Newco spend a penny then PR turns on Celtic fans

993

You may have read a story released by Newco’s PR agent to their go-to Glove Puppet in the media about a dispute over payment for damages to Celtic Park when Newco fans made their first visit to the stadium.

I heard before the Hogmanay game that Newco would be paying the damages their fans did on that occasion, and that Celtic would pay for any damage caused by our fans Ibrox that week. What I didn’t know at the time was that Celtic unilaterally decided this would be the case.

Concerned there may be reprisals following the vandalism to Celtic Park, the club informed Newco they would let it be known that we would pay for any damage to Ibrox by visiting fans – as long as we could inspect the damage we would be charged for.

The Hogmanay match passed without incident; tea light candles were left in visiting toilets to diffuse washroom odours, Celtic were not taken up on their offer to inspect and pay for damage, none was reported to match observers, police or Celtic.

Celtic had earlier issued Newco with a request for payment for the vandalism their fans inflicted on our stadium. Payment was not received, so this week we withheld the same amount from ticket money due to Newco.

The issue is finished; no one is withholding money from Celtic. There is no story.

We’ve not had to deal with nonsense like this for four years and we’d gladly never deal with it again. The issue was placed in the media today by PR, alluding to damages Celtic offered to pay for, but which didn’t happen. Be clear on this – Celtic offered to pay for any damages but no damage was reported.  The PR stunt is a deliberate attempt to damage the good reputation of Celtic fans.  Is it any wonder print media sales are dropping off at such an alarming rate for some?

Let’s remember, this is the same PR used by SPFL sponsor, Ladbrokes, an unacceptable action by a representative of the league’s sponsor.  It’s as though some are too angry to stomach the great news that Celtic have secured the £2.8m signing of Ivorian Kouassi Eboue without lashing out.

The club are delighted to have secured Kouassi. Despite his age, he’s first team ready, and has the character and ability to go a long way in the game. Between now and our cup finals in August, he’ll settle into Scotland and into a championship winning team.

My monologues are to die for .

That way I can have an intelligent conversation.

    Seriously re. Trump.

I too have concerns on that score.

Balanced by the fact that the Pres. is not a one man band .

He is perhaps laying down a marker that he will not be the touchy feely supine pushover who permitted Putin to grab Crimea and the Chinese to ” create ” South Pacific islands. ( viz the One China policy.)

Under no circumstances does China wish to lose the USA market .

    We`ll see.

Anyway back to the dialogue which was most interesting and may help me explain why so many CQN’rs hate me.

You were spouting some non sequitirs (which is normally what you do when logically cornered or outwitted) on how I was promoting being a Celtic victim for not accepting the PLC’s vision of the Old Firm.

Additionally, that I was somehow tainting the Celtic support for being victims by having the temerity to ask my fellow Celtic supporters, such as yourself, why Celtic PLC have been delinquent in their responses to the 5-way agreement, Resolution 12 and The OBAF act.

In my opinion the PLC are guilty of depraved indifference to Celtic supporters on these 3 issues.

For you to respond in such fashion suggests that unless one is a green sheep then you must be a victim is deeply flawed.

Only fascists have this perverse logic and I cannot believe you are such because you are a Tim.

    So splainit to me.

  3. No one has to splainanything to you. You’re a complete irrelevance, a lunatic posting under a female name.

No one cares. You are an embarrassment to the Celtic support. Unfortunately like the huns, we have our fair share of the dregs of society that tag along under the Celtic umbrella, you are their equivalent, and are treated with the disdain you deserve.

A friend of mine is a friend of a very close friend of Michael O’Hallaron. He told me only 4 players at Poundland speak to MO, 2 of them are Millar and Forrester, can’t remember the others. Halliday completely ignores him altogether because of his background.

    …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Respect to all 4 of those players for doing so.

I’d hope sincerely that it is Chinese whispers.

Sadly, it is likely to be True.

I’d Love to know the real reason Chris Sutton is fighting as hard for Celtic now as he did when he played for us, he chucked it when Gordon was appointed, IMO.

    EVERYONE makes mistakes.

    Hey , Mag.

I try to use facts to structure my opinions.

When I have those , then I am comfortable about approving or condemning.

I blame those whom I know to be responsible for harming Celtic and our interests.

The Scottish football authorities and their puppets in the black.

Meanwhile , their agenda in harming Celtic is assisted by some of our own supporters.

And the cabal can`t believe its luck.

OUR supporters who target the Celtic Board who , IN THEIR OPINION , have failed Celtic F.C.

Based on what ? Rumour , innuendo , assumption ?

Patently , we have supporters who will never under any circumstances see our Board as anything other than the enemy.

For some , that`s related to self interest .

They want the power to influence the workings of the Board and the decisions it makes.

They want a supporter on the Board.

I don`t want that. I think that would be harmful to Celtic.

And what percentage of the Celtic support do these agitators represent ?

Incidentally , my opinion of the Board is shared by Brendan who recently gave great praise for the level of cooperation he has received from the Board.

    Now that`s a fact.

But some of our fellow supporters feel they know better.

    Oh , yeah ?

    Well , I`m afraid I believe Brendan.

  9. Brendan Rodgers is quite simply the best manager we could have at the helm. I truly believe that. I wouldn’t want to swap him for Pep, Wenger, Mourinho et al.

I’m being truthful with that assessment.

Brendan ‘ gets’ Celtic. None of the above mentioned managers would communicate with the players in the way BR can. None of them could possibly apply themselves to the task any more than BR does.

The level of improvement he has overseen has been incredible.

Tactically he has been awesome. Substitution success has been remarkable. Hampden ‘ hoodoo ‘ buried. Of course, the telling stat, results, astonishing.

Embrace this era in your/Celtic’s lifetime .

Truthfully, are there 5 of you out there who would swap Brendan tomorrow if you had the opportunity? If so, for who?

  12. Someone was talking about conflict of interest if Red Bull Salzburg were ever drawn, in European competition against RB Leipzig, who beat Sevco in yesterday’s World Club Championship Final (most-hated club- sub section).

Well, that conflict has already been ignored. Leipzig have just bought a centre half from Sazlburg, Dayot Upamecano, for £9m.

This rising star should not be confused with his twin brother, Sevco’s new starlet signing, Upmerde Creeke Witout-Mecano.

Warburton: Rangers will learn from loss

Rangers manager Mark Warburton believes his players will learn from their 4-0 friendly defeat by RB Leipzig yesterday, He said: “We knew the quality of the challenge. It wasn’t a risk, far from it. We wanted to be really tested. They are a top-level European team, second in the Bundesliga, and have been top this season. We have to aspire for this club to be back at this level. There is no point in playing meaningless friendlies against sub-standard opposition. We have to challenge ourselves and learn every time you play those games.” (various)
