Profitable Celtic accounts last year despite revenue dip

1143

Celtic released their financial results for the year to 30 June 2014 this afternoon.  The club remained profitable to the tune of £11.17m (2013: £9.74m) despite a 14$ drop in revenue to £64.74m.  The net cash position at the end of the year was hardly changed from the previous year at £3.83m.

Football and stadium revenue was down £4.4m, which correlates almost exactly to the £100 reduction in season ticket process for around 40,000 seats, but the biggest hit was to Multimedia and Commercial Activities, which were down £5.21m.  The bulk of this fall will be explained by finishing fourth in the Champions League group stage, instead of processing to the knock out stage, as we did in season 2012-13.

Celtic opened a new borrowing facility with the Co-op Bank two weeks ago to replace their existing facilities.  The club have a £6m overdraft (at base plus 1%) and £14.4m of long-term loans.

This high watermark will not be reached this season as revenue will struggle to reach £55m but it’s clear the club can support the current cost structure without needing to pair back.  The project for now is to get revenue back over £70 next season, and for that we’ll need to be better prepared come Champions League qualification time.

  1. Macjay1 so can I add climate change deniers to the list? It sort of debunks the water is a precious resource argument though if water is t going to become so precious? So water isn’t precious then or how would you like to argue it so it all looks great for Scotland?

  2. Anyways.

    I’m off to the game.

I’ll leave you to the futility of changing other’s minds, whilst trying to scare and insult.

PF can you interpret the post as you seem keen to state what’s in my mind thanks.

    Philvis..,

People can have experience and be correct too, and I believe Keiser has been correct more than he has been wrong, he also follows up investigations, example the privatisation of the post office scam, where he advises vince cable to follow bankrupt bankers example and jump from a building. As to the Secretary of State of America and the misery he’s caused I think a fatwa is a good idea.

    I always value your opinion….

    I seriously didn’t know Salmond was a Freemason…..

    It isn’t obvious to me.

One of my greatest ever friends was a Freemason,he was a wonderful human being and only got involved because it was expected of him, from his family, from a very young age.

It led to a few heated exchanges between us when we had too many beers, but he was a very intelligent man and stood his ground in many arguments.

He didn’t hate much in life, but hated Orangemen…….not all Freemasons do.

It was the only thing in his life I ever disagreed with……

4 years on, I still miss him terribly…….

  5. Bob I baldy.

Sorry what are you talking about? Bankers bonus has been changed but not enough, top rate taxpayers? TV licence?? What’s your point? I could add another to the list though.

Scotland will be focused on wealth redistribution to form a fairer society even though it’s recent track record of freezing council tax was highly regressive and it never raised income tax despite having the power to do so.

  6. Neganon….

    Sorry mate….

I did NOT call for independence…..

    Mate

    This is what I said:

No argument about Scotland and water.

    No argument about rainfall levels.

Simply disagree about “global warming”, that`s all.

    Climate agnostic.That`s me.

  14. Phyllis Dietrichson on

Philvis – I don’t understand why Scotland is automatically out of the EU if it votes for independence from the rest of the UK.

I know that various eurocrats have said that is the case but my question is why? What precedence is he referring to? Which article of the EU Constitution or which treaty are they referring to? Or are they just stating their opinion? Scotland is not voting to leave the EU, so is it not possible for it to re-negotiate its position from inside, as Harold Wilson did 40 years ago and as David Cameron is seeking to do now? Sorry for all the question marks.

  17. new strike force, excellent!

not that i know much about them, but at the moment ‘new’ is ‘good’ when it comes to our strike force

oh, and when the new article comes up at 12.15, it should be football only, it would be good if the CQNers who are in edinburgh today can just read the game updates without feeling the need to update us on how their day is going

Scotland becomes a new sovereign state and as such holds no debt or international standing.

  19. 10,000 Orange Order marchers, a Hibs home game and Farage allegedly arriving in Edinburgh? The perfect storm.

  20. After a yes vote is the UK automatically still in EU?

Latvian foreign minister doesn’t think so.
