Moussa’s violation

632

When the players arrived at Lennoxtown for training yesterday morning, Brendan Rodgers had no intention of allowing Moussa Dembele to leave the club.  Such was the player’s behaviour over the following two hours, the manager’s view changed to “Get him out of here.”

Yet again, the days ahead of an important game were clouded by distraction, but this time it took the form of insubordination against the manager.  Brendan’s view changed from not wanting to be left with only two strikers, to insisting the player was shipped out of the club.

One photographer, there for the press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game, told the manager, “I’ve been doing this for 30 years and never seen behaviour like that.”

You and I have seen many come and go over the years, so losing one is nothing new.  Receiving £20m also breaks a barrier in what we can ask for our players in the future, but the manner which this came about is a source of regret.  Moussa is a great player, one who delivered for us when it mattered most.  His goals and swagger were a joy to watch.  Now, the memory of his achievements have been violated by his behaviour.  Having a go at the manager on Twitter, where he talked about being lied to (utter rubbish) and ‘Liked’ a comment from Chris Sutton saying he was targeting Brendan, all while playing to “Bhoys and Ghirls” is deplorable. I’ll get over it and applaud politely when you do the Paradise Windfall 15 years from now, but we’re not buying it, Moussa.

Lots to say on the transfer window, but I’ll pick up on it more next week.  We have a game tomorrow against an outfit who think they can win the league.  This is a day for Brendan and Scott Brown, Dedryck, Kieran, Callum, Tom and the others to do what they do so often against Newco.  It’s a day for you and me to lift the team and paint Glasgow green and white.

Last month was traumatic, but it was also cathartic.  We are a united club with a bit of an edge right now.  Do your thing, Celtic.  Spank this lot one more time.

  7. Corry,

Welcome. But why open with a diatribe against the Board and executives and management levels at Celtic?

Do you attend many Celtic games or even watch them on SKY or BT?

  8. Neganon

Your posts are sort of what I think when I’m emotional and annoyed.

However, all things considered, we have just won a double treble and sit on 7 in a row.

Was talking to a few confident Huns tonight. If we turn up tomorrow, regardless of the circumstances we’ll win.

I’ve made a right few quid over the past few years betting -1 and -2. Same bet tomorrow.

    No breakfast club for me

    I have no game tomorrow

Unlike others, I refuse to accept we are playing anything other than a 6 year old club

Why Celtic find reason to charge its own (7000) fans £49 for this game, only they can answer

It was £28 for same seats last week -that’s what our fans should have been charged

On another point, will be interesting to hear the 6 year old clubs – executive fan group, songs tomorrow and any damage to our stadium

Wonder if the Police will take affirmative action

  10. NorrieM good point if there is only 800 orcs then Strathclydes finest should have no problem arresting them for their despicable songs

    D. :)

  11. And Neganon

Don’t flounce because we need checks and balances and you provide that.

Also regardless of what’s been said about Lustig he’d be one of the first picks tomorrow. Hunskelper in the extreme.

  12. GG I have never really liked the paradise windfall draw guff. Just another money making scheme.

David. Living in an echo chamber? Just means listening only to those who hold the same views as you – blinding yourself to alternatives.

GFTB I always ensure I listen to those who disagree with me. Done it throughout my life. You know nothing about me. But I do know the board are treating us contemptuously and not just from what you see.

BCW for two years in a row I have had a treble party in my house. The only proviso for attendance has been wear the hoops. Both days were great. I enjoy what Brendan has achieved. I enjoy our successes.

But I always look to the future. About what we could and should be. I always know our lack of ambition will kill us. And so it is again. I think the Cassandra stuff is the most accurate. Time and time again we destroy ourselves because we won’t push on. It’s incredibly frustrating and needless but it seems celtic is destined to be like this. We are weak I’m the boardroom.

But all of the day to day stuff pales into insignificance with the Huns death and our disgraceful part in their revival. We had a once in a lifetime (in fact maybye ever) chance to completely change things forever. To challenge the racism, the cheating, the corruption. To change the game forever.

What had happened since is the most shameful episode of our history and a betrayal of our forefathers and our future generations.

    There is no forgiving that.

Police costs must come into the price and am afraid the Jason denayers are in the minority … like it or lump it “fans” want to attend this game, more people are interested in this game, Brendan is here for this game, any signing we can make this game is the carrot … the Huns cheated but to close your mind and think it doesn’t matter is just daft…. and again for some Celtic fans who grew up not winning games against whatever shoite the flies are circling these days Celtic v Sevco is big business

    Canny wait CSC

  14. I posted on here over 8 years ago…..and am a big supporter of Paul B…..so to you Johnny come lately calling me a Hun….If You Know Your History….GFY….

  15. Neg thanks again for the advice, and without sounding like an echo, I hope you are supporting the bhoys mañana.

Do you think we will win?

Do you want us to win, or get beat so you can prove a point?

    D. :)

  16. NorrieM

Admire your stance but I just go to see Celtic. Admittedly it’s sweeter when we beat the 6yo club but just because of all that surrounds them.

Ticket prices, totally agree, we had a chance to normalise them and we didn’t take it.

At what point did I say I knew anything about you ?

You have always responded to me and I appreciate your reply’s but I think you are one of those Celtic fans (and I know loads) who will never be happy .. hopefully I use CQN as a positive if I used it as a negative I would chuck it

Got a feeling the champions might just win tomorrow ??

  20. Corry the boards contempt for Celtic supporters is pretty well known. They are absolutely living in the shadow of what they think is their own legend.

They are taking outrageous bonuses and no one holds them to account and their are are few sites that peddle their nonsense for favours. CQN is clearly one of them.

The thing is with this is that it will always get you in the end.

Gutenberg the important thing is always to progress. Not live in the past. We are not progressing we are regressing. That’s because the boards goal is not football progression it’s money making.

We are not goal confront and it will destroy us.

That’s good you still get some joy out the Tic.

You can always say things should be better ? And they have, you simply cannot argue with the happenings at Celtic.

Regarding the Creeps from the Crypt lot, well few did anything ? Not just Celtic PLC, not just the CSA etc. Most remained quiet, inactive and remained happy at their torment.

So be honest. That failing is mine’s, your’s and every other Tims*
