There’s old tv footage showing Liverpool fans in the Kop singing it in 1964. Celtic fans began singing it in the games leading up to our EC defeat by AC Milan in 1969. The whole ground sang it before the start of that game.

*hate tae be pedantic, actually no i don’t, but it was the 1969 Final which i alluded tae earlier on here. I was over here the 1st time when that game was played.
The FA Cup final was always covered live by the CBC, the ex-pat huns were so confident of victory that they bombarded the station tae cover the SC Final,eventually they pissed CBC off that much that neither game was shown, instead the FA Cup was broadcast on CBC radio which is where I found out we had won by scores coming in fae hampden. ‘it’s 1-0 to Celtic” which as we know was early doors followed just before the half with “its now 3-0 Celtic”, with the commentator asking when the 2nd had went in,
The following Saturday they showed a taped delay of the game. i was home again in time for Harry Harry getting the winner at the broomloan road end.

I was in Little Italy on Byres Road yesterday when Bill Nighy was in and the day before he was on Epicures on Hyndland Road. Both times he was on his own.
I have previously seen him at London City airport and can honestly say that any time I have observed him he has come across as one of the most genuine and nicest people. He is always open and friendly towards people and accommodating when it comes to autographs or a quick word.
I was sorry for him on Byres Road yesterday because he sat outside with his coffee, a book and a fag and an endless number of people stopped and said “Oh look its Bill Nighy!” and stared at him while others came up and asked for autographs.
Now, I know the man will know all about being a well known personality, but by God, he got no peace at all and never once refused to chat or spend time with folk over a two hour period.
His mother was a psychiatric nurse and I wondered if he was here filming a “Who do you think you are?” episode?
Seeing him, Neil Lennon and various others on Byres Road just reinforces my long held belief that there would be nothing worse than being famous to any degree at all. It must be a horrible experience.
As for the Park Bar, I used to do the legal work for there many a year ago and back in the day sang the odd song on folk nights.

We were singing YNWA by the mid 60s. I was living in the Liverpool area then and I remember reading an article about us both singing it.
This sense of entitlement, to win, getting everything from referees or sugar daddies, take no responsibilty for their own club or their actions, expect immunity from any form of criticism and be offended by any Tim who dares to beat them has been created by an unquestioning and it would appear complicit media. Hell mend them much more pain on the way for the Sevcoites as their team is crap and their club has no way to change it. Hahaha
James Blair, Sevco’s club secretary should be held to account by SFA for this statement.
They are utter buffoons.
I’m surprised they don’t have a camera crew following every non-Sevco supporter and official in the country so that when they say something Zombies are offended by they can plaster their face on their anti-social sites.

The Club 1872 Statement after the Supreme Court Verdict and in anticipation of the SPFL statement on the case was a classic…
It highlighted threats which would become realiity ‘…should the SPFL decide to act on behalf of Celtic.’
“…That will include, but not be limited to, mounting a legal challenge to the SPFL, boycotting publications whose journalists misreport the facts of the matter and demanding SPFL and SFA investigations into any and all dubious actions by those clubs over the period of the last 50 years.
The investigations we will demand specifically involve, but are not limited to, the actions of several boards, individual board members and employees of Celtic Football Club, across a variety of issues which have been in the public domain for many years but never properly addressed by the football authorities.
We will also demand that the football authorities open multiple investigations and examine in public, and in detail, all deals which allowed Scottish football clubs to write off their debts and the fit and proper status of all majority and joint owners of SPFL clubs. We will not be lectured on integrity, sporting or otherwise, by the clubs involved.
The last time there was an attempt to steal our titles, those involved operated in an environment where Rangers and the Rangers support were in a state of turmoil. The focus of our support was in removing various unsavoury characters from within our own club. That will not be the case this time and any clubs, club officials and commentators involved in any such dishonest and self-serving campaign will be met by wide-ranging, robust, legal and economic challenges at every step of the way.

Sevco director James Blair has issued an incredible attack on Neil Lennon and accused the Irishman of playing the victim card.
Blair is the company secretary at Ibrox which brings his comments and actions under the remit of the SFA. He is also the only director of Club 1872 which is the club’s official supporters organisation and a major shareholder in the company.
Since Pedro Caixinha’s tactics were brutally exposed by Hibs at Ibrox a major deflection exercise has been underway to put all the blame on Lennon.
With perfect timing for the Monday morning newspapers Blair has put Lennon in the crossfire while the defensive abilities of Bruno Alves and James Tavernier escape attention.
Writing on the Club 1872 website Blair claims: “His (Lennon’s) actions in the dugout yesterday – where he made various inflammatory gestures to the supporters sitting directly behind the Hibernian dugout – were not becoming of any football manager, never mind one who likes to play the victim when things do not go his way.
“It is inexplicable that the fourth official chose to take no action against him at the time but, against the backdrop of possibly the worst refereeing performance ever seen at Ibrox, perhaps we should not be surprised.”
For the Record two of Blair’s fellow supporters served jail sentences for sending bullets and bombs through the post to Lennon and two other individuals, one a MSP.
Blair has come up with a number of inflammatory statements over the last few months, it’s unlikely that the SFA will ask him to explain his comments or issue him with a disrepute charge.

I wouldn’t put it past them to base it on the star of David symbol.
I think one of the very first first rangers kits was white with a blue star of David.

The question has indeed been posed a few times before.
My first recollection of the Celtic supporters singing YNWA was at a league game v Hearts at Celtic Park in February 1969. I was in the jungle at that match but I distinctly remember it was the supporters in the Celtic end who started it.
My other recollection from that game was of a very elegant and smartly dressed Italian film crew filming in the jungle. No doubt trying to capture the mood of the “natives” ahead of AC Milan’s visit a few weeks later.
