  2. Just to say, today is my Birthday. Not a bad day to have it on for any Celtic fan.I was at the 7-1 game.My father took me along with all the rest of our family, but being so young,I dont really remember any of it.What I do remember was going home to Govan, and the whole family having a fantastic party.Around 20 crowded into my Aunts living room. All the songs being sung, hugs, back slapping, everyone beaming.Sheer euphoria.

That was my first ever game. Not bad eh.

Think Broony is playing a different role now,but with Biton there it is allowng him to move forward more.Remember his goal at Pittodrie last year.Started the move on his own 18 yard line, ran the whole length of the pitch to finish off the move. The boy really is the heartbeat of our team. Not since Roy Aitken have I ever seen anyone with the will for Celtic to win.

    Hi ……………..,

Thanks for your email, yes it was certainly more than one ‘honest mistake’ on Saturday.

I think given the furore caused the last time we asked for clarification on a referee’s decision it’s unlikely that the Club will make its feelings public, however some of the decisions were quite unbelievable and I think this will be reflected in the post match reports.

    Best regards

    John Paul

I agree his role isn’t totally the same but I think that too often people forget just how packed the opposition half gets.

I’m always pointing out to the wee man how teams have all there players in their own half of the pitch almost as soon as we get control of the ball.

    HAPPY HOOOOOPY BIRTHDAY to

    TURKEYBHOY!!!!

My Dad is old enough to remember that day. The day he forgets it is the day he’s on a one-way ticket to a clinic in Switzerland.

Neither will happen, his portrait in the attic might be there instead!

  9. The only way to stop masons cheating celtic is through Video refereeing.

It would destroy the spontaneity of the game, but hey ho.

NL challenged them – look at his treatment. It doesn’t matter, they should be challenged every step of the way until anti catholic racism is put to bed.

Would Wenger or Mourinho accept this? No they wouldn’t, and would become subject to death threats etc.

celtic had a golden opportunity to highlight to the whole world continuously and beyond dispute, the racist attacks on catholics and celtic, when NL was being dragged through hell. They did a little of it, but once again failed to lead our people when it really mattered.

Apart from Fergus McCann, you can’t regard any celtic board as being of sufficient intelligence and morality to stand up for us. Being super wealthy seems to induce conservatism at the expense of our support.

I’d apply to join the MLS now; they already have canadian and mexican interests in their league, and just might be progressive enough for us to be allowed to join.

Of course DD in his rubber cell will hold us back waiting for a zero percent chance of english league entry, or the return of the old firm.

Poll the support and they would find the majority want to leave the hun and scotland behind (you’d hope)- we’re sick of being second class citizens

John Paul’s email was imo pathetic- the usual crap we have been subjected to all our lives. The celtic board are becoming enemies of catholics in scotland- with every sentence they fail to utter, they condemn us to a life of inequality.

I’ve finally joined Kev Jungle camp. Rebels are needed in the boardroom to lead us out of this perverted league. The present incumbents are moral incompetents at best, complicit with the masonic agenda at worst

  10. My e mail to the SLO.

I would hope that Celtic are not waiting on a match report from Sat. With that bizarre display of refereeing by the officials, this can not be let go, to a man every Celtic supporter I have spoken to are looking for action from the club to back us up, it’s alright us running amok on social media in our on web sites but it gets us no where, the club has to say something on our behalf.

More so even though we won on Sat. Doesent take away the honest mistakes from the very same man who was with the cabal at hampden in the semi final against ICT.

I’m afraid JP if the club do not engage with some sort of way about this to the SFA, then the club had better batten down the hatches as there will be a s…. Load of people wanting to know why?

I back my club to the hilt at every opportunity, and I’m afraid if the club just sit there and say nothing and do not back us up will open up one big can of worms

The Celtic supporters are livid, and they have every right to be.

    Thank you

I was at that game with my Ayr-supporting side of the family. They could not believe their eyes.

Johnny Doyle maybe touched legend status for us with his Real Madrid goal, maybe because he lived the dream. Maybe also because he always had time for anyone who couldn’t live the dream.

But he was a legend at Ayr United too. They loved that man

  12. BSR so basically nothing will be challenged and these cheats will carry on. Given the furore the last time dear God they should be creating a furore inside Celtic at the blatant cheating by these cretins not worrying about what the huns in the sfa or smsm think.

Hopefully the board don’t let you me and every Celtic supporter down.

