Judging by these quotes, John Guidetti may just be the most excited footballer on the planet right now:
“I’m just going to work my socks off…. do my absolute very best…. give 100%.
“The one thing I hate more than anything is losing. I can’t stand it.
“For 90 minutes I am always giving everything.
“You can always expect 100% from your players and I’m going to give that [note the repetition of this assertion].
“I promise I’ll do my very best to do even a little bit of what [Henrik] did.
“Football without fans is nothing, it’s not worth it for me.”
There is a common theme across a few players who joined this summer, they have something to prove. Guidetti, Mubarak and Tonev each had a difficult time last season, for varying reasons. They need to hit the mark, whether it’s through form (Tonev), fitness (Guidetti) or simply being able to play in an environment which is remotely normal (Mubarak).
Scepovic is different. He arrives with the wind at his back, but the prevailing attitude at Lennoxtown should be one of hunger. I suspect this contrasts starkly with last year’s arrivals.

From SSN, fans unhappy Easdale says Ashley owns naming rights, bought for a buck.(don’t get much bang for your buck)
They are ragin’
Supporters spokesman, pure beelin.
Ashley has now Tuped the staff at the Rangers shops over to Sports Direct.
Ashley see Sevco as a commercial vehicle:-)
Otherwise known as a Cash Cow.
Moo!
:-)))))))
Back to work, that was a nice wee distraction, itsaboutTim, thanks for the heads up.
Deadco fan’s spokesman raging that his stadium’s name is only worth £1. “Afterall there have been three tragedies here!” Trouble is brewing.
They also fear another take over as Ashley poised to increase his shareholding to 9.9% – the maximum permitted without permission from the SFA.
Sorry for delay, I’m having problems with my tablet.

The lack of any plans for a Central Bank tells me that we are supposed to believe in the “Bank of Mum and Dad”.
You really couldn’t make this up.
This is Tea Towel politics and Brigadoon economics — I think it is all a set up.
Wee Eck and the Bronskis travel in hope to a level that needs therapy.
We need to laugh at them.
Sense just can’t seem to get through.
Anybody that sees UKIP as an anti-establishment party should look at where their leaders came from. The last-named is a cracker:-
Nigel Farage (Leader): Dulwich College
Stuart Wheeler (Treasurer): Eton College
Alexander Fermor-Hesketh (Defence Spokesman): Ampleforth College
Stuart Agnew (MEP): Gordonstoun School
William Legge (MEP): Eton College
Lord Stevens (Peer): Stowe School
Lord Pearson (Peer): Eton College
Lord Willoughby de Broke (Peer): Institut Le Rosey
The crook that wrote Nigel Farage’s biography was another ex-Ampleforth boy (TSD keeps good company) who managed to write this in the book:-
There were “bitter internecine rows and scandals which beset the new party almost from its inception, gleefully relating (among other things) how two defiant Ukips ran simultaneously out of two separate offices; how the party was infiltrated by the BNP activist Mark Deavin; and how Ukip’s Scottish organiser wrote to the newspapers declaring that the Holocaust was grossly exaggerated. Meanwhile, he described the party membership as being comprised of “idiots, paranoiacs and conspiracy theorists… freelance artists… traders, whores and vagabonds”.
The poor sap wot wrote that stood as UKIP candidate in Exeter, after he was released from jail, obviously.
Hope the above does not break my promise to try to stay out of the referendum argument as the viciousness and stupidity of the debate rises.

