Payback for Turnbull Hutton

735

You all think you’re so smart, smugly laughing at the outcome of a game in a tournament you didn’t even know existed until recently.  Let me tell you, yesterday’s defeat of Newco Rangers was nothing short of calamitous for the road I hoped the club would take.

Ally McCoist is crucial to all the things I hope happens to Newco in the years to come.  He alone can deliver the hilarity waiting for when his team face full time footballers every week.  Who else could spend so much yet produce so little?  Who else would have the sheer brass neck to demand such a salary, even if partially deferred, in order to endorse the spivs as suitable recipients of season ticket money?  This guy is unique and of immeasurable value.

Yesterday’s defeat fundamentally weakens his position.  What now when, in true Rangers tradition, he stands in front of this year’s AGM thanking ‘yous’ for being the cream in his doughnut?  Will they still cheer at being patronised like applauding seals completely lacking in self-awareness?

Mark my words, anything which undermines McCoist is unwelcome.  A Ramsden’s Cup win would allow him to claim as much credit as he could waddle off with and would have upset no one.  They had a party at Ibrox planned, like it was 1975 all over again.  The humiliation must be significant.

The way forward for Newco Rangers is to put pressure on their board to release badly needed funds for the manager to spend in the hope of winning promotion from the Championship next season.

A word for Raith Rovers and their chairman Turnbull Hutton.  It was a Raith Rovers director who sat across the table from one of the Rangers clubs (I’ve lost track) to judge their failure to dispense their tax and other duties during season 2011-12.  McCoist then publicly demanded to know the names of the panel members.

It was Raith’s Starks Park ground which needed 24 hour security after receiving a threat to burn it to the ground following McCoist’s outburst.  Turnbull Hutton stood firm and was one of the voices which ensured the rules were applied as they stood.

Seville – The Celtic Movement

“Going into the second leg, it was all in Liverpool’s favour and on paper it was Celtic’s toughest test. That wasn’t to be the case though as Celtic achieved a very comfortable 2-0 at Anfield. Both goals were superb to top a fantastic victory. A low free kick from Alan Thompson and a wonderful strike from John Hartson were the difference in this game. Celtic went through to the semi-final 3-1 on aggregate.”

Hey chap, you don’t seem to represent yourself terribly well.

It’s not common for someone to deliberately misrepresent themselves as such a tool.

Problem is, some folk might think you represent yourself quite accurately, which would be a shame of course.

You have to be joking mate? Wes Brown is a liability. He’s found his level at Sunderland. Should never get anywhere near wearing the hoops. I know it’s all conjecture, plus he’s 35 this year, certainly not our demographic.

Having watched todays performance by the rangers, I don’t see many areas of concern. They are slow on getting back to defend after an attack and our quick passing could be key for us!

But I think they will get a complete roasting this week by the press and their fans and will be desperate to prove a point against us. This coupled by the fact that they are at home, makes them a dangerous opposition.

I don’t wish to get into an argument with you. What I objected to was your assertion that the singing o of Rudi Skachel is a refugee is water off a duck’s back to you. That is simply indefensible for any Celtic supporter, imo, no matter their circumstances. Br Walfrid called us Celtic to breakdown barriers in Scotland and make all welcome, not just Irish immigrant Catholics.

Well, if you read my previous posts on this, I believe that I made myself clear on where I stand on Racism. I also made it clear that I don’t believe this to be racist for reasons I previously pointed out. LG, to me is guilty of ignorance at worst.

To me, your previous comment was lazy & insulting. Had you spent the time explaining why you decided call me “Anti-Celtic” in the same post then you would’ve got the respect you deserved but, instead you didn’t feel it necessary, for reasons unknown to me & therefore got the response that I felt was appropriate.

    Leigh Griffiths

Leigh Griffiths now plays football for a club founded by refugees.

They fled from their home country for the most basic of reasons. Survival.

An Gorta Mór, the Irish Holocaust, created the community that birthed Celtic.

I don’t know much about Mr Rudi Skácel other than that he was a damn fine footballer.

That is all that should matter on Planet Fitba.

In his prime I would have loved to have seen him wear the green and white hoops of my club.

That’s the club that Leigh Griffiths is privileged to play for.

The current Celtic manager has been subjected to a decade and a half of racist abuse in Scotland.

You may have noticed, dear reader, that neither Neil Lennon nor Rudi Skácel is black.

Racism happens to people who are as white as Leigh Griffiths.

I am aware that, shamefully, Rudi Skácel has been subject to racist abuse during his playing career in Scotland.

Given that the main offenders have been Hibernian supporters, another club founded by Irish immigrants, makes this all the more shameful.

That the mainstream media is gleeful about this most recent incident involving Leigh Griffiths when they were largely silent on the Famine Song is entirely irrelevant.

If a pub video emerged involving the Genocide Choir and a current Sevco player then the Celtic support, and all right-thinking folk in Scotland, would be justifiably outraged.

When people become refugees it isn’t a lifestyle choice, it’s a necessity.

It is a defining mark of a civilised society that it welcomes refugees.

The community that created Celtic Football club could teach a master class to the new arrivals in Glasgow in what it is like to endure nativist hostility over generations.

It is that belief system, the hatred of the outsider that created the mind-set of David Limond.

There needs to be some consequential learning for Celtic’s new striker on what the club expects of him off the field.

If he was part of that event after being arrested for sending a racist tweet, he has had enough warnings to know exactly what he is doing.

It would appear that he hasn’t learned anything from that brush with the law for indulging in racism.

At the time an anti-racist charity in Scotland called for him to be hammered by the football authorities over this, and rightly so.

That the same NGO was, at the very least, hesitant over declaring against the Famine Song in 2008 is entirely beside the point.

That the mainstream media in Scotland still haven’t learned the term ‘anti-Irish racism’ is also beside the point.

Griffiths later apologised and deleted the racist tweet.

However, he could have chosen to learn from that incident, but he clearly didn’t.

You can’t force any adult to be educated about anything.

Leigh Griffith now appears to have a track record of indulging in racist behaviour and Celtic have to take him on about it.

Moreover, anyone attempting to minimise or mitigate on his behalf because he currently scores goals for Celtic is simply being part of the problem.