  14. I’d say that JPs reply to the e mail, thinks that this one will blow over, I think he is in for a rude awakening if that is what he is thinking, I haven’t had an answer as yet so maybe I should give him the curtesy of a reply first I think, instead of the knee jerk reaction rout.

  15. The referee system in Scotland is set up to be unaccountable, all the clubs in the league must have agreed to this at some point I would imagine.

So it would appear that any complaints are futile as there is no accountability process in place.

Until this changes Fleming and his cohorts will go unpunished unless they do something really stupid like give a major decision against Sevco the Second or have too Timmy sounding a name.

A complaint to the SFA will fall on deaf ears as they have no process to censure or sanction the referees in question.

The only thing a complaint as this point can achieve is to salve the ire of the Celtic Support at this time and that is something the club should be thinking about very seriously and carefully.

Finger out of asses and ears Celtic..

Nail on head email. I know a few Tims ready to turn their backs on the corrupt Scottish game, if Celtic fail to act on Saturday’s cheating.

  17. Was at the match on Saturday and was about 20 feet from the hand ball couldn’t really see it at the time.

Seen the highlights yesterday, how the feck can the linesman not see it as he looked straight on, whats the point of having officials when the wont make a decision that is so blatant.

I’m becoming increasingly of the same mind, mate. My gripes with KEVJ have always been that he has been too severe. As a mineshafter and no great fan of the board,I thought considered criticism was more likely to win minds.

The move against the board from posters here has been marked-many a happyclapper has seen the light. Or the potential for darkness by pursuing the current policies.

But still,I thought KEVJ was a number of steps too far,not enough room offered for debate.

  21. The answer, I think the club are skating on thin ice here, it’s leadership we are looking for here, the club are more or less putting it in the hands of the supporters, and that will end in tears.

Any way here is his reply.

    Hi Tony

I hope you’re well, I can’t disagree with you on the points in your email.

I’d be surprised if the Club makes any public comment on this but I’d be equally surprised if the matter is not raised privately, some of the decisions were unbelievable.

Having won the match this is the perfect opportunity to highlight this matter and bring it to the fore. I’ve not had the chance to speak to anyone about it today but I think that it’s likely that the Club will address the matter in private.

If I pick up anything further I’ll be in touch to let you know.

Beggars belief, that reply. And that’s not a criticism of JPT.

It implies a lack of understanding by the board of how the fans feel.

    That is not good.

I suggested last night that this was a ‘line-in-the-sand’ moment. I also pointed out that we’d had a few of them, and been let down, offered a few platitudes.

I genuinely think Celtic need to listen to our anger on this one.

  24. To paraphrase…

Well I’m afraid on that I have to agree with you, be it on there own heads they have been told, act on it or dismiss with it, Sat. Was a bridge to far even for me.

If no action is taken on whether this individual is a cheat, or incompetent, supporters need to know, I’m not paying money to a bent corrupt organisation who are answerable to no one, that’s just not happening.

  27. weet weet weet(GBWO) on

    From November 2010

This week the Scottish FA announced that they are putting a plan in place which would see Irish referees officiate Scottish league games this weekend. The action comes in response to the expected strike of Scotland’s grade one referees which will affect around 20 games in their Premier League and First Division. But what has caused such extreme action and how has it come to this?

The Scottish Referee’s Union agreed unanimously to strike in response to fears for their personal safety and the amount of criticism that they have received in recent months.

The pivotal moment in this saga relates to a moment on the 17th October when referee Dougie McDonald awarded Celtic a penalty against Dundee United, and then changed his mind. The decision wasn’t questioned. “The committee reached a unanimous view that the overturning of the original decision was correct” said the SFA in a statement. But what caused problems was the way that McDonald reported the incident to Celtic manager Neil Lennon after the game. McDonald claimed after the match that he was encouraged to over-turn the decision on the advice of his assistant Steven Craven who had called him over to discuss the incident. However the event was investigated further by the Scottish Football Association after linesman Steven Craven resigned from his post as a result of how the incident was handled.

    Read more at http://www.footballfancast.com/football-blogs/the-scottish-refereeing-controversy#6mBOYLiUkWtrUxaP.99

In a press conference, SFA chief executive Stewart Regan announced that when McDonald gave his account of the events to the FA during the investigation his story had changed. Rather than being called over and encouraged to change his mind, McDonald went to speak to Craven ‘unprompted’ to ask whether or not he thought Dundee United’s goalkeeper has touched the ball. In regards to McDonald’s altered account of events, Regan said: “If you want to mark it down as a lie, mark it down as a lie.”