I feel a march………..maybe even a red card display is a comin.
Ernie, you actually sound like a Tory. And parrot all their arguments against self-determination for Scotland. I hope it happens and I hope we turn this place around. Imagine leaving behind the House of Lords? Getting a written constitution guaranteeing our rights, as well as a publicly owned NHS? If that succeeds, would that not make England wake up to the possibilities for change?
Let’s End London Rule and Just have Edinburgh Rule instead….
Well in Edinburgh, they have shown that they are responsible, responsive democrats who eschew partisan interests and make decisions for the sake of the greater good…
Do you have faith in the Edinburgh government and applaud what they have done for/to Scotland?
Politicians are politicians…completely in it for themselves regardless of what comes out of their mouths
As for the reduced corporation tax and Salmond’s fighting talk about reneging on debt.
Scotland has a central belt that is awash with tax dependent people, children, unemployed, disabled and elderly. The money to support them has to come from taxes imposed on those who are working or on those who run businesses or borrowing.
I read nothing about where taxes are going to be imposed to fund any of this, and in fact read all about free prescriptions, free university education, free childcare. Council tax must go is another popular mantra, while corporation tax will be slashed to attract businesses to Scotland. All of this is vacuous “elect me” nonsense.
A reduced corporation tax will absolutely set up Scotland in opposition to any other part of these islands vying for the same businesses. In addition, regional incentives were used in the past to make Scotland more attractive to businesses, but they have largely failed, so I suspect that any incentive corporation tax will have the same result.
Reducing corporation tax with the hope (that’s all it can be) that the wealth will trickle down is a ploy used by Republican politicians in the USA. They propose it alongside drastic cuts to social welfare programmes like unemployment pay, child welfare, public education and health cover. The trickle down philosophy is a distortion of the simple truth, that the rich will pay less tax and the poor will pay for that. The nonsense of a benevolent capitalism has been consistently exposed over 2 centuries. Alex Salmond is relying on the trickle down effect to bridge the shortfall between what Scotland will need to spend and what it will actually earn. It is all smoke and mirrors. Also, the necessary spend is only to maintain Scotland in exactly the same place it is now, not to improve it.
Talk of how wonderful it will all be in an independent Scotland has to measured against the reality, which is that nothing is free – even today. Everything has to be paid for – somewhere, even if it is not at the point of delivery. The working population will be taxed up the wazoo, and services will be cut. Those are the only two options available to fund the fantasy land that is being presented to the people of Scotland.
Unless of course the Scottish government decides to borrow billions to pay for something that they cannot afford…which brings it back to the threat to renege of any national debt. That will really get the money lenders beating a path to your door…even if it was just a wee game being played by Alex for the TV debate. Cuba seems a better bet after that jibe…and he doesn’t care.
We can persuade ourselves that we are rich in resources and have a motivated workforce, but that is just more electioneering piffle. Politically, we are a left a centre society and country, and before anyone gets agitated…The social policies of the UK Conservative Party would be considered left wing liberalism in the USA. The remnants of the trade unions in Scotland would still be a huge dis-incentive to many corporations for investing in Scotland. As for the two largest cities officially flying the Palestinian flag over their government headquarters…
Essentially, we are not a good option for investment: the only incentive for these companies that works is if they can make more money screwing the Scots workers than the Mexicans or the Bangla Deshis. We do not have a docile, hard working, grateful-or-any-job, on the breadline workforce. We are viewed as irascible and not very hard working – all the qualities to make businesses and corporations look elsewhere.
Nothing is free, even investment. I’ll use a phrase by Auldheid earlier – there is no real independence just degrees of inter-dependence. If we want that lower degree of inter-dependence that some call independence – then be prepared for the cost involved.

This is cup politics.
The vote is PIT.
They only need to win for one day.
The Scottish media is either hopeless, feart or bought.
Bought and sold with a busman’s gold to be exact.
The No campaign — how negative is that — has won all the arguments but it is losing the ground war and the air war.
They should have went with “United”.
That way we could all be “Teds” and for everybody outside the Holy City that would have been an uplifting experience.
An Tearmann – good luck tomorrow – Muckish is close to my heart.
Be careful if the mist comes down though.
I said it the other day, II think Ashley smells blood, and he wants in first, gonny put the SFA and the SPFL in a corner, but that’s never bothered them before when thems have been involved, interesting……..

Independence it seems is not real. The world especially Europe is interdependent.
Surely this reduces the feat of outright independence? No?
Presumably SNP preference for membership of NATO, EU and currency union is therefore sensible? No?
Should Scotland’s People decide YES, then are they giving their representative government, of whatever hue, authority to pursue the objectives detailed in a pre-election matifesto? No?
In which way is the ability for Scotland to hold a position as an independent nation, within an interdependent community different from other small population countries in Europe and elsewhere?
Just asking!
Hebcelt you got me bangd to rights there. I blame this ipad thingy. It keeps doing weird stuff.
Eddie we were talking about anti Catholicism…….desperately casting your net is not a good sign.
What were the 3 tragedies at the Hunnerpee to which the orc alludes?
Sebo, Mohshni and The Horizontally Challenged One perhaps?

It is ego tripping gone bad.
We are at every level pooling together to increase our effectiveness apart from Wee Eck and the Bronskis.
Just what are we going to do with Jihad Joe from Sheepsville if he ever comes home?
Will we notice?

As I have indicated before, I see the bookies as a more objective source re the Independence Vote.
This is what William Hill is offering:
Percentage Voting Yes For Independence – Scottish Referendum Voting Percentage
47% And Over 5/6
Under 47% 5/6
Good odds , ernie, if you still feel confident re 70:30.

Sorry, ernie, 66%/33% might have been your prediction.
