No one offered Celtic job yet

1032

Roy Keane is due at a press conference in Dublin this afternoon and he is sure to be asked about Daily Mail reports this afternoon that he is set to be appointed Celtic manager as early as tomorrow.

It’s pretty clear Celtic have spoken to Keane but NO ONE HAS THE JOB YET, the Club are still speaking to a number of candidates.

We’re going to remain hostages to news reports for a while. The sooner things are sorted the better.

If you missed it earlier………

Lisbon Lion John Hughes is joining Brogan Rogan, Auldheid and Angela Haggerty for a CQN Question and Answer evening at the Manor Club, Wimbledon, on 21 June. The event is ticket only, so let me know if you would like to attend, celticquicknews@gmail.com

Common practice in court cases to publish details of the accused.

Not so common when the accused is in the public eye.

De rigeur if he is a TIM!

Slightly disappointed that neither Father Dougal McGuire nor Father Sinead O’Conner even make the shortlist.

Is it true that Celtic’s major shareholder only got a 2:2?!

  7. Why does DD hold such power over all at CP?

He is the largest single shareholder, but he holds well short of a majority of shares.

    Or am I wrong again?

The outstanding candidate, who is Irish and also has European experience, is Dustin the Turkey.

I hope Stokes doesn’t holiday in Tenerife.

    No,you’re absolutely correct.

I believe it is 37%,though I have seen estimates as low as 30%.

Presumably he holds a number of proxies.

I could be wrong, but I think shareholders can demand-if they wish-that a holding be diluted below 30% or a full bid be made.

    Only 30%!!!!????

Ffs I canny believes that lets him have any say in the important issues at cp ;p

Great job done by Celtic, getting two main internationalists signed up on long term deals. Also good to see both players “get” Celtic and want to be here for the future.

    Very funny though.

    Who told you it?

  17. I am getting concerned about who will be the choice of next Manager of our beloved Celtic.

I’ve said before that the heart must not rule the head on this vital appointment, no way shape or form.

Roy Keane, a Celt through and through was a fabulous player but alas his managerial efforts have been very bad indeed. So, Keano – no thanks.

As for Coyle, Malky, Laudrop the same applies.

I know DD pulls the strings but someone should have the nuts to ask him what he knows about football really.

My personal preference is for Steve McLaren, possibly Petrescu or Moyes and dreaming a bit I know but as Henke and Lambert are such good buddies I’d be happy with them as a Clough/Taylor partnership.

    But what do I know!!

KINGLuBO ) off on his hols tomorrow and when I get back it’ll be sorted, huns are bust again, yipee)

Dunno about that. I heard there’s a bit of a problem with the physio’s wife.

  20. Is it true that Desmond has a barrow in the market place and that his daughter-in-law is the singer in a band?

  21. The Battered Bunnet on

For the avoidance of doubt, that was entirely, exclusively and otherwise absolutely a wee joke.

  22. BMCUWP/Philbhoy

DD owns 37%. He had to go to AGM few years ago to allow him to up his % shareholding above 29% or is it 30% (I can’t remember) without triggering the requirement for a full takeover bid. this was granted and remains in place. He has the support of all the main shareholders and most likely their proxy.

    MWD says Aye

  23. Miss Leftclick, brains come from your Mothers side then:-)