While the decision didn’t change the outcome of the game (Celtic went on to win anyway) the whole affair has left a sour taste in the mouths of Scottish football fans and has brought into question the integrity of officials. This had led to Scottish MPs calling for referee’s to declare their footballing alliances in order to protect the authority of the referee.

Aside from their game against Dundee United, Celtic have had a large part to play in the refereeing controversy. After their 3-1 Old Firm defeat, Celtic were angered that Rangers were awarded a penalty and that Lee McCulloch wasn’t sent off. As a result Celtic wrote to the Scottish FA asking for referee Willie Collum to explain his decisions, and reportedly this isn’t the first time the FA has received such a letter from Celtic. Amid all the fuss, referee Collum received threatening phone calls at his family home. But as former Scottish referee Kenny Clark explained, Celtic’s enquiries only act to damage refereeing integrity further: “If a decision is given in Celtic’s favour, people will inevitably say that’s because Celtic have been making complaints. Should a decision be made against Celtic, again they will say that’s because of the complaints Celtic have been making. It puts the match officials into something of a no-win situation.”

But of course it isn’t only Celtic who are putting referees under pressure, and it’s the increasing level of criticism and threats to themselves and their families that have caused the decision to strike. The Scottish Senior Referee’s Association announced: “statements questioning honesty and integrity have been aimed across refereeing in general and have led to an unprecedented level of abuse and genuine concerns for safety and for the ability to carry out normal family and business commitments.”

Refereeing modern football is increasingly difficult and Hamilton manager Billy Reid has voiced his concerns over the the pressure referee’s are under: “I feel for him (McDonald), but they do make mistakes. Maybe refs do that too many times, but it’s maybe due to the pressure they’re now being put under. I think it has to calm down a little for the sake of everybody.” – but of course it is easier to call for calm when it’s not your team on the wrong end of this decision.

Whether or not the strike will improve the working conditions of referees is debatable. Referee’s shouldn’t be sheltered from criticism, but the levels that it has reached is indefensible. But then it should also be remembered that the jobs of players and managers rest on the decisions of officials, and in these situations emotions and passion will be running high. There is no way that pressure in football can be relieved, and as a result referees will remain under the same scrutiny as before.

    ……………………………………..

So the club are doing sfa, expected, sad really when you think about it.

It’s 2015 ffs, and yet we say nothing, now I see where the suits are coming from, disagree with them 100%, I also believe they of the mindset that stirring up the media has detremental effects on the club, again I disagree 100%.

It is being bourn out on a daily basis, that being Irish~Catholic~Celtic supporter can be bad for your health in scotland, on the football park is their way of showing Timmy his place, sort of hidden in plain sight.

The shit is happening already, and the club putting their neck on the line will change feck all, the media will get all hot and bothered for a time, it will die down and things will carry on, unless the pot keeps getting stirred.

The only people who can attempt to stop this is the club, they are the one thing that ties us all together at the end of the day, they are our megaphone, bampots like us can say nothing, we will never be taken seriously, the media will either mock or ignore us, they can’t ignore the club.

Nothing imo will change for the worse by speaking out, get their corruption from the top to the bottom out in the open, what can they do ? kick the club out, please do.

I don’t believe the club are acting in the best interests of the shareholders with their silence, that is the only way they will listen, they have no choice, even if they don’t want to, they are for sure not giving a toss for the supporters, the only way to make them do anything is via the shareholders, Res 12 was the start imo, things will hopefully kick on from that hopefully.

I know we all want it to stop now, but that ain’t gonna happen, we have waited for over 125 years, what’s a few more if we either get out of the league, or a level playing field, if we can’t get either of those options, we may as well shut up the shop now, what’s the point.

Be interesting to see how attack minded Paul is today.

  30. Interesting stuff from JOHNJAMESSITE but not a chance that mob will kiss Poundland goodbye. As usual their arrogance will be their downfall.

  31. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

“I’m fairly certain a deal could be brokered by the SFA and Queens Park to play at Hampden, but we should do so as a Scottish Premiership team. We could survive a 25 point penalty and still gain automatic promotion, but should we liquidate RIFC/TRFCL as many believe is inevitable, it would be back to the fourth tier. This is unacceptable.”

And there we have it, from one of their better pundits, even if we liquidate we still want to be treated as a big team and be in the premiership! Incapable of accepting responsibility for their own ills and still wanting to be exceptionalised at the expense of every other team in Scotland.

Liquidation and the fourth tier were too good for them last time around and will be again this time around.

Sorry Mr James but you are full of shite..
