Moussa’s violation

632

When the players arrived at Lennoxtown for training yesterday morning, Brendan Rodgers had no intention of allowing Moussa Dembele to leave the club.  Such was the player’s behaviour over the following two hours, the manager’s view changed to “Get him out of here.”

Yet again, the days ahead of an important game were clouded by distraction, but this time it took the form of insubordination against the manager.  Brendan’s view changed from not wanting to be left with only two strikers, to insisting the player was shipped out of the club.

One photographer, there for the press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game, told the manager, “I’ve been doing this for 30 years and never seen behaviour like that.”

You and I have seen many come and go over the years, so losing one is nothing new.  Receiving £20m also breaks a barrier in what we can ask for our players in the future, but the manner which this came about is a source of regret.  Moussa is a great player, one who delivered for us when it mattered most.  His goals and swagger were a joy to watch.  Now, the memory of his achievements have been violated by his behaviour.  Having a go at the manager on Twitter, where he talked about being lied to (utter rubbish) and ‘Liked’ a comment from Chris Sutton saying he was targeting Brendan, all while playing to “Bhoys and Ghirls” is deplorable. I’ll get over it and applaud politely when you do the Paradise Windfall 15 years from now, but we’re not buying it, Moussa.

Lots to say on the transfer window, but I’ll pick up on it more next week.  We have a game tomorrow against an outfit who think they can win the league.  This is a day for Brendan and Scott Brown, Dedryck, Kieran, Callum, Tom and the others to do what they do so often against Newco.  It’s a day for you and me to lift the team and paint Glasgow green and white.

Last month was traumatic, but it was also cathartic.  We are a united club with a bit of an edge right now.  Do your thing, Celtic.  Spank this lot one more time.

  2. Hoping for a win – any win – for us today.

We’re very much in control of our own destiny, and if we turn up, and play to our potential, we will get the result we all want. Score is immaterial. I am concerned with all that has gone on at the Club since the CL exit, and hope that the players can focus on the job at hand, and not be distracted by all the “noise”.

Unconcerned by what has happened at Newco. Gerrard has brought a lot of expectation there, and a compliant media are helping by hyping them up to give the impression that they are better than the reality. A lot of players have been brought in, but with the exception of McGregor ( arguably), none are better than we have available. Gerrard seems to like Croatian players. So much so that he’s filling his team with guys who weren’t good enough to beat his own team. Today wil be a wake up call for the hun hordes, and it won’t be pretty.

Stay safe, before and after the game. A defeat for them will be bad news and they don’t react well to adversity.

    COYBIG.

  3. All my friends and sons will be at the game today I want a victory and safe home for all tims attending today.

  4. the glorious balance sheet on

I’m expecting today to be a bit of a war of attrition.

They will try to drag us down to their level.

Hope Edouard is fighting fit and up for it. If so we’ll win.

If not, a score draw is likely in my view.

  5. Always worry when we play the deid team. They have always cheated, ably abetted by the MIBs. Hope Collum doesn’t have us sick after the game is finished. He has history, of course. Will he let Morelos and Lafferty do what is second nature to them or will he punish them, as happens in Europe???

  6. Fine morning in the Chillederns…

It’s going to be a interesting game today, it could go a number of ways…

Yet, I can only see a tight game…

Sevco’s enhanced “physicality” means that the ref is key, if Mr Collum is not prepared to enforce the rules of association football we could have an uphill struggle…

But we have the best team, we have the best management and we have Celtic Park…

    DBHOY @ 5:28 AM,

Yes, it’s an amazing and to my mind, vital to live in the “now”.

I’ve noticed, especially amongst younger ones (though this may be due to better recognition and diagnoses) that mental health issues like G.A.D. seem to be rife.

It strikes me that to ease these symptoms often mindfulness excersises are recommended. Yet it seems to me that living in the now is the natural way that animals function.

Are we taught to focus on the future and obsess in the past, rather than live in the now?

Does this thinking add or exasperate mental health issues?

It strikes me how many poeple say to me “your always happy”, “your always positive”. For me it’s just natural and due to living in now, though it does take practise.

I watched an interesting video the other day…

    http://www.google.co.uk/url?q=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3D47DmUM7MW7s&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwi3ibzH45vdAhWrKcAKHbyFBxwQtwIIDjAB&usg=AOvVaw0xbMYtYzmNdKbuaJ3B1gMn

Now obviously I have huge respect for Michio Kaku and find him fascinating.

However I was slightly disturbed by this video. It seems to me he collated the marshmallow test, which seems to be a very good indicator for children, with an ability to map the future.

For me this is only one aspect of the test, self discipline, will power and many other aspects are at play in delayed gratification.

He collates intelligence directly with the ability to visualize the future, and map your course to achieve your “pot of gold”

Is this obsession with mapping thr future and your “pot of gold” healthy, mentally, I think not…

Once more , or should that be one of many more ( I hope), I will head of to Celtic park to cheer the double treble winning team on against scotlands newest club.

Got to thinking last night about the days gone by and the many games I’ve attended and something just hit me, when I first went to Celtic park my wee da always gave me a lift over, and when he couldn’t go I would be one of the wee guys asking, “Mr can you gee me a lift”.

And now awe these years later I’m having to get the lift up to my seat, still its could be worse I suppose.

    Team news?????

Normally would be looking to hammer this shower today by 4 or 5 goals, and today ain’t gonna be different, mon the hoops just dae it.

All good luck to the Celts today. We’re chasing the league leaders, six points behind them, a win keeps us within striking distance of our goal.

Haven’t seen anything of Gerrard’s team this season and it hasn’t yet been able to move the ball at the speed we operate at in past games Ive attended He adds another variable to the Collum conundrum.

    Pick-up’s arrived.

I have to agree with you re dwelling on the past. If times were good, they’re irrelevant.

And if they were bad, that’ll make you feel worse.

  20. LUCKYCODY,

You do know,I hope, that Celtic are a PLC.A company. You do know that PLs job,as the CEO,of a football club,is to strike a balance between, making his company a profit, and making the team a success, unlike other CEOs,whose only job is the profit side.Celtics shares will be trading at their highest ever,so for the Company side of things,he has done a wonderful job.In the last few years,we have won the double treble, qualified for the CL,twiceand the Europa league.Very difficult to do now.The double treble, never before.

If you were an outsider looking in,you would think that we are a fantastically run club.If you think that anytime soon,PL will be getting sacked, you are wired to the Moon.Just hard facts that will get me called a Board lover.

Add in the CEOs fantastic track record of attracting sponsorship deals, the latest, our best ever, and again, from the outside looking in,its impressive.

We are in the process, under this CEO,of building a Hotel,Superstore, and Museum. Not for profit now,as some planks,go on about, but to leave a legacy for years to come.Transformed Celtic Park approaches into a thing of beauty, buying up land for a Fanzone.

Tell you this,if he became available, there would be a host of EPL clubs after him.But maybe you are right,he would not pay £4 million for Mc Ginn,so he is fekin useless.

Fek the Board, intae this shower of scum today Hoops.

  21. LUCKYCODY,

Forgot the downside.PL,and the rest of the useless planks on the Board, have been an absolute disgrace in their handling of the Res 12 fiasco.

Disgrace being far too kind a word for their performance on this.Shame really,if he and his cronies on the Board had nailed that,he would have been remembered as a hero.
