, Pareja, Welliton, Parshivlyuk, Jurado and Romulo, never made the squad.

The goal Spartak lost to ninth-place Amkar, is worthy of note.  It was the eighth goal they have lost to a set piece in the last 10 games.  Celtic have been particularly effective from set pieces in Europe already this season and will see an opportunity in corners and free kicks deep in opposition territory.

Tuesday is the day…..

Bryce Curdy-The story I heard was about 15 years ago, and current at the time as my ex worked in said hospital.

    —————————————————–

Dopwn Ayr way back then, we were all familiar with the terrible tale.

Two versions emerged – one of Mr, and the Mrs.

Got to be careful how you frame such things.

For the Mr, in soundscape: Bzzzzzz, nnnnngh, ‘uh-oh’.

For the Mrs. – more interestingly the excuse formed a case of changing a lightbulb, the wooden stool slipping, turning upside down and an unfortunate impaling taking place.

All hearsay and urban legend of course. Allegedly, etc, etc. But, man, did they have legs (no pun intended on that Mrs story ;))

  3. James Traynor today, October 1st 2012 sets a new world record for tenuous straw-clutching obfuscation by attempting to draw parallels between sporting image rights and EBTs/dual contracts:

“Basically it works like this: A player wants £500,000 a year but insists his image rights are worth £100,000. The club might agree to pay him £400,000 but allow him the freedom to exploit his image rights. The money from those rights goes to another source, usually a company, which means both the club and player are benefiting.

Both are beating the system. That’s a pretty simple example but the fundamentals are the same whether it’s £100,000 or £10m and we ask ourselves if these deals are really any different from EBT/dual contracts.”

Bravo, Mr.Traynor, a new frontier in barrel-scraping constructivism.

I’m sure they’ll be sititng in customs house and Centre 1 in thoughtful chin-stroking accord; ‘Hmm, y’know this fat b*stard might have a point…’

Next week: why Ryder Cup golf is sectarian cos it’s played on GREENS with WHITE balls.

As sure a sign as any that things are gonna get tasty over the next month!

  7. Funny how the consequences of Rangers tax avoidance is bad for Scottish football but dragging in other clubs on another unrelated tax matter entirely is not.

    Bitter man.

Apologies if posted already, fholks, I’ve not loggin in here in a while. But I just noticed in Duff & Phelps’ recently published doc on the zombies website that they apparently sold the “HISTORY” of Rangers to Newco on 14th June.

That’ll include the outstanding debt then, eh?? You can’t have your cake and eat it, Charles. Are D&P still trying to appease the fans? If so, why? Is this a legal document, or just a work of fiction? Unbelieveable.

7.1 A detailed outline of the marketing process undertaken by the Joint Administrators which preceded the sale of the business, history and certain assets of the Club to Newco on 14 June 2012, was provided in the previous report to creditors dated 10 July 2012.

  12. Neil Lennon in excellent mood at the pre match conference in Moscow.

    – We obviously watch “Braveheart” before our games. That’s not all, we wore kilts and dance all in the dressing room before the games.

They are trying to claim they sold it as Goodwill, which is an intangible asset in yearly accounts but has a value to the company.

Like when a good chippy or pub gets taken over, the new buyer pays to use the same sign and name as it carrys weight in the area.

Cant be done in a sporting context. The only time that it can be considered is in merges between clubs where they site the former clubs achievements. This is not that, the old club ceased to exist, this one is a new entity and has no claim whatsoever to the old clubs history.

  14. South Of Tunis:

I agree, it is not all the work of the ‘devil’. I thought the book, though I have a couple of chapters to read, was poorly edited and presented (amateurish even) but it is the innuendo that the author often hints at (with supporting references) that when read in conjunction with other books that raises the hairs on the back of the neck. (And I am alluding to the abuse of elected power as opposed satanic meddling). I read every book with an open mind.

When you recall what went on in Belgium and Kincorra with government knowledge, you have to ask yourself what else is going on that is obscene and deprived but has the protection of the state.

  15. Neil also asked if Celtic should have a statue of Aiden McGeady put up at Celtic Park due to the transfer fee we received for him.
